This is it ladies...we're all over the first trimester hurdle (officially)...let's keep chatting. I've been doing well, generally except: ~Still having a low appet_te, which means ZERO weight gain so far, but my midwife says no worries...I only need to gain 5lbs by the end of the second anyway. ~Still dealing with some nausea, but I'm thinking it's especially heat related. ~Almost passed out at a county fair...that was weird. I was in Denver, so I think it was heat, alt_tude and dryness. ~Going for my 16 week tomorrow...finally will take the hateful glucose test. I do have to admit that I'm feeling 'good' about the way I look though. My hair and skin are doing the happy dance because of the hormones and I can't complain. Four more weeks till we find out what the baby is. How are the rest of you?

Hi Ladies! Welcome to the second trimester! I am 17w 1d today. I am feeling pretty good. I am a little concerned with my weight gain at this point. At my 12 week I was -3 pounds and at my 16 I was +3. I guess that evens me out but my home scale tells me that I have gained 3 more pounds since then...that would be 3 pounds in ONE WEEK! I am trying to be very careful about what I eat but I was on vacation for two weeks and being out of town, etc...I wasn't as careful as I should have been. We have out 20 week ultrasound on August 26th! We are VERY excited and we already know we are going to find out the s_x (as long as the baby lets us)! I feel like it is a girl (I knew with my son it was a boy the whole time)...so keep your fingers crossed. I have been thinking pink! I am feeling pretty good...not really showing. Some days I feel fat and other days I feel like I look no different than I did 2 months ago. I know that I am growing because although my jeans still fit, my belt is no longer an option. I have NO waistline anymore...I am just thick around the middle. I am impatiently waiting my baby bump! I hope everyone is feeling well and staying cool during the summer!

rpats - August 6

lol. i hear you completely on that. just the other day as i was looking in the mirror, i realized the same thing- i have NO waistline..i am just SQUARE? ugh- i want this "chubby" phase to be over, just give me the belly already! hahaha I am 16w today

Hi all, I'm glad to see we're making the migration over :) Figure? What's that? I went to a soccer match yesterday and though my jeans closed (even over my belly if I want) they were digging in whenever I sat. On the car ride home I undid them...then forgot about it until I had to hop out of my husband's car to pick up my car from the park-n-ride and my pants nearly dropped...lol. I've been recommended either the belly belt (which expands your jeans) or the belly band (which you pull up over your tummy and unhitched jeans)...any thoughts/recs?? My most recent blood tests came back today. Pa__sed the glucose tolerance one with flying colors and the last bit of my quad-screen said 1/55,000 chance for Spina bifada. Now, to just get to the 31st and my 20week to find out what the baby is. I was asked the other day if I was 'excited'. I realized that I'm pretty neutral about all this. I blame most of it on being burned by life horribly over the last two years (trying to stave off the feeling that 'the other shoe' is going to drop, you know?) and the reality is unless I die an old lady before my kid does, I'll probably always sweat things to some extent. Oh, and my hormones are messing with me horribly. Anywho, I did indulge in buying a stuffed animal the other day because I was caught in a fit of baby glee. Anyone feeling the movements regularly now?? I'm feeling movement at least 3-5 times a day. It's usually like a single kung fu punch from a mouse on the inside :) Okay, enough rambling. Take care ladies!

Hello everyone. I hope you don't mind me joining. I'm at 19 weeks now. Still pretty sick. I've been put in the hospital three times for dehydration but I think its starting to go away now. At first it looked like I was just getting fat but now you can really tell there is a baby bump there. I can't b___ton my pants anymore either =( time to go shopping. My fiance was playing his music really loud last night and all of a sudden my stomach felt like I was on a roller coaster. It was the coolest thing ever! We both freaked out and got really excited it was so cute. Everytime he turns the music up now it starts. =) As for random people touching my stomach, YES!! They do it all the time. Its kind of weird. Its not so bad if they give a warning but sometimes they just start feeling. Its kind of awkward. =)

Hey girls.... I went in for my ultrasound today I was 18w3d and my 14 w and this visit my doctor has been trying to see the gender but each time the legs were blocking the view. Anyways so after 10 minutes into the ulrasound. She said she thinks its a girl but I go in again in 2 weeks to double check. I want to buy things so bad already!!!! Pamela861...Its like that with me too! Some days I feel the baby and my stomach is way hard. Then other says I feel nothing. I wish I wasnt gaining any weight geez girls u are lucky, I have gained like 15 lbs already!! Im not a big eater either...which is the weird thing. Anyways Im glad to hear everyone is doing great!!!

rpats - August 13

hey ladies! aww- you are all feeling movement! i havent felt a good solid movement yet. i am 17w today.. so hopefully soon i have a question- what are you ladies doing for stretch marks? I havent gained any weight yet- but I should really start using something as I know it is right around the corner.... just wondering what you ladies may have found that works?

meghanlee - August 13

Hi Ladies. Don't worry rpats...you will feel the baby soon enough. I have felt the baby a couple of times, but nothing really strong or consistent yet. I look pregnant when I am laying on my back or when I have a really full bladder. Other than that...I still feel fat. My stomach is starting to get harder, but its not completely there yet on a consistent basis. I am still also in my regular jeans (I can even b___ton them still) but as some of you have mentioned, sitting for a long time becomes uncomfortable. I have been having trouble sleeping lately. I am a stomach sleeper so having to sleep on my side is making me miserable. I have my ultrasound when I will get to find out if it is a boy or a girl in 13 days! I am 18w 1d right now. Hope everyone is well!

PinkAmerican - August 13

Hey all :) It's interesting to hear how everything is a little different for each of us. I'm finding sleeping more of an issue each night. The only good sleep I get are daytime naps. Don't know why. I've been eating mini-chocolate chip cookies in the middle of the night when I wake with terrible hunger pain...that's despite eating basically right before bed. My back's starting to hurt already...this sucks. I've invested in swim stuff because I think that will be the only happy exercise as I move forward. I received the Belly Belt kit yesterday. It's not as exciting as I thought it would be, but as long as my b___t and thighs don't inflate, I'll definitely be able to convert all my regular pants into maternity ware by simply expanding at the b___tons and wearing long shirts. I've had a lot of people try to push the Bella Band, but the idea of having to pull something up over my belly and then leaving my pants unhooked underneath doesn't appeal. Rpats: as for stretch marks...it's all in the genes. Most research I've read says that if every woman in your family got 'em you probably will too NO MATTER what you do to prevent them. The best way to limit them is try not to gain weight rapidly and keep your belly moisturized so when/if the stretching happens you don't scratch, which apparently makes it worse. Cocoa b___ter and shea b___ter lotions are supposed to be good, but I'd personally recommend getting something with coconut oil (which needs to be warmed slightly to loosen it up) or sweet almond oil. I'd rub it in real good for about 10 mins before taking a shower and only gently rinse it off...let the oil soak in and linger a bit. Again, use it at night before bed, but sparingly otherwise your night clothes will develop an oil build up that eventually will smell rancid no matter how many times you wash. The oil ma__sage does WONDERS for non-pregnant skin too...I'd still do it after birth. I find out the gender on Aug 31st which is exactly 20 weeks for me. I'm not normally a paranoid person, but after that ultrasound comes through clear, I'll finally be able to relax about any outstanding 'defect' issues and such. I need to stay off the internet and the stories about bad 20 weeks scans especially since everything has been totally normal so far. Take care ladies.

rpats - August 14

Totally agree PinkAmerican! I have my 20 week scan on Sept 4th.... i cant wait to get that one done with.... then we are off on a babymoon!!! cant wait for that either! :) thanks for the info on the stretch marks- i will def try that. My mom had 4 kids and didnt have any... and my sister had 3 and got them... so i have a 50/50 chance! LOL

Hi All!! I am so glad to see that we are all into our second trimesters and feeling great! I don't know about you all, but it seems that i have gotten a huge burst of energy these last 2 weeks. I am 18 weeks today!! We go tomorrow for our scan to find out the gender...we're thinking blue!! I will keep everyone posted. I understand what everyone means about feeling "chubby" right now, and i have to say that i have felt the most unattractive in my entire life while i have been pregnant. For some reason i feel like nothing works for me! So frustrating! I too have been feeling the "kicks". I was not for sure if that was kicks or just muscle spasms at first, it was a strange feeling. It happens a lot, so i figured it out pretty quick. I will post as soon as we find out boy or girl...hope the baby cooperates!!

mom2be10 - what's the verdict!

mom2be10 - August 26

Hi everyone! I hope everyone is doing great, and comnig right along! We found out last Tuesday that we are having a baby BOY! My husband was so excited, i think he even did a little dance! I actually starting to get a little more of my energy back and feeling great, now i am just all worried about this "Swine flu" outbreat. I am just praying i don't get it, they say it's so hard on pregnant women. I am just trusting that the Lord will take care of me and the baby!! I hope everyone is doing great!! We are almost halfway there, just hang in there!!!

meghanlee - August 26

Hi everyone! Congrats on the baby boy mom2be10! Also, I hear you on the swine flu, I am a teacher so I am VERY concerned about catching it being around so many germs on a daily basis. I know that pregnant woman have a very hard time with it. Hopefully the vaccine will be out soon and it will be safe for pregnant women. My big news...my husband and I found out today that we are having a GIRL! I am very very excited because we already have out 2.5 year old son! Now we will have one of each! :) I hope everyone is doing well. I am guessing that everyone is feeling great and full of energy and that is why we so rarely hear anything anymore!

rpats - August 27

Aw. Thats so sweet ladies! a baby boy and a baby girl. Very Nice. My husband and I have decided to NOT find out... we are going to keep it a surprise. So I am 19weeks today, and still havent felt a good solid kick. I feel flutters or jabs here and there- but it is so light and quick that before I can think about it, its gone. Can't wait for that good solid kick! haha Everything is going very smoothly... i cant believe next week will already be the midpoint... .wow time flies....
