looks like it's just you and me! I'm having a slower day now which is nice. Hey, I have a question for anyone who's done the birth thing. Can they tell you NO on an epidural if you are only at 3-4cm? I read a birth story on the third tri board and got scared because she went to the hospital and was already dilated 3-4 cm and the nurse said she "wouldn't need" an epidural. I'm waiting to hear back from her if that was a "you can't have one" or if she still had the option. I would kill some people if they told me no that early on!!!!! I'm so scared of the pain, I'm not kidding y'all.

Stef, I read that too - I think maybe you & me need to not read all those stories! Yikes - lol. I can't help you out with that one because I'm as new to this as you - sorry. Kendra, how's Strads job hunting going? I've been meaning to ask you about it.

LOL yes both of you stay off of those other boards! I got on one of those once and it's just too scary I stay away....you two are just going to have to accept the fact that you are destined for uneventful pregnancies and labors! LOL

I hate it too when he's sick, but you know what? I'm more bothered by it than he is, he's still just his regular happy self, maybe a little more tired, but he keeps his appet_te and interests when I would totally take to my bed! He's such a strong little guy. I ate like 15 oreos today. Just wandering around the kitchen, putting groceries away, cleaning out the fridge, doing dishes, I just kept reaching into the bag and before I knew it! Wow! I'm still waiting for the guilt to kick in because right now I'm still happy and feeling great from the sugar rush, lol! My next dr appt is next Monday, I'll be getting a v____al ultrasound, ugh. What fun! Well, since I have a history of premature labor, my doctor wants to check my cervix for any shortening or funneling, which could be an indicator of possible premature labor happening again this time. It's very unlikely though that it could happen again this pregnancy. What I had last time (a large subchorionic hematoma which ruptured) did not happen with this pregnancy. But, the benefit of all these u/s is that I'll get to see the baby lots between now & July!

Tina, you don't need to apologize about anything! That's what we're here for, to listen to each other b___h - just kidding. About your friend - some people are super sensitive when it comes things like that, and she will probably realize that she way over-reacted to that situation. It's certainly not your fault that she had already bought something, If it were me I would've just took it back and got something else (without telling you). Maybe she was really excited about her present and just got let down a little? She will no doubt get over it and all will be okay. I thought us pregnant women were the ones that are supposed to over-react to everything!!! :0)

AMY - LOL don't feel guilty girl! I was just sitting here trying to think of something sweet I could have now that I am feeling better...LOL ....plus after all that - dishes,,,cleaning out the fridge ....you needed that energy to keep going. Glad your little guy is so resillient...well I hope you guys get back on ....LOL I will start the thread on the 3rd tri board tomorrow - HEATHER I'll try to do it before I go to work so you can be the first to post LOL - Kendra - look at that bump girl! wow!! I might have to take a new bump photo to signify the start of the 3rd trimester! Oh and I can't remember if I told you guys or not but I have my ultrasound Monday - at 430pm California time and I'll post when I get home to let you guys know that Megan is in fact still a Megan...LOL

Heather - you are right - she probably was excited and it burst her bubble...but I just didn't appreciate her taking out her aggravation out on me....yes we all like to plan and we would all love for things to go our way but life happens and sometimes things don't always go the way we want them to but no sense getting all p__sy just go with the flow....I guess it's my fault for putting up with it all this time...and not speaking up before...whatever - another hump I'm sure we'll get over..right? Thanks for listening

Amy that is exciting that you get to see the baby so much! Are you still gonna hold out & not find out the s_x??? How premature was your son? Oh yeah, those oreos sound like a good idea =) Tina, it will b__w over, don't you worry hunni. I try to remember that everybody has a bad day every once in awhile!

Hello! I am new to this forum. I am due the 12th of July with a little boy. This is my second child.

stefkay - April 1

Wow, we had an explosion of activity over here, eh? TINA, on that post she said that when she got to the hospital she was already at 3-4 cm (had done a lot at home already) so she was far enough for one but the nurse said she didn't need one because she was already that far! I'm l ike, huh-uh, 3cm is NOT even close to 10 so I'd be like "give me the f*&#%^g epidural!" lol...........it was very confusing to me and she hasn't responded yet and she may not, who knows. I'm sorry about your friend's reaction! That was totally uncalled for. Some people are waaayy too sensitive, but you did NOTHING wrong either! i hate situations like that and then I'm the always apologizing type so I end up apologizing for things I don't need to apologize for! (grrr) ah well, I'm thinking about oreos now thanks to AMY ;) hee hee....and I have NO sweets in the house right now. Ok, so are we moving tomorrow to the 3rd trimester? It's like Christmas when I was a kid or something.

stefkay - April 1

STEF - I read that post .....and let me just clarify....I am not sure what the hospital protocol was/is as it varies but usually once you arrive they hook you up get your iv going take blood then once they get the blood work back there is nothing to stop you from getting an epidural.....so there might be a slight delay but there is no really good reason for you to be denied an epidural no matter where you were when you got to your 3-4 and like you uh 4 cm isn't near 10cm give me my epidural or die!!!! lol....try not to worry too much -- it is an exception for a first timer to go so quickly....most 1st timers labor 12-15 hours so that makes for plenty of time to get your epidural....now if in July you get on here and call me a big fat liar cuz you pushed your babies out in less than 4 hours if you are a first timers that is unusual...lol I am right there with you even though this is my 3 baby I get anxiousl thinking I won't get to the hospital in time to get my epidural...both of my boys required some pitocin to get out so I am not to worried and my water didn't break before labor with either of my boys so I don't know what I'd do if my water broke with this one only because once it broke I was pushing less than 1 hr after....so crazy......also girls it's wise to discuss your plan with your doctor and get their input as to what they like to do when a mother is in labor....some doctors might tell you that they won't give you and epi until 4cm and some might say you can have it whenever you want it.....but make sure you let them know what you expect and they tell you what they normally do so there are no surprises when the magic day gets here....oh oh oh ....also find out what your doctors stance is on letting the epi run dry so you can feel at the end to push...I for one never had that happen but some doctors think moms need to be able to feel so they know how to push well I don't think any of us here will forget how to poop and that's how you push...so don't let them pull that c___p on you....I had a top off right before Aidan was born and it was great i didn't feel a thing except pressure and no pain.....I was up and peeing by myself one hour after I delivered my son....
