Okay Beth, this is what I heard.....You can't feel the heartbeat of the baby through the mother unless positioned just right and very very far into pregnancy. BUT that is just what I heard. My sis is having a girl. the doc did a 3D u/s. It was pretty cool. And one of my friends is in labor as we speak, well.....epiduraled labor, so she is basically sitting there laying on her back doing nothing and feeling nothing. Sorry I am a bit bitter at how society has made us programmed. To each his own....

I'm not able to fit into many of my normal clothes just some of my "fat clothes" that I used to wear before I lost weight.. So I have a couple of pants but the tops I have are all close fitting and look stupid on me now that I have a bit of a belly. Looked again at your pics Beth, and you really do look pregnant! hehe Lucky, you made me feel so much better, but I'm sure i'll end up spending tons as well.. I just now that I'll be upset if I don't feel ok in my clothes.. I guess I'm a little superficial sometimes but if I feel ugly I can't even walk out the door! Your story made me laugh Ekay!!! That is hilarious :)

Yeah Ekay, everything is done "per request or timelined" now a days. I myself am not getting an epideral, I made that choice and then told my fiance that I was not going to be getting one and he said good, he had not wanted me to anyways, glad we both agreed before the day came and I say DID want one and he opposed and got knocked out in my time of PAIN, haa haa. Thats funny Ekay that you happen to see some stripper who you were "fondoling", haa haa j/k. He must have been some fine guy to remember while drunk!!

And thanks Citrouille, for the looking pregnant comment, that makes me excited!! I can't wait for the belly to actually harden!

So that makes 3 of us who are going for an epidural free delivery... we'll see who sticks to their convictions :) I'm hoping I'll be able to but I'm not sure how much pain my husband can handle to see me go through... he may try to convince me to have it!

I looked at your pics too, Beth, and I think you look pg. I think you are just paranoid. Seriously, one day you are just gonna wake up and there is gonna be a ball. Good for you two not getting epidurals, especially for your first. I don't have much room to talk, because I got an epidural for my first, but since I didn't for my second and only had a two hour labor, I can say that it seems more effective for a woman to be able to move around during labor and not just lay there on a bed and open her legs when the doctor checks the cervix. Like I said, to each his own, but that is just my opinion on the matter.

My mom had a similar situation with me. The doctor still had one hand behind him getting a glove on and out I came. I had a 7 hour labor with my son, but with my daughter, I went in because I was kinda crampy, not too bad and thought that I was possibly leaking fluid. Well, there was no fluid, but I was dialated to a 5 when I got there.Thank God, I didn't hang around the house any longer! So my house is about 20 minutes away from the hospital and my office is only about 5 minutes away, so guess who is working from the office till the very end?! I am so scared this labor is gonna go so fast. Watch it take 15 hours.

citrouille - March 30

Well, I know my sister was in labour for a really long time with her first and she had an epidural , with the second labour was shorter but she still had an epidural and with the third, he popped out so fast she didn't have time to get one!! I'm more worried about an epidural than the pain.. All the previous operations I've had have gone horribly because of my reactions to pain killers, anesthetics (sp?) etc. When I had my wisdom teeth out I almost had a heart attack (literally!) and I woke up in the middle of the procedure.. anyway needless to say I may have to go natural anyway! I think the best thing is to try to prepare your body through specific exercises and breathing techniques

I had my appointment and I have gained 4 lbs in 5 weeks!!!! My doc was like "how much are gonna gain next month?" Ya know what I have to say-P__s OFF. So at 15 weeks I weigh 164 and started at 160. BUT I gained 4 pounds in FIVE weeks! I feel like a glutton.

Beth - March 30

ok so besides the weight gain how did your apt go? because you know what I say p__s off to your dr too! ha haa, we are supposed to gain weight, they should leave us alone!! :0) Although Eaky, 164? thats nothing my dear, haa haa, take a good look at my pictures, I was 183 before I even got pg!! People never belive it, I USED to have allot of defined muscles, but with my hips getting as big as they are I think they are starting to believe it, haa haa

Lucky1 - March 30

Well, 3 out of 4 ain't bad huh??? I'm definately getting an epidural if I have to. I will not hesitate.... If time permits it, I'm getting one. I can't lie, I am a little nervous about the needle, it looks really painful, but then again, so does child birth.... Well, Ekay, have you been using your doppler? Do you notice your baby on one side. I can only find the heartbeat on my right side, and I'm noticing it's kinda low, right above my pubic hairline... Wierd cause I was hearing it higher before. Also, where I hear the h/b at is where I get pains throughout the day, so I think it's my baby poking and kicking me there.... Oh, and I can feel and hear him move too, so I know what you meant in one of your earlier posts!!

ekay - March 30

Ohh, sorry, how superficial of me! My appt went good. Like I said before, all she does is weigh me and stick the doppler on my tummy. The h/b was 145. It's been in the 140's almost everytime I use the doppler. I have an u/s next time, but not finding out what it is still. That might be a little tricky, because I know what to look for and they are gonna put it on tape. I'm gonna tell them to steer clear of the genatalia area. It's weird this time because all the other times I couldn't wait for the u/s to find out what it is. Now it's kinda like, eehh. Don't get me wrong, I want to make sure all the arms are in the right spot, okay I am rambling. Ya'll know what I mean. My friend that just had the baby is going to hook me up with all her maternity clothes, which is great because she spent some bucks on all the cute stuff. Her hips a bit smaller than mine, so we'll stick to trying on the shirts only. BTW Beth, evidently I don't appear 164 because the nurses always start the scale at 100 and not 150. I'm like "You can go ahead and move that over sweetie"

ekay - March 30

Lucky, I usually pick the h/b up dead center between my belly b___ton and my hairline. I am trying to relax now. I am so glad we all have made it so far! :-)

Beth - March 30

I am glad we have all made it so far too. . .less worries for all of us!!

citrouille - March 31

Oh another thing.. I'm a bit concerned because I've been having pain on my side.. the right side where my appendix area would be except for the fact that I don't have an appendix anymore! Anyway, basically it has been hurting in the area for a few days, almost a week actually! I think it is down in the area beside or on the right side of my uterus;. When I roll over at night it really pulls. And, one time I woke up and there was a kind of hard spot or bump there. What do you think?? I've made an appointment with my general practioner but I don't see him until Friday!

Lucky1 - March 31

Hey Cit, maybe that's where your little one is hiding.... I think my baby is on my right side too, whenever I listen with the doppler I have to check over on the right side lately. I have my 17 week appointment on Monday the 4th, I plan on begging for an u/s. I have a tilted uterus as you all already know, so I'm going to tell him that I am concerned about that and that I would really like to be rea__sured that everything is going alright, although it may take some convincing, I'm hoping that he'll do it. If not, I still have the 3D u/s on Saturday the 16th.
