hello, pauline and prachi, today there is no sign of blood or spotting (knock on wood) it seems as though it only lasted a day, and it wasn't even a flow of blood, just when i wiped, after the restroom. i've been researching all night, and believe maybe i was experiencing the placenta privia, because now that i think about it, i did experience some stretching the other day. it felt as if someone or something was just pulling on the insides of me. so i'm sure everything is fine, but to have it happen at 5 in the morning without a warning is extremely scarry. i have my next appointment in 2 weeks so i'm sure they'll be able to tell me if there are any problems.

i guess i spoke to soon. earlier today when i did got to the restroom, there was a brown(gooey) dischardge when i wiped. i called the on call doctor again and she said i just have towait tomorrow and see if i can be seen by my doctor. i'm kind of freaking out right now....today is the first day of my 12th week...

Hi Paige - hey at least it wasn't fresh red blood! I had brown discharge too, and a couple of times it was gooey as well. My doctor told me that it was dried up blood coming out, and I had started bleeding on my 14th week. Try not to get too freaked about it, because that's not good for you or the baby. I found my discharge was always on the toilet paper too, never enough to soak through pads. So stay positive girl, and remember....brown discharge is dried blood, so wherever its coming from it must be healing! Keep those feet up. Let us know how you're going. xxx

My doctor removed my cervical polyps and since then, it has been over 1 week, everything is normal, I haven't seen any blood or even anything brown.I'm quite happy. Maybe your guys should ask your doctor to check if you have any cervical polyps ...

I started with a thin line of bleeding on my 15th week and since then it is alternating between red, brown and pink. Sometimes heavy, sometime very light. Tomorrow I will completing 17 weeks and I am bleeding heavily today. My doctor examined and said everything is fine. But asked me to for for an US. She asked me to stop all the exercises. She even asked me not to go for walking until the spotting stops. I have an US scheduled on Wednesday, hopefully everything is fine. Good luck to all of you!

This is amazing that so many are going thru the same problem. I am 13weeks and 6 days and yesterday I went to the toilet and found browinsh/redish blood the size of three fifty cent coints on a pad. It freaked me right out. I went to the hospital and and they checked for fetal heart beat and all was fine-it was a beat of about 170bpm. Now I have a brownish discharge. They say it should all be fine but I cant help feeling very insecure about it all. I did have an u/s last week at 13wks and 2 days and all was well with a very active little bub. I miscarried in April this year at 12 weeks and just seem worried all the time.

Hi Tania - Hi Nitha - yes there are quite a few of us out there! Its only natural to feel worried. We've got a little human life in there! As long as you are under doctor supervision and you've heard the heart beat and seen the movements for yourself, then all that is left is to take it easy to allow the bleeding to slow down. Try to think positive thoughts which is good for you and the baby, because all the worrying doesn't do either of you any good. Keep those feet up. Nitha, good luck tomorrow! Let us know how you go. Cheers Pauline.

Hi Gale - Great to hear your news! Gale how did they detect your cervical polyps? Was it through ultra sound? And are they like fibroids?

Michelle - September 14

Hi all, Well, my brown disch. is getting better, it seems worse in the morning, and then throughout the day its almost gone. WHEN WILL IT EVER STOP!!! I mean, as long as I know all is well, which I basically do, I dont really care. I just want to feel normal again - you know! I am now 16 wks - 2days. I go for my US in 2 weeks. I CANT WAIT. I really think its a boy. Only a male could cause all this panic! (haha) I hope all is well with everyone else. You are all in my prayers! Hey - We should all stay in touch and send pictures when these little guys finally show up!

Prachi - September 14

Pauline, My blood group is O+ and I am into 16 wk 3 days today. So far bleeding has stopped for me. I am happy, but I am talking much care now a days. I am not going for walk or staircase, extra cautious when getting up from bed or bending. Not even lifting 1 kg of weight. Avoiding any jerky movements... I haven't gone outside my home for past 3 weeks. I am eager and keen to go outside, but keeping myself happy and light even being at home all the time. I don't want to stress, worry as it may affect my baby. I am spending time by reading books, magazines, listening to light music, watching TV and having good time with family. All are very supportive and taking much care of me... I think its also important to keep POSITIVE during these time as it makes you strong from inside. Best wishes to all.

Tania - September 15

Hi Pauline/Hi All, Thanks for your words of encouragement Pauline. I really did appreciate it. I seem to be the same as Michelle now-it is worse in the morning then it pans off during the day-only when I wipe myself it the bathroom can I see anything during the day. I have hired a doppler so I can hear bubs heart beat daily-it should arrive tomorrow. At least if I hear bubs heart every day I can stay calm and self a__sured myself. Good Luck everyone and God Bless you all!

Pauline - September 15

Hi Tania, Prachi and Michelle - glad to read your posts! Michelle & Tania - I heard from somewhere that the discharge is usually worse in the morning because the cervix relaxes and it flows more, so it kind of makes sense. There is an old Greek wives tale that says we're having boys if we bleed during pregnancy! I don't know how true it is though. I was thinking about getting a doppler myself for peace of mind. i think it's a great idea. Prachi I'm so glad things are going great! My brown discharge was down to a pin point today so I was really happy about that too. But do you girls get scared before you go to the toilet? I'm always worried about what I might see! But I go in strong and face my underwear expecting the worst. That way it's a great surprise when I see nothing. So I've had the discharge on and off for nearly a month and I'm in my 18th week. We will deliver healthy babies - remember that girls! And I liek the idea of sharing pictures and stuff! That gives us lots to look forward to! keep up the great work girls - our babies will thank us for it one day!

i'm still having the brown gooey stuff when i wipe. in the mornings it's real bad and then it tapers off as the day goes by. today i'm going to have my second blood test done. they thought at first maybe that some of the bloodvessels on my cerivx ruptured but the first blood test came back okay. so now on to the second blood test nd if that's fine then they will do an ultra sound. i' have so many thoughts running through my head. why...why..why? i hope and pray everyday that this spotting/blood stuff goes away, but all I can do is take it one day at a time and see what happens.

Hi Pauline, Cervical polyps are not fibroids, they are kind of harmless little growth (size of a pea) on the surface of cervix, quite common amoung women who had children before. It might due to infection or usual hormone level in your body during pregnancy. Here is a link about it: http://www.nlm.nih.gov/medlineplus/ency/article/001494.htm The doctor can check them by just use a device and look into the virgina. and remove them immediately. It takes less than a minute and no pain. The doctor removed my cervical polyps on Sept 2, since then everythig has been normal, no blood,no browish. Hope this helps and Good luck to you!

Michelle - September 15

Im glad to hear that everyone is doing well. It really is great to have other women who feel exactly how I do! Prachi - We are exactly the same days pregnant. I am 16 3 dys today as well. Due Feb 27. Where are you from. I am in Ontario Canada. Does anyone else get a sore tummy (Uterus I guess) It feels like a burning sensation, and sometimes just feels sore and heavy. I feel like this once and a while, and woder if it has anything to do with the bleeding. Could just be stretching. This is my first, so I have n o idea wha it should ffel like, but sometimes it seems quite sore. Well, I am off to the store to buy some healthy food for this little guy!
