My doctor measured my babies heartrate at 13 weeks, it was 160 per minute. My sister said she thought it was a girl because of the fast heartrate. Any truth to this?

Sorry, it's BS. But she still has a 50% chance of being right!

hi, my husbands grandma was a nurse in the baby section. anyway she said that a faster heart rate was most likely a boy. of course i had an ultra sound that showed it was a boy before this and and she keeps telling me they must have seen the heart rate but I know the doctor never did because the baby wouldn't move the right way. and the midwife just says the heart rate is normal. my husbands grandma is a royal pain in the a__s. and just won't get it through her thick head that she is wrong. lol, o well she oferd free babysitting.

At 13 weeks our baby's was at 163 bpm...my doctor said nothing about it besides that it sounds good and completely normal. A friend is convinced it's a girl since it was so high, but I don't really know what to believe. =)

my babies heartrate at 19.5 weeks was 153.. I think that is kinda in the middle... wonder which way it would go if that wives tale happened to be true.
