It means that your cervix is getting thin. This usually happens at the end of pregnancy or before/during labor. Talk to your doctor ASAP about this if this is what he/she has told you.

A friend of mine is due anytime to have her baby. The doctor tells her today she is 70% efaced but dialated about 3 centimeters...is this correct? I thought you had to be 100% efaced and then start dialating?
