Di- How far along are you? I started feeling little flutters when I was around 15 or 16 weeks. (I am 23 weeks now.) It wasn't everyday or all the time like it seems to be now, but it was definite! People can tell you all they want that it is too early to feel anything, but they are not the ones feeling it. You know what you feel, don't let them tell you differently. Isn't it excited to feel the baby move? I love it, even when it keeps me up. I am sure that will rub off soon LOL! I will soon be yelling at my belly to must rest and let mommy sleep hehehe!
sbea- I feel so bad for you, not being able to sleep. I finally got a good nights sleep last night, it was needed. I am sure that means I am in for it tonight! I hope your little one lets up and lets you sleep tonight! I know what you mean about finding a comfortable position and then kicking occurs. It is awesome to feel but also sort of annoying when you just want to sleep. I don't know how you would feel about limiting how much you drink before bed to lessen how many times you need to get up and pee. I personally just can't do it, I HAVE to drink. If I limit myself I fear I will "need" it or something...I might just be weird LOL.
Les- I am on the edge of my seat here LOL!

Haha sorry ladies. Yesterday was a crazy day. After finding out, I got a rush appointment with a urologist for this bladder infection I can't get rid of. Then a graduation party at night. But the verdict is... Same as most of you!!! It's a boy!! I made hubby take me to babies r us to buy our first little boy outfit. So crazy how many boys there are in this forum! Now we are just waiting to see if he's a redhead, like me. LOL I hope not cause redheaded boys always seem to be bullies.

Les- LOL to redheaded boys being bullies. That is so funny! If it makes you feel any better, one of my best friends from middle schools brother is a redhead, and he is FAR from a bully hehehe! WOW! Another boy, that is too funny! It is so exciting also...I am so happy for you!

Hey everyone, oh boy am I exhausted. I just got back from a family camp with my church. It was a great weekend but I am tired and a little sunburnt.
Dice, I want to limit how much I drink before i go to bed, but then I just wake up the same amount of times and all I want is a gla__s of water. I get so thirsty. I am going to mention this to the doctor when I go. Maybe I can get him to test me for Diabetes sooner than 26 weeks. I can drink 4 litres of water and it doesn't seem like enough. Now I have always been a water drinker, like I will down a litre in one sitting but now I am hyper vigilant since getting pregnant. And being thirsty all the time is a sign of Diabetes. Also a lack of weight gain ( have only gained 4 pounds in total) and I want to sleep after I eat. My dad is a diabetic and he feels the same way as me after I eat.
Anyway, I have a question for everyone. I have started to produce colostrum. Have any of you started as well? I am going to be 24 weeks this week. However, I have one b___st (Right one) it is larger and when squeezed there is colostrum but my left one is still smaller and nothing comes out. I wonder if that is normal. I even noticed I leaked into my bra today. I am glad it is padded because I would have secreted through my shirt. How embarra__sing when the baby isn't even here yet.
Les- Congrats on the baby Boy!
munch - I hope your baby girl is confirmed soon!
Hope all of you are well!

Girls! Sorry I have been MIA for like 3 weeks! Things have been so crazy at work (i.e. bad)... and then my in--laws came to visit. Or should I say the outlaws. Ugh. I'm glad it's over. (Sorry, some of you may think I'm a bad person, but I could write a book about it). I can't believe so many boys! Funny, cause one of my good friends is due about 10 days after me and she's also having a boy!!! LOL!
I'm glad to see there are other Canadians too here! I live in Ottawa.
It's good that everyone is feeling OK (other than tired of course). Going to my OB tomorrow; my ultrasound revealed that the placenta was low so I'm sure she will refer me for another u/s. Also, last week, I got worried cause I didn't feel the baby as much... I eventually lied down and was able to feel him move quite a bit. I think I just too stressed from work.
Anyway, keep in touch!

Hey guys!!! Sorry I have been MIA for a couple of days...I'm here munchmom!!! lol For whatever reason, I cannot log on at home. Neither computer will let me and I have tried to change the settings. I am still working on it though. For now, I can only log on at work.
Munchmom - that great it may be a girl!!!! I hope so!! That sucks that she was a bad sono tech. You should ask for your money back..hehe..but at least you got to go! I hope they confirm everything for you today. Have you found out any more about getting in to see Dr. Z any sooner? I hope so.
We went to see George Strait/Reba/Leann Womack/Blake Shelton on Saturday night. I guess the babies liked or hated the music because they were poking me alllll night long..haha. I hate that I cannot distinguish between which one it is that is active at the time. I haven't felt the flutters or bubbles in weeks. Now, they are pokes or bumps. So far, everything seems to be going well. I can't wait for our next appt., which is next Thursday at 3:20. We go for another sono and visit. I took off from work last Wed and Thrs so I would have 5 days off to clean. When we had our hardwood floors refinished, we had to shove everything into one room in the back. Now, I am trying to sort stuff out before I get put on bed rest (if it happens) and before the boys get here. Depending on the area you live in Ft. Worth, a lot of the houses are old. Ours was built in 1928. The guy whow sold the house to me covered the hardwoods with carpet...I hate carpet. So, when we tore up the carpet (thanks to our puppy learning where and where not to pee), we found that the dumba__s before us painted the walls w/o covering the floors. The wood is in great condition for being original, so we had it stained to a semi-dark stain. I grew up in houses like these, so I love them and the porches.
Well, I guess I will stop the novel at this for now...lol Munchmom, I can't wait to hear the final outcome...I hope it is a girl!!!!! Ladies, I have been lucky enough not to have any yeast infections either. I did have a bladder infection in the beginning. I do not sleep well anyways, but it has gotten worse since I have become pregnant. I get up between 1a - 2:30a to go pee and DH is souuuuund asleep...lol I went to bed last night at 11p after watching Forensic Files, and have been up since 2:30a. I was watching TV until I had to go to work at 7a this morning. DH said I was crazy...lol I am a back sleeper too and find it hard to sleep on my sides. My doc said that if our moms slept on their backs, then why should it have to change? Which I can agree....I think that it's how society changes and worries. I sleep on my back for a bit then roll over on my left side. They say left side is better than the right side for the mom.
Ok...so I extended the novel a bit more...haha

sbea- That scares me a little with the talk of diabetes. I have also only gained 4 pounds, and that was early on a little after 14 weeks. It isn't that I haven't been eating either. Also, I find that I too am thirsty. I drink water mostly too. At first I found it difficult to get my 8 gla__ses a day, but I believe I am exceeding that now. I really hope I don't have gestational diabetes. But I am at greater risk for it because my Mom had it with all three of us and she has diabetes now...SCARY!
Jaqi- It sounds like you are having the same thing as me. It seems as though my baby is "kicking" more than moving. It used to be that I could tell when he was moving or somersaulting LOL...but now mostly just kicking and jabbing. My friend said that is normal and they are still moving, but kicking as they move so that is what you feel. I am going to ask my midwife to make sure!
On another note...I have and appointment today!!!!!!! I really enjoy going to them. I think it is because I get to be rea__sured that everything is alright in there! We will be talking about the ultrasound we had on May 19th...even though I already know everything is great with him because I called to make sure! I really hate how the technician can't tell you anything, that you have to wait for your doctor!!
Anyhow, it is great to see that everyone is doing well!

Dice - yeah, I feel like I have a Kung-Fu movie going on inside of me...lol Or maybe they will be soccer players like me! It's crazy how real it makes everything feel! I seem to only feel it when I am sitting....maybe they are being squished..lol I too love going to my appts, so that I can see them on the sono or at the very least, hear their HBs. I am very anxious because my appt is next Thrs and I want it to hurry up and get here!!! DH laughs at me because I count down to them being here in 2 different ways: 1) By saying we are ___ mos along (5 right now), and 2) How many weeks are left until 36wks is here (15 tomorrow) lol I am a nut but it keeps me excited! My goal it to make it to 36wks so they are "full-term." That is unless they punch or kick a hole through my tummy first! I am going to paint my stomach like a big soccer ball...lol

Hey CgGirl, I think you commented on why we can't find out the s_x of the baby in BC. I found out why! They were finding that in the lower mainland (Vancouver area) that there is a large oriental population was finding out the s_x of the baby and we terminating pregnancies because of it. So the government decided unless it wasn't medically necessary you can't find out. Though now there are private clinics popping up and you can pay to find out, But it is expensive.
I can't wait for my next doctors appointment. It is next tuesday. That is very exciting!

So I just got back from my appointment. I have gained 4 more pounds! Making my total weight gain so far 8 pounds. It seems so silly to say, but it is such a relief that I have gained more. Also, since I am at high risk for gestational diabetes, I had the glucose test today. My friend had me all worried that it was awful and that I might throw it up. Wow, it is nothing at all! If you like orange soda, this is basically just flat orange soda. Plus it was hot out and it was something cold to drink, so I liked that. LOL! I am happy to have that over with, but since I did the test early, I will have to do it again later on. But now I know not to dread it, thank God!
We talked about the ultrasound and everything is great. He is in the 50th percentile, which I guess is really good. He is right where he needs to be! We got to listen to his heart beat again, it is 160 bpm, just where it has been my entire pregnancy. We also went and took a tour of the birthing center. That was fun! What I really like about this hospital is there is NO nursery! The baby stays with you the entire time you are there, I love that! So everything seems to be fine with the baby and myself. Now all I have to dread for the time being is the test results of the glucose!

Jaqi~~~~ its a GIRL he confirmed it today!!! OMG I am so excited. now my little man has a little sister. OMG my hubby was in there and had the biggest smile on his face. he could not quit smiling. everyone was telling me girl, but since i felt the same as with my little boy i was thinking boy. but i guess not. she is very healthy by the looks of the sono. she is measuring a little behind. i am 19weeks and 6days but she is measuring 19weeks and 4 days and is 10 oz. the doc said no big deal though he did not change my due date. i guess we will pick a date for the c section later. i go back in 4 weeks the normal i guess. This little girl was moving and kicking her b___t off during the sono. she has been moving on a regular now. I first felt it at about 17 weeks, now my hubby and son can feel it. its so cool. i love it. Good luck ladies i will be back later my sister is going to be emailing me in a minute.

Hey girls!
I started the second half of my prenatal cla__ses last night. We were supposed to take them later, but due to that cla__s being cancelled and us going to Halifax at the end of August, we had to start them now. Boy, I am SO not ready for this. I guess it's because I'm not even 20 weeks yet, but I was so scared thinking about labour and birth last night...and seeing pictures. Does any other first time moms (or even already moms) get anxious about that? It scares me silly when I think about it. I'm sure it will pa__s as I get further along.
My baby was measuring 2 days behind as well, munchmom, AND he was moving around constantly! Isn't that just awesome to see? I wish I could feel it as much as he seems to be moving.
Sbea - isn't that crazy about BC?! If the gov't had to step in, it must have been happening a lot.
Dice - I can't gain weight either. I only go in once a month to see my family doctor, and next appt is next thurs, and my belly HAS popped out significantly since then, but my last appt I had only gained 2 lbs in 4 months. I'm 20 weeks Sat. I seem to be quite a bit behind everyone here. I'm at least 6 weeks behind everyone in our prenatal cla__s, too. lol That makes it feel like this pregnancy is going even slower.
Jaqi - I don't know how you work on no sleep. I can barely get up in the mornings after 9 hrs! I used to live off 4-6 hrs a night. Not anymore!
Sbea - Wow, you're leaking already! I guess it's different for everyone. Now I know I should be wearing pads as early as 24 weeks.
Cg - I'm in Ottawa, too. Giving birth at the civic. How about you?
Until next time, ladies. Happy sleeping/peeing/drinking, etc. :)

WOW! I am so stupid! I just typed a comment and then closed it out, DUH!!!!!!
Di- I was saying LOL....Yes I too am worried about labor and giving birth. I haven't started taking cla__ses just yet, but I worry that once I see the pictures and videos it will panic me. (I am sure not really, but who knows?) My husband and I took a tour of the birthing center where we will be having our baby, and seeing everything there made me more nervous and anxious. I try to just put it out of my mind until I am closer or until it is happening. Although I am sure that watching back to back episodes of a baby story on tv doesn't help LOL!
I have started getting ready for baby's arrival...tomorrow I will be 24 weeks, wow that went by fast! Ever since I was young, around 15 or 16...I have been buying baby clothes. It was sort of a sickness. I would go into the baby section and whatever was on sale and cute, I would buy it! I don't know why I did that, but now I am glad I did! I have so much of all sizes! Going through and organizing all of these baby clothes has been a lot of work, but so much fun! It makes me excited to bring our little guy home and dress him up! So, being excited almost drowns out what's in the back of my head...labor and delivery! Although I have been doing this, I find there is always more to do and more things to get. Does anyone else feel this way? Just when I think I have thought of everything, I remember...oh yeah, we need a crib mattress, more pants, little sweaters... a new vacuum!!! I decided I am just going to make a list of all the things and cross them off as we get them. Ugh!

DiGiacomo & Dicegirl15 ~~~ this is my second baby and I am also scared of the delivery. But I am more scared of the surgery. I have to have a repeat c section. My first was breech with his feet first so that is why i had to have the c section. I was thinking that I would try for the VBAC but dumb me I googled natural chidbirth and that scared the holy c___p out of me. I still thought that I would give it a try because I wanted to at least say that I tried it. But after talking with differnent doctors and my mom who is a nurse I think that I will just settle with another c section. I am 20 weeks and 1 day as of today. We go on a tour of the hospital in about 6 to 8 weeks. I am excited for that. I have been shopping my b___t off also. I have not bought that many clothes yet, because my mom and sisters are going crazy with that. I did get the stroller carseat travel system, cute little pink swing, and ba__sinett pack n play. Were at the half way mark and that is so exicted.
I love the fact that I have not gained that much weight. Each time I go in to the doc its like every 4 weeks the nurse tells me that I only gained a pound. Thats great being that I gained 45 pounds with my first.
