sbea- I am officially due October 1st. Just barely making into this forum lol! I say officially because we had our u/s on May 19th and our midwife confirmed that date! When are you due? Also, do you know what you are having? I understand how thinking of being closer and closer can cause panic. I am no longer working and I find it incredibly difficult to get ready for this baby, even with all of this time I have now. There is so much to do and so little time to do it in! I find there is always more and more on my mind. We still need a crib, dresser and so much more! I am trying to wait for my baby shower to buy more things though. DH is starting to realize how much babies cost...and that sends him into a panic LOL!!! I am trying to talk my mom into having the baby shower earlier rather then later, that way we can set up and be as ready as possible for his arrival. Also so if there is anything else we need after that, I will still be sort of comfortable to go get it! She seems to be set on having it in late august or early september. I pleaded with her to please have it in august, I suppose we will see.

Dicegirl - Hey girl! Glad you made it...haha. I am due Oct 20 but should be having my twin boys around the end of September. I am having my shower July 25. Doc said I should still be comfortable then. She said it may not be a good idea to have it later on. Tell you mom you will feel better with having it earlier. :o)

Okay, so I had submitted my response and then it logged me out. Di- I am due September 29th. However, my due date has been changed so much that the end of September beginning of October I am due. I had a due date of October 7th for the longest time and here I am again with my original due date. As for finding out the s_x of the baby, DH and I (okay Me) chose not to find out. I do think we are having a boy. It is just a feeling I have; plus I think I saw a little p___s and s____m. I know I am not an ultra sound tech, so in approximately 17 weeks I will find out if I am correct. I am also not working right now. I have also decided I don't want to work part time either. I thought I might but now I don't think I will. I have had a bladder infection but that is it. I couldn't get over my cold's and they were really bad. I don't really want to go back and deal witht eh general public and co-workers because they come into where you work even when they are sick. I don't know why they do, when most people know that pregnant women have a weakened immune system. I just started to gain weight also. I am 23 weeks and i have gain 3 pounds. I didn't gain any weight until I was off work. Hope you convince your mom to have the shower early.

OK, I hate to do this because we've been talking about so much good stuff lately, but I have to ask a question about a lovely side effect. Are any of y'all having yeast infections? My doc said early on that I could use over-the-counter stuff for it, but now looking online, they say not to - but everybody says that because they don't want to get sued. And he didn't differentiate between one, three, or seven day treatments. Can I use the stuff I just got (one day)? (And I've already treated two in the last four months - one with a three day and one with a one day. Ugh.) I never got these before being pregnant either. They are awful!

sbea - June 3

I haven't had any Yeast infections. I have just been really sick often. Sorry I can't be any help. I know my pregnancy book said they are more common because the v-j is now basic instead of acidic to kill anything foreign. If the doctor says you can take the over the counter stuff you should. I would do the shortest because I am impatient. Hope you figure out what to do.

Dicegirl15 - June 4

Sorry...I suppose I have been VERY lucky with not getting any Yeast infections! I read in my pregnancy book to keep your (as sbea put it perfectly) v-j...as dry as possible. So now when I go to the bathroom I am extra careful to wipe more times then actually needed. I don't know if that will be of any future help or not, it just seems to be working for me. I have a question also. Is anyone else finding it hard to sleep and stay asleep? My entire life I have been able to fall asleep with no problem and sleep and sleep and sleep. My husband was envious of me in that regard. Now it seems it takes me a while to fall asleep, and then about 3-4 hours late I get up for my first pee of the night LOL! Then when I get back into bed, I can not for the life of me fall back asleep!!!!!!!!!!! It is driving my mad! Then I find that around 6:30-7 (when my husband gets up and leaves for work), I get tired. I go back to bed and sleep until 10 or 11. I hate it so much. I wish that I could just sleep. Is any one else having this same problem?

OK, I found some places that said the topical medicines and suppositories are fine. It's just oral medicine that's out. I also heard that limiting sugar intake can help. I'll try that, too. I have tried all the "keeping dry" stuff already. As for sleeping, I've found that if I have to wake up to pee, then I'm awake for a while. So I limit the amount I drink after about 8pm (I don't go to bet until 10 or 10:30) and that helps because I don't have to wake up in the middle of the night to pee, and I can sleep until about 6:30.

sbea - June 4

Oh sleep... I don't think my body is letting me so I can be prepared for a baby. I can't sleep. I am so tired and I can't fall asleep and stay asleep. I have some nights where I fall asleep and stay asleep until I am in so much pain because I didn't get up during the night to pee. But it is rare.I am peeing at least 3 to 5 times a night. No wonder I am so tired all the time. I make myself get up when my husband does or when he leaves. So that can give me an extra hour of sleep. I hear it will only get worse. I find I have so much back pain. I am trying to get used to sleeping with pillows but I am more comfortable on my back or my tummy. Bad I know. I used to sleep on my side all the time but now I can't. It is so odd how much I have changed. I don't know if it is for the better or the worst. Well I hope all of you get some really good sleep soon. As we are going to need to be rested for what is about to happen.

les706 - June 4

I know what you mean! I was ALWAYS a belly sleeper but I quit that right after I found out I was pregnant. So then I would alternate back or side, and then I read that it's not good to sleep on your back. Well I have been trying to train myself to stop sleeping on my back and I just can't! For some reason I am so uncomfortable on my side, and I keep waking up and realizing I am on my back. Then as soon as I roll over onto my side, I have to pee. It's definitely not fair our hubbies get to sleep like babies (no pun intended). Well on another note, tomorrow I find out what I'm having! Yay!!! I'll let you know.

Dicegirl15 - June 4

My body just won't let me sleep either, it is the most frustrating thing EVER!!!!!!! Only once in a great while, like you, I won't have to get up to pee. And then I wonder...is something wrong? I didn't pee, is that okay? Then I just figure I didn't drink as much as usual or something. I am also VERY uncomfortable sleeping on my side. I find that I can fall sleep on my side, and then always wake up on my back. I suppose my body just must be more comfortable that way! I never thought anything of it until I read online that you shouldn't be sleeping on your back when you are pregnant. This of course freaked me out because my body just wants it that way. So, I called my midwife and she said it was fine. That if you get out of breath roll onto your left side and see if that helps. I find that I can breathe just fine no matter how I am sleeping. (That is if I can sleep!) Your body knows what is best and will do as it pleases, LOL!

DiGiacomo - June 5

Hey ladies! I had a hard time sleeping early on, but things seem to be better now. Although, I am finding I wake up in the middle of the night to pee (and to feel the baby moving). I was ALWAYS a side sleeper and now I wake up sleeping on my back. I try sleeping with a body pillow, but I always end up on my back. Also, we had our ultrasound yesterday afternoon. We weren't going to find out, but it was SO obvious. lol We're having a boy!! He was so active the sonographer (sp?) was having a hard time checking the organs and things. Well, this seems to be the time of the year for boys. Nice hearing from everyone! Les, can't wait to hear what you're having!

Dicegirl15 - June 5

YAY!!!!! Another boy! Di that is so exciting. When we found out we were having a boy it was all my husband could do to not let me shop that very day! Now that we know, I buy little things here and there, but I am trying to wait until after my baby shower to buy too much more. I am so happy for you, you must be so excited! About that sleeping thing. I guess that two nights of no sleep really hit me. I sleep VERY well last night. I still got up twice to pee, but fall back asleep both times. Thank God for that! I really needed a good nights sleep! In fact, I just got up a half hour ago, LOL! Les- I can't wait to find out what you are having! It is one of the most exciting things ever when you see that little person on the screen. I liked finally seeing what has been going on in there, perfection!

Dicegirl15 - June 5

OOps, I meant to say slept very well last night, not sleep very well. LOL! Also meant to say that I fell back asleep not fall. OMG, I must have a good case of baby brain today LOL!!!!!!

sbea - June 5

Oh boy. I am so tired. I woke up so many times and I couldn't fall asleep. The baby would kick me whenever I found a comfy position until I moved. And then I peed so much. My brain is fried. DI- A boy!!! That is so awesome! I can't wait to see what the rest of us are having (those who aren't finding out). Almost 16 weeks left to go for me. It is coming up fast.

DiGiacomo - June 5

We weren't going to find out, but it was SO obvious on the ultrasound. Even to mine and David's poorly trained eyes, the baby's s_x organs were very obvious. lol I wish I had had the patience to keep it a surprise, but oh well. I can't believe you're 16 weeks already sbea! Wow, it does go fast. Dice, we went out right away and bought some little sleepers and an outfit. I was so excited I couldn't help it! I think I'll take your advice and gather up slowly. I almost don't even want a baby shower as I want to pick everything out myself! lol How selfish of me. I also LOVED seeing our little guy wiggle on screen. Everyone keeps telling me it's too early to feel movement for a 1st pregnancy, but I definitely have felt it (about a dozen times in almost 2 weeks or so). Happy sleeping everyone! ;)

Dicegirl15 - June 5

Di- How far along are you? I started feeling little flutters when I was around 15 or 16 weeks. (I am 23 weeks now.) It wasn't everyday or all the time like it seems to be now, but it was definite! People can tell you all they want that it is too early to feel anything, but they are not the ones feeling it. You know what you feel, don't let them tell you differently. Isn't it excited to feel the baby move? I love it, even when it keeps me up. I am sure that will rub off soon LOL! I will soon be yelling at my belly to must rest and let mommy sleep hehehe! sbea- I feel so bad for you, not being able to sleep. I finally got a good nights sleep last night, it was needed. I am sure that means I am in for it tonight! I hope your little one lets up and lets you sleep tonight! I know what you mean about finding a comfortable position and then kicking occurs. It is awesome to feel but also sort of annoying when you just want to sleep. I don't know how you would feel about limiting how much you drink before bed to lessen how many times you need to get up and pee. I personally just can't do it, I HAVE to drink. If I limit myself I fear I will "need" it or something...I might just be weird LOL. Les- I am on the edge of my seat here LOL!
