BLEEDING DURING SECOND TRIMESTER

Kimberly, sometimes it is hard to detect the baby's heartbeat before eight weeks. The doctor couldn't find our fourth son's hb until the second ultrasound at 10 weeks. Jenny, pelvic rest differs from complete pelvic rest if you can believe that! With orgasm, your uterus contracts which can cause bleeding depending on where it is coming from. Let your doctor know and (of course) stop if it's making you concerned. Millie, did your doctor say anything about an increased chance of spotting with twins? I've seen quite a few people on here having twins and to tell the truth, I'm a little concerned about my increased chance of having them. I've been reading everywhere that once you have had four babies and you'll be 35 when you deliver that your chances are b/t 1and 20 and 1 and 28 of having twins! Did you have any feelings before you found out? How far along were you when you found out? We have our u/s on Thursday. tiphanie

jennifer, I just read that you, too, are having twins! Can you let me know your answers to the things I asked Millie in my last posting? Thanks!

Milie - January 25

Yes, Tiphanie My docs did tell me about increased risk of bleeding with multiples. I worried anyways as my first pg ended in a miscarriage after bleeding. I just had my sono. things seem well so far. I was told about me having twins at my very first sono at 6 weeks. Are you having twins too? I am not aware about the risk of having multiples after a certain age or certain no. of kids. Good luck with your sono on Thurs.. Keep us posted.

Adrianna, I am very happy for you and I wish you the best of luck - God bless you. For those of you that felt a little irritated by her posting and if you have had a pregnancy without any complications you have to understand how hard it is to comprehend what we are all going through. I myself have two daughters that I was blessed with 8 and 11 years ago, now I am 16wks. pregnant and almost 30years old and having complications. I know during my first two healthy pregnancy's I could not nor would not have even tried to comprehend our worries. I just hope everyone will deliver healthy little angels and we can come back on this wed site and brag. Good luck and God bless you all - I think about you daily. Jenny

Hi everyone - hope all is going good. I just wanted to share that we had a baby girl Elizabeth on Friday the 21st of January. Most of you may not remember me but I had posted here earlier on in the year with bright red bleeding in my second trimester, and the support I received was fantastic. To all of you who might be going through somehting similar - please have faith and maintain a constant communication with your doctor. Good luck and stay positive. Cheers Pauline.

Usually people just get busy and forget. I am sure this msg will give so much hope to many in distress right now. Thanks you so much. Wish you all the best in bringing up your little one!

At 12 weeks 4days, I went to the ER last night with moderate bleeding which has stopped today. An Ultrasound confirmed a slight separation of the placenta(subchorianic hemorrhage). As with all of you, it's wait and see. I'm scared. This place seems safe. Praying for all of you.

Abdulla - February 1

my wife 6 week pregnent and she experienced a small bleeding yesterday, could you please let me know what is the reason?

kristy - February 1

Meredith, my doctors gave me no terminology but they told me that I had a slight seperation too. I bled heavily at 13 wks and am now in my 18th wk with only slight spotting. My doctor was not worried about the bleeding and the baby is doing well and I have been feeling the little movements here and there. I am sure all will be fine with you as well, just take it easy and always think positive. God bless.

To Abdulla, I bled bright red for 2 days at 6 weeks. There was a small separation in the placenta (subchorionic hematoma??) which the dr's said would heal up on its own, and it did shortly after. At 17 weeks, I had a dark bleeding episode for a day & light spotting for a couple days after that. No diagnosis was given, but 2 dr's did not seem alarmed. They said there are numerous reasons this could happen. Baby looked fine. I am 18 weeks now, and no problems since. This was the best website. It got me through that episode, and who knows, there may be future ones. My level 2 ultrasound is tomorrow. Bleeding does happen, & we all just need to hang in there. It is hard not to go crazy though. It is scary to go to the bathroom, not knowing what you'll find. Good luck to all!

Hi everyone! We had our first ultrasound last Thursday and got to see our little grain of rice with his beating heart. Millie, the nurse said she only saw one there, we go back in three weeks just to be sure. I had quieted down on the spotting, but the nurse did an internal exam, so now I've been doing the brown and light pink spotting on the tp again. When she did the pap smear she said she saw brown blood around my cervix, but the baby's heart looked fine on the u/s and I told her I had some spotting with three of the four of my pregnancies, just not for this long. I hope everyone is doing okay. J, I am in central California. Pauline, congratulations!!!! You give hope to so many people on this site.

Thanks for the update Tiphanie. Happy that yr sono went well. Things have been quiet for me too. But recently I have been having a lot of pelvic pain. I go for my next visit in 2 weeks. Can't wait.
