December Mommies Part 2

HI ladies, I am here too. I am going to go back up and respond to a couple of things above realy quick. Clindholm, I moved my dd into a big girl bed at 12 mths and my son into a big boy bed at 14 mths and they both adjusted really quickly with no issues. They both go to sleep really well, no fights or anything. It is good to know that you are immune to the fifth disease. That would be soo scary. I would be so mad if that had happened to me. Jess, I have had c-sections with both of my children and will again with this one. I used Turbo Jam (not sure if you have ever heard of it) and lost all of my baby weight plus an extra 10 pounds after my second. I gained 57 pounds with my first and 53 with my second. So far I have gained 25 and am 23 weeks. Since my previous pregnancies were both 50+ I am really really hoping to keep my weight to 39lbs. 1 lb per week. micsmms how crazy that you just found out you were pg and that you were 5 mths along!!! That is amazing. Tara congratulations on the little boy! So I found out at my 19 weeks scan that we are having another girl. So we will have a 3 1/2 year old girl a 22 mth old boy and a newborn when this little bundle is born. Our due date is December 16th, but will go sometime the week before since I am a c-section. That is it for new news for me. Night ladies.

Bryandi- What is turbo jam? I have never heard of it, but now Im really interested.

clindholm - August 20

Thanks for the info micsmms. I especially like the part about "avoid getting too tired" haha, funny stuff. How is that possible? Anyway, that doesn't mean I'm cutting out the ice cream! Hey Bryandi- I'm curious about the Turbo Jam too. I was lucky last time and lost my baby weight very quickly, I'm not so sure it will be as easy this time. Does anyone remember when they have you do the sugar test? I think I'm due soon, I dread it. Colleen

Jess Turbo Jam is a cardio kickboxing series that is awesome!! It is on the infomercials here in Maine quite often. that is how I found it. After my first was born I was flipping through the stations and happened to see the infomercial playing for it. If you go to Beachbody dot com you can look it up. I where a heart rate monitor when I am working out and with the cardio party videos I burn around 650 calories in a 45 min workout! Sorry now I sound like an advertis____nt. I don't mean to, but I live by the videos. I also am a bashful type of person and don't like going to the gym to work out around other people. Maybe once I got into shape, but not when I am all jiggly after being pg. Colleen, I am doing the glucose test at my next appt. September 15th I will be 27 weeks then.

micsmms3 - August 21

Ok, so do tell about the glucose test. Is it awful?

clindholm - August 21

Micsmms- the Glucose test is horrible. First, you can't eat after midnight, you go to the lab and have your blood drawn then drink this nasty sugary drink and have to wait around for at least an hour then they draw blood again. The thing with me is I normally have low blood sugar. That means that I need to have a good quality protein throughout the day. I have to eat within a few hours of getting up in the morning (nothing sweet) or I will get dizzy and shaky and pa__s out. I felt like total c___p for the entire day the last time I had it done. I can eat sweet stuff (and boy, do I) but I need to make sure I have good meals throughout the day. I actually had a hard time b___stfeeding my lo last time b/c after nursing all night I would be ready to pa__s out as soon as I got out of bed in the morning. I can remember once crawling across the kitchen floor to get to the fridge to grab a piece of cheese. It can also be dangerous, I guess you can go into a hypoglycemic coma. I wonder if there's any other way they can determine if you have gestational diabetes? Anyway, I'm off to my ultrasound today in about 3 hours. Wish me luck girls! Colleen

TaraO - August 21

Hi Girls, I am glad to hear about the exercise video. I too, can only exercise at home. I hate being at the gym. I used a Self Magazine Video which was great!!!They have some great videos on their site and they are relatively low price. Colleen, I wish you lots of luck on your ultrasound. I have been super cranky for like 2 days. I think my husband might think I am crazy- I have been crying easy and for no good reason. I snapped at him quickly yesterday and I had just had it with everything. I feel better today but I think it's partly due to not sleeping well. I am starting to wake up a few times with either heartburn, leg cramps or having to pee. I love being pregnant, but I need the right to complain once in a while!!!! Thanks for always listening!!!! I have to get the glucose test after my next visit, so I will be 27 weeks by then. What week does the 3rd trimester begin - I know some of you are ready to move over there soon. Colleen keep us posted

TaraO - August 21

colleen - how did you make out - I was thinking of you = )

clindholm - August 22

Hey Tara, thanks for asking. The scan went well and my lil guy looks great! No hydrops and I peaked at my blood results and looked like the numbers did not increase so I think I did not get re-exposed. I'm so relieved. I have also been on and off cranky (mostly at work). These hormones just won't quite. I am also sick of getting up at night. Usually to pee and lately I have been getting these wicked headaches that hit me around 3:30 a.m. Hopefully your dh can be patient and understand how difficult being pregnant is. I have felt like total c___p this pregnancy and last time I felt pretty good, so I can't say I love being pregnant (this will be our last one). How are all the other December mommies doing, Jess, Micsmms, Bryandi? I believe the third tri starts at 27 weeks, I am only 24 weeks so I have awhile before I can move over. Colleen

clindholm - August 22

oops, thats "quit" not "quite", duh.

jessb - August 22

Hey Colleen- Glad the scan went well and the little babe is healthy. I hear you about the second pregnancy being harder. I think when you have an little one at home its just harder on your body b/c you are more active. I have stairs in my house now, I didnt have those during the first pregnancy- and that makes everyday more work. I always forget something either upstairs or down stairs. Sometimes I send my 2 yr old to get things :o) How is everyone else doing? I am 25 weeks! I cant believe we are getting close to the 3rd tri. December still feels pretty far away though!!!

clindholm - August 22

Jess- omg, the stairs are killing me too! Sometimes when I have to carry my lo up them, I wonder if I'll make it. She is doing well on stairs, but sometimes still needs me to carry her. I also can't wait to hit the "final frontier" (3rd tri)- 2.5 more weeks. December seems like an eternity. TGIF ladies, can't wait to go home (not that I'm working very hard, haha). Colleen

micsmms3 - August 22

Ladies, I swear, you with little ones already-- I admire you! I can't imagine how hard that would be. I don't have much to update, just rollin' along. 24 weeks today. She is a moving machine I tell you! I had buy some "maternity" clothing as really, I'm running out of options. Found some decent deals at Old Navy, finally I have a pair of jeans!!! I totally outgrew my jeans at least two weeks ago, and have been going through denim withdrawl. I'm just hoping and praying that all is OK with the little one... I'm growing, so I suppose she is too. We are reving up to do a bit of a re-model in the house to make room for baby, which will hopefully be done within the next month. Then we can get the nursery ready to go. Can't wait!

micsmms3 - August 22

The glucose test does sound extreme. I eat in the middle of the night... I guess all the back and forth from waking up to pee makes me hungry! ; ) And I've always enjoyed breakfast. Guess it's just one more thing to look forward to. Colleen- we are on the same baby schedule. When is your due date? Mine is December 13th... (and I checked, it's not on a Friday this year...) Though from when I think the conception was, it's off by almost a week. We'll have to wait and see.

TaraO - August 23

Colleen, Glad to hear everything went well. My lo is now 11 so I am lucky he can help with a lot. I felt terrible having kids that far apart but now I am really excited. My son is great and he is very helpful and eager. We took him to the last us and he talked about how much he wants to teach the new little guy. It's awesome. I am just glad I am young (only 29) enough to do all this stuff over again. I know this new baby likes to be awake in the middle of the night - Really likes it. I am a teacher and right now, If I am tired I can sleep during the day, however I go back to work in a week. As far as clothes. I haven't fit into mine since mid June. However I got some great clothes on ebay. I bid on new clothes with tags and got 12 outfits for 112 and 7 summer things for 77. You just have to bid at the last minute, i was surprised at how many people shopped on ebay - I never did until now. Anyway I hope you all have a wonderful weekend free of leg cramps and full of sleep!!! Talk to you soon

jessb - August 24

Tara- Ebay is great you can find really good deals. I get upset though, when I find something I really like and I dont end up "winning" it. How great your oldest can be your little helper. And in a few years a built in babysitter. :o) Nothing much here. I am having knee problems, they were really bad toward the end of first pregnancy but this is starting pretty early. Its only me left one but it is swollen and killing me. Another thing to make me sit on my b___t more and get fatter, which in turn just makes the knee problem worse.
