I'M 13 WEEKS AND I HAVE BEEN BLEEDING FOR ABOUT TWO TO THREE WEEKS AND MY OB HAS PUT ME ON BED REST. HE SAY'S THAT I HAVE PLACENTA PREVA AND I WAS JUST WANTING SOME MORE INFO ABOUT IT.

I began bleeding at 9 weeks, it did not last long. I've had other coplications since and found out through a sonogram today that I have placenta abruption. I've read alot about placenta previa, but has any one here experienced abruption ( I am 16 wks, now)

hi everyone! i'm glad most of you are doing well...we have not so good news on our part. my husband and i went in yesterday (after just minimal brownish spotting when i wiped and only every couple of days), and the dr. looked with 2 u/s machines, but couldn't see a heartbeat or movement in the baby. We were exactly 14 weeks. it looks like the baby is only measuring 12, though. at this point we are waiting to see if nature takes its course over the weekend with another appt on monday if not. how are you doing, millie? any more contractions? i'll keep checking on this site to be updated on some of you who are regulars. hang in there, everyone! our prayers are with you.

Hi Patti. I'm sure you have read alot of the stories. I have posted a few times with mine. I was told that I had Placenta previa at 12 weeks when I suddenly statred bleeding. It was really scary at first but they kept telling me my baby was fine. I don't know what degree of previa you have but I had what they call a full previa where the placenta in lying completly over the cervix. I had a brownish discharge for just over 3 weeks and then it stoped. I went to the doctor at 18 weeks and he said that my placenta had moved completly away from my cervix and the rest of my pregnancy should be fine. I still get a little nervous every time I have to use the restroom But I am now almost 20 weeks and I feel so much better. try to get a lot of rest. my doctor told me to lay down most of the day. That was almost impossible for me because I am recently seperated from my husband and I have 2 other children. But i managed to get as much rest as I possibly could and it did correct itself. I hope it goes the same for you. The best advice I can give you is just relax and try not to stress too much. Lot's of luck and have a great Easter.

It's been 12 days since my last spotting incident :) Have been very careful and resting as much as possible.. Am 18 weeks already and hoping to get through the rest of the pregnancy without any more spotting... counting the weeks... Have a happy Easter Hol everyone.

Tifanie, I am so sorry. I have been dealing with the threat of a MC sence my 10th week so I have only a little understanding of what you are going through. I can tell you even though I dont know if it will help, the nurses and doctors always told me that there is a reason why. The baby may not have been healthy and God chose to spare this sweet child the suffering. I feel deeply for your loss and Ihope that you will try again really soon. God Bless you and I will Pray for all of you to heal and move on to Happier days. Just remember ( all of us) we want to hurry this pregnancy on to get to a week when the baby can survive, but remember how beautiful it is to be pregnant, and this child will only grow inside you for a short time, enjoy.

So glad I found this board! At exactly my 13th week i started spotting some light pink blood. I'm a nurse so thankfully the Er is only a few floors down. My coworkers rushed me to the er. Even though I am a medical professional i was still frightened. The worst thoughts ran through my mind. I thought I was having a miscarriage. A fetal doppler and an ultrasound showed that my pregnancy was still viable. I went to my ob the next day and doppler was done again, fetal heart strong...still spotting some light brown blood though. Doctor is at a loss for what is going on. As a nurse i know that soemtimes the doctors don't always know what's going on. But as a soon to be mother, it's frustrating.

Tiffanie I was wondering how you were doing? April and Ruth hang in there. This is the same thing that happens to most of us. I found slowing my life down dramatically helped my condition. However I am now 25 weeks 4 days and i am back to the doctor today due to more bleeding and odd discharge. The baby is active so i am not worried about her I am worried I wont be able to carry her long enough for her brain to properly develope. I have been dealing with this streeful situation since I was 11 weeks prego. I think at this point and 9 ultrasounds later the doctors believe my cervix is sensitive to everything. I have not been allowed to even fool around in anyway since January. No "O's" allowed because it makes the uterus contract which can cause bleeding. Has anyone else been told this? God bless you all and good luck,J

jenny if you can hold off a few more weeks she should be just fine. girls that are born early tend to do better then boys. i had my last baby (a girl) at 32 weeks and she was fine...even weighed 5lbs 1 oz !!!! she only had to stay in nicu for 5 days...so hopefully you will be able to hold off a few more weeks. i go for my u/s on friday...hopefully they will be able to tell why ive been bleeding and its nothing too bad....almost 18 weeks....

Stephanie, you are so wise. I talked with my doctor about this today and she said the same thing. I asked about brain development and she said 30 to 32 weeks and the risks of brain problems are reduced. how is your daughter developmentally if you dont mind me asking? This is my greatest concern now that I am carring a viable baby. I tach Special needs children and I see first hand how this brain development is so essential in the childs overall quality of life. God Bless you all and good luck. Jenny 25 weeks 4 days :-) and keeping my legs crossed

jenny my daughter will be 2 in june and you would not know she was a preemie....she is almost as big as her 3 year old brother, and besides being a little dingy (we tease her cause she is blonde :) ) she is a perfectly normal 22 month old....she is even acting interested in potty training!!!!! so good luck holding off....ill keep my fingers crossed!!!!

steffanie I was reading back through the old emails because this is all I have to do when my children leave to school and my husband to work. I noticed that there are 2 steffanies on here and I notice that you have an ultrasound on April 1st. Good luck. I was wondering though how come they have not been doing ultrasounds when you have had the spotting? I have had I think 9 ultrasound. It has been sort of neat having so many because I not only get to feel the baby grow stronger everyday but I get to watch her grow stronger too. take care to everyone and God bless

The spotting has decreased. Thank God! Doctor wants me to rest as much as possible. No prenatal cla__ses for me. I was a bit bummed out since I was such a fitness freak beforehand...but to be on the safe side I will follow doctor's orders. Trying to follow them as best I can. doctor wants me to rest at work as much as possible. Very difficult since I am a nurse and am on my feet all day. The good thing is...I don't have to lift patients. My fellow nurses have been great. They don't let me lift a finger. But it's still a tiring job, running to and from even without lifting patients... and then standing on the train on the way home...I get a bit nervous at times since I stand so much already. Well, I guess I have to think positive no matter what.

steffanie - March 30

jenny they have been doing ultrasounds all along....but they cant find anything. so im going for a stage 2 u/s on april 1....i will be 18 weeks on friday and ive had like 5 so far!!!! but they havent been able to find anything, so im seeing a specialist and having a stage 2!!!! (im just more excited for this one cause hopefully they will be able to tell the s_x)

Jenny - March 31

April, you worry me with so much activity, but I guess what will happen is going to happen weather we are all overly careful or not, its in Gods hands I firmly believe that. Our babies will be healthy or they won't. Lets just pray they are all healthy and full term. Steffanie good luck tomorrow keep us posted on what happens. Jenn
