Hi ladies I just had an ultrasound done today and they said it was a girl! I was positive it was a boy because the heartbeat has been in the 130's. Anybody else have this happen??

Congratulations!!!! My son's heartbeats were in the upper 150s and 160s the whole time! :) We didn't find out until we had him so it was a little surprise!

The heartbeat is not an exact science sometimes it works and other times it does not it was right for my first two kids, my third I found out the s_x at 13 weeks so I never thought much about the rate and my fourth was a boy but always had a girl's heartbeat range, now I am pregnant again and the hb is high so we will see in August or July whenever my sono is if it is a girl or a boy God willing.

My doctor told me that the hb is higher in the first trimester than the second. I think that's why it's not always accurate in determining the s_x b/c it depends on how many weeks you are. Mine was in the 150's in the first Tri and now is in the 140's. We were told probably a boy based in the NT scan at 13 weeks, will hopefully know for sure on July 14th. Congrats on your little girl!!!

My daughter's heartbeat started in the 120s and climbed into the 140's and stayed that way until I had her. We heard this ones heartbeat last week and it was in the 140's, so I am wondering if it'll be another girl. Old wives tales are funny. It's all by chance.

My 1st Tri I mine were around 120-125 hb. Now I've entered 2nd Tri and It's jumped to 156-160 :). My doctor said that Its normal, for It to jump around a little In the 1st and 2nd Tri. I'm pretty certain Its a girl as I'm carrying high, and as they say "all over" lol.

I had an appt on Monday and the doctor said the heartbeat sounded "boyish" b/c it was only 135. But today at my ultrasound they confirmed it was a girl, so the heartbeat is not really a good indicator.
