I am around 18th week and expect to feel my baby’s kicks, but I don’t know what to look for. Recently I got some sort of muscle pulls, very small & quick mostly on the left and one time on the right side of my lower abdomen. Or another way I can describe it is like you have your fist push again your skin inside out. I heard some ladies explained that it feels like “butterflies”, mine are stronger than that. What are your experiences?

The best I can explain the early movement is like a muscle twitch from the inside.

mine felt like pinches and like popcorn popping....that is the only way I could describe it....every now and then I would feel what felt like air bubbles from a fish tank...does that make any sense??

I think my experience is closed to mjvdec01... the baby is dancing I'd call it :-) so excited isnt it? Good luck ladies

royalpoinciana : i've been feeling the exact same thing as you for the past few weeks, my obgyn informed me that, since i have a anterior placenta that it is indeed the baby moving which explains why i feel it on the sides only and in my back, and no i didn't feel the b___terflies and all that, that's what i was looking for.. kicking buterflies :p
it could be the baby, in my case it is...

I have never felt the "b___terfly" feeling with this baby or my first. You know how a technician will flick your vein with their finger before they draw blood? It feels like like from the inside. Like a thump. I know its a weird example but i was trying to think of a way to explain it. Everyone is different though,

with me it started as like a vibration then after a bit it progresses into a light tap from the inside. Patience described it well with the flick of the vein. If you flick yourself like on your hand or arm, that is what it feels like but coming from the inside, it will then progress into real kicks and punches. Everyone is different though so dont freak out if you dont feel the same thing someone else feels and when they feel it. Good luck

when my boyfriend puts loud music on my baby kicks. lol the music is to loud for it. it feels like a nudge on the inside of my stomach. i can also feel my baby move and it kind of tickles. its really amazing but my baby does it a lot and thats how i know its close to my heart.

I had my first real kick today where I saw my stomach move...it was strong...and so weird. But exciting at the same time...I only had 3 of them...the tapping is getting stronger which means he is getting bigger...oy vey...it makes it so much more real...
