I am getting my afp test done Monday, I have until Wed when I am 20 weeks to do it and yesterday at the dr the dr said they had filled out the paperwork but I had not gone and gotten it, my fiance asked why and I told him because regardless what it said nothing could be changed and he said he rather me have it because God forbid anything was wrong we could be prepared.

Beth, this is just my opinion, but how much preparation can you really do? Can you cry every night, to make it easier when you give birth to a down syndrome baby? I don't think anything could prepare you for something like that. I personally would rather enjoy my pregnancy, just loving my baby, that being worried to death about something that could just be flat out a wrong test.

Congrats Lucky1, I am glad to hear that everything is good. That is so exciting!!! I have a tears in my eyes everytime I go for an ultrasound, it is just so hard to belleive that that little miricle is growing inside of your belly, it is amazing.

Oh yeah, as for the S_x Drive, it will come back, I didn't have one for the first 3 months or so, but the last month - 2 months, it is back in full swing. I am sure when I get bigger it will go away again, but as for now it is good.

Yeah Congrats Lucky!!! Glad to hear things went well! I cried too today when I heard my little one's heartbeat! I was so relieved! I'm impatient to know whether I'm having a boy or a girl.. but I'm still waiting :)
Hehe, well Ekay.. we shall see if you are right ;) Either way I'm happy as long as the baby is healthy!

Ekay, I pretty much agree with you on that one. . .If my fiance wants it done I rather he get the results and let me be!! :0)

you are right ekay there is not much to do about the AFP test unless you want to get an amnio to find out for sure. There are also false negatives..
I did the test, but I kow i'll panick if it is positive!

Hey, I'll put her picture up on Monday, I'll let you all know. It is a typical U/S pic, you know, the profile view where you can see the head, neck and chest. It was so amazing...watching her move and feeling her move at the same time ( oh and this proves that I was feeling her all this time... I knew it). oh and my baby is not above my belly b___ton like that doctor said Ekay, he was wrong, but thats ok, I'm just so happy right now....

Yesterday when I went in to the dr the baby was right below my belly b___ton!! the dr measured and pushed on one spot put the doppler to that spot and bam it was right there!!

I have to find a girl's name, since I was so sure it was a boy, I didn't really come up with anything. So far I like, Amya Nicole, Paige, Kayla (oh, wait, I made the mistake of telling my sister that and so she named my niece Kayla) I can't use that name. I used to like Paris, but I'm not sure about that anymore.

Lucky, me too! I went shopping today and bought two girl outfits from old navy. They are so cute. I bought me some shorts, it is starting to get warmer here.

Lucky, my fiance's sister recommended that we name the baby Kayla if it was a girl since our boy name is Kaleb!! Who knows it might just happen!! :0)
