Julie- I got the chicken pox back in 1997 on my honeymoon! At the time my boss was pregnant and I exposed her. What we learned is that the farther along you are the better. She was in her 6th month and nothing ever came of it. You can try to keep your distance but good luck with that. This stuff is airborn and I'm sure you're already exposed:( With the vaccine at least its a lighter case..... just listen to what dr. has to say and try not to stress out, it won't make it any better. Be happy that you're out of the first trimester when it could be most damaging. I hope it works out that you stay pox free and all this worry is for nothing:)
Prayn - i'm right there with you! I just rolled into week 13 yesterday and I finally feel justified in being in this forum! Still not feelin' 100% but I'm hopeful I'll get there soon. I got the MMR booster right before I got pregnant with my first kid. I didn't even know that you needed a booster as an adult! I just happened to make an appt. with the dr. to talk about getting preggo and then I found out. Good thing most of the community is immune so your odds are better.

I am offically 13 weeks today!!! WHOO YOO!!!!!! I am SO excited and am finally calming down about everything. I had another drs appt on Friday (I go every other week) and I got to hear the heartbeats via doppler. 1 is always a LOT louder than the other, the dr said this may be a good indicator of how they will be when they are born. And I had another u/s, I CAN NOT believe how big they are getting. I compared the pics from Friday to the ones I had just 3 weeks ago and they have more than tripled in size. Both babies are just about 3 inches from crown to rump. I am so happy both babies are the same size, 1 is .2mm smaller, but thats OK. I had read that if 1 twin is way bigger than the other then chances are both wont make it. Now I am still waiting to find out the s_xes. At my next appt I will be 14w5d so maybe I will be able to see?.... I dont care if the dr even tells me hes only 70% sure until my next appt - I just want a hint :)
Well enough about me. How is everyone else feeling? I hope everyones m/s has gone away and you are feeling the burst of energy thats suppossed to be coming.
Julie-HEar anything from the dr yet?

Hi ladies. Thanks for the info and kind words. I haven't heard from the doctor yet about my immunity results, and am following up Monday afternoon if I haven't heard anything by then. I have done quite a bit of reading about this since my last post. The risks if I'm not immune and contract it are there but not as high as I had imagined, so that makes me feel better. Less than 2% of babies of women who contract it are affected, at least according to what I found on-line. I am 15 weeks along, so still in the high end of the risk group though, which I guess drops off after 20 weeks.
On the plus side, my oldest is doing great. If it weren't for the spots you wouldn't know anything was wrong. He's hardly even itchy. So the case is quite mild and I'm thankful for that.
Is everyone else doing well? I haven't thrown up in about 24 hours so the m/s seems to be easing....lol

I just got my call for my apointment for ultrasound... looks like even out of town they cant get me in till the end of June! That would make me 18 weeks, and if Im further along, too far along to book amnio, or do the triple test... I called my clinic and they are going to try for a city nearby. Who'd have thought Id have to drive 2.5-3.5 hrs away to get a prompt U/S...
I cant wait to hear what everyone is having! I cant wait to se why Im so big, and if theres one baby or two!
Anyone else larger at 13 weeks? My uterus is just above my belly b___ton, about small cantelope sized... Ill be 14wks thursday. Honestly, every morning I feel bigger..its surreal. Maybe its cause its my third? Or my age? I still havent gained anything more than 2lbs.

I am VERY large for 13w2d, but I am having twins - they are my first though. I have only gained 2-3 pounds as well. I hope you can get in ASAP for a u/s!

I am also large for 16w6d. Everyone thinks i'm like 6-7 months. This is my first baby and there is only one that I am aware of right now. Every ultrasound i've had have only shown one baby, but the tech told me that they could be wrong. I find out the s_x of the baby June 17th. I've only gained 2 pounds as well.

FINALLY! I am in next thursday, about 2.5hrs from here at 8:30am! It will be an early start! Im SO excited, SO nervous too! I dont think I get to find out what it is... Ill be 15 weeks that day.
Its so odd how we can all be so varied in size... Numommy-- could we just have tonnes of amniotic fluid??

CONGRATS!!!!!! On getting your appointment and not having to wait so long even though you have a drive ahead of you, but it's totally worth it. You may be able to find out the s_x though i've read that people were able to find out the s_x at 15 weeks, maybe you will get lucky. But I was thinking the same thing maybe we do have tons of amniotic fluid.

Hola! Bought another $250 worth of maternity clothes yesterday. Gosh they're expensive, especially considering you only wear them for 6 months! All of my kids I carried differently. The first two I was huge, and i was very uncomfy at the end as a result. My last one though I was small, looking about 6 months preggo at the end. I never felt uncomfy with her and she was fine at birth, 7lb 2 oz. This time I am more like the first two. But, some of mine is still bloating. My uterus measures just right. If your uterus measures bigger then there's something to it. If you just look bigger and you're measuring right on then maybe you'll just even out later. If its not your first I think your body remembers what to do and boom!!
gaer- your dates would be really off!!!!! But, that would be awesome to get to "skip a month!" I had to repeat week 12 and I'd much rather be in your boat! Do you live somewhere rural? Oh, and I found out the s_x of my second baby at 15 weeks, and the third at 17 weeks so there's definitely a chance that if you get a nice tech they may tell you:) I'm dying to know right now and I still have like 6 weeks:)

GloriaD: Im in small town in canada. Im being sent to a smaller city west of us for my ultrasound.
My G/F said your uterus should be by your navel at 20 weeks, not 13... but I know my dates... Ill just go with fluid for now. :)
I still cant get over it... I couldnt feel my uterus like this with the other two kids...
Im so excited, I really felt my girls were girls, and I feel this one is a boy, I want to know! :)
Youre right too, Mat. clothes are expensive. I just got some basics for about $400...

I am dying to know what I'm having! I'm still so sick--I'm on two anti-nausea meds and still threw up twice today (I'm 16 weeks). I see the doc this Friday, and hopefully will find out the gender at my next appointment in a month.

Hi all, I am 17 weeks now. Last week I had an u/s in which the Dr said everything is fine for the baby except the white spot (a tiny echogenic focus) identified near my baby's heart. However in the report it is mentioned that this is a fibrous deposition with no pathological significance. The Dr said there is nothing to worry about but we cannot help worrying. I read through the echogenic focus section of this site and it helped me to reduce my tension. Yesterday I gave my blood for triple test to confirm everything is normal and will get the result after one week. Crossing my fingers I am waiting for the result. Hope everyone else is doing good.
