Hi Brandie, congrats on your pregancy. Sounds like everything is moving along nicely. It was a good idea to get the fetal heart monitor. I may get one later on in the pregnancy. I had my 14 week appoint. today and the baby looked great on the scan. It's always a relief for me. Doc said I should start to feel movement around 18- 20 weeks. We'll see, I keep thinking I felt my ds around 16 weeks. This baby was bouncing and flipping all over the place, so hopefully it will be sooner than later.

Hi everyone, my name is Jenna and I am 13 wks. Expecting a little boy, it is our second. I had the CVS test done a couple of weeks ago that's how I know so early what I am having. Anyway, I have 5 year old daughter and am a little nervous about having a newborn again. It is like starting all over. I am due March 17, holding out hope that he will be a day early so I can enjoy a green beer on St. Patrick's day. I am hoping to avoid delivery on St. Patties Day because my husband swears he wants to name it Guiness if that is when he is born!

I totally hear you Jds, I am due March 12th and if I go over like I did with my son I may make it to St.Patricks day. I was born and raised in Dublin, Ireland, but I live in the US now. My due date is my brother "Patrick's" B-Day, and yes he was named after the patron saint. We'll just have to see which one of us ladies make it to the day.

Thanks Katie and Denise! I totally agree with you Katie about it being in God's hands. When I lost my daughter even though I really didn't get to "know" her I accepted it as God's way of telling me it wasn't the right time. My b/f feels the same way about his daughter. Even though it was a tragic situation I think having to be tied to our ex's for the rest of our lives may have been worse for the kids and us. Now as quickly as I got pregnant and as well as things are going I now believe that God just might think it's right this time. Hopefully I am correct with that a__sumption. I told my b/f last night about ordering the monitor. He was so excited. Hopefully it will put his mind at ease as much as possible.

HELLO fellow preggo's =), Brandie, you and i are due on the same day!!! Where are you from?? i too can every now and again feel the babe kick me, but its very random and only usually one time. With my ds he was born with the cord around his neck too, and i am scared to death about that again with maybe a tragic ending... Its so scary because i dont think you can control that...?... JDS1971 what is the CVS test?? im dying to know my gender!!! shopping would be so much better!! hahaha Have a good day everyone!!

I'm in North Carolina. I go for the anatomy u/s on October 6th. I still feel like it's a boy but all my friends are making their own guesses. One told me this morning that it was going to be a girl because I told her what the heart rate was a few weeks ago! She said girls beat faster than boys. This is the same person that told me last week it was going to be a boy because my nose wasn't spreading. Funny what people come up with to determine s_x. I don't care either way...just as long as it gets here healthy!

Babyhope, the CVS is genetic testing kind of like an amnio. Instead of a needle to the tummy they go through the cervix and take a sample of the placenta and they do it around 11 weeks. I am happy to say that genetically my little boy is fine. I took the test because of my age (37). For some reason with this pregnancy I have been overly worried the whole time. I was not like this whith my daughter. I think that since since her birth I have read so many things and know too many people that have had complications and miscariages that it has planted the seed of worry in my brain. Getting the results of the CVS really lifted a burden and i have been able to relax and start enjoying this baby.

Hi ladies mind if I jump in? Hey Katie! Ok for those who don't know me my name is Jenny, this is my 5th pregnancy. I have a 4 year old little boy. I had a m/c at 8 weeks, 4weeks, and a stillbirth this pa__sed Feb at 27 weeks. Apparently I have the Factor V Leidon like Katie but I also have two other clotting issues. So I have to do injections everyday and my stomach is purple lol. But if it gets me a healthy baby then I'm all for it! My due date it March 1st and I'm hoping they'll indue me early. I had a nt at 12 weeks everything was great. I have my next appt monday and 16w 1d. Right now we're not finding out what we're having but we'll see. I just don't want to be upset if they tell me it's a boy and I know if I'm holding that baby when I know I'm not going to care either way. It's just selfish to get upset but I know I will becuase I want a girl so bad so it's best for me to just wait. Plus me SIL didn't find out and she just had her baby last week and it was sooo exciting so I think it'll be fun.

Oh and I can feel the baby. Not constant obviously but atleast once3 a day. I have a fhr moniter too. I had to buy one. I feel like if I would have gotten it last time like I wanted to I would have noticed a change in hr and been able to do something. And maybe not but I'm hoping this time if something goes wrong I'm going to know before it goes really wrong.

I am joining for real now! I am 13 weeks 3 days!!! I am due on March 21st. Lately I have been feeling a lot of stretching/growing pains. I know it is normal, but I must say it is really rea__suring! We went in for our 12 week checkup at 11 weeks and they couldn't find the heartbeat to hear it. My dr said it was perfectly normal since I am not stick skinny. We go back in on the 30th of this month for our 16 week checkup (which is our 2nd wedding anniversary) and we should hear the heartbeat for sure then!!! Other than the growing, I am feeling great, more energized, the only thing I wish I could get rid of is my bad complexion! Comes with the job of carrying a precious being though!!

BABYHOPE - I think the name Ryan for a girl is adorable!! When will you find out what you are having? What are you gonna name it if it is a boy?!

I find out middle of Oct my dr. wants me to be 20 weeks ( will be actually 22 or 23) before we look soooo thats thats, and i dont have a boy name picked out, hahahaha i really like ryan elizabeth , my 4 yr old son is named logan, so really it has to be a girl hahahahaha, i just cant wait to shop shop shop!! im going crazy!!

Jenny, I know what you mean about being afraid of being disappointed if it's not a girl. I know in my heart I just want a healthy baby, but deep down I secretly hope it's another girl. I can't not find out the s_x....I think it will help me bond more with this baby and move on from my pregnancy with Brooke. Are any of you moms "showing" yet? My belly is starting to pooch, but it just looks like I've eaten too much. Haha. I have my next regular OB appointment on Oct 1, so I'll be about 18w at that time. I have my "big" u/s on October 10 with my perinatologist. Hope baby cooperates!

Hello ladies, im so excited to join this forum i feel that i have been waiting so long to be part of this forum, im currently 13 weeks and 3 days i have an appt tomorrow and im very nervous and excited its always like this with me cause i worry too much. i can see that most of ladies here are secretly hoping for girls but im actually secretly hoping for a boy, even so the most important thing ofcourse is to have a healthy baby. i really hope that the doc can tell me the s_x tomorrow i know that he probably will not be able to tell me but cant stop hoping. well i wish you all healthy and beautiful babies and a safe and non-eventful pregnancy. baby dust to all and best wishes.

Got the fetal heart monitor yesterday. Got home and tried it & found a faint heart beat and then nothing. I think the little booger moved on me. Then later that night my b/f got antsy and got it back out and started moving it all around. Then finally he stumbled upon it. It was beating really strong. His face lit up when he found it. That's what I got it for...him to be happy and be as involved as much as he can with the pregnancy and to put his mind at ease.
