So I had my doctors appointment yesterday. It was great, went well. I also got to hear the baby's heart beat. It was great but I could tell right away that it is even slower than the last time. I wasn't concerned since he made the comment "Sounds like a boy". So we laughed and said we will see what the s_x is at birth. Not knowing the s_x for me is making me want to get the birth over with so I can find out. I am so excited.
Well I hope everyone is well.

sbea- That would be so funny if you are indeed having a boy. Seeing as how so far there is only one girl on here, that I can think of off hand! It must really be that October is "boy month" LOL! I am excited for you to find out also!
My husband and I went out shopping today. I of course had to go to the baby section to see what was new or what we "had to have" for him hehehe! We ended up buying the bedding for his crib! I am so excited about it. We got the bedding set, comforter, crib sheet, bumper pad and dust ruffle. We also go the matching mobile and a matching receiving blanket! We decided to go with dinosaurs...plus this particular set is adorable. We got it at Kmart, so cute! Now I am wondering where I am going to find wall art or stickers that match it alright and a rug or something. Perhaps curtains would be nice as well, we will see.
I hope all is well with everyone else! I will be 25 weeks tomorrow, weird how fast it is all coming together!

Hi Girls! I had my ultrasound yesterday, baby looks perfect, measuring exactly with my due date, etc. We held firm and did not find out the gender. I didn't see a p___s but then again if I did I probably wouldn't have known that was what I was looking at anyway! THe heartbeat is still in the 160's and my boys were always 140's, so my hunch is a girl. We'll see! Oh also, found out my placenta is in front of my uterus that is why I can barely feel any movement...what a relief! I have been so worried! I guess I am lucky with that because I don't have a baby keeping me up all night kicking me! :)

I just wanted to come on and say hi, also to see how you ladies were doing.
I am doing good and so is this little girl. WOW I did not know that I am the only one on the OCtober board that is having a GIRL! Thats so strange, all the moms on here and everyone but me having a boy. Funny hun.
Jaqi~~ Have not seen you post in a while, how are you and the boys doing? I hope that all is well with you.
MNMOM~~ wow you are not finding out, thats good, I had to know. I think I was just ready to stop calling her a baby and start calling her by her name, oh yeah and also to shop. You know the old wives tale say that a high heartbeat means girl, my little girls was always in the 160's. Good luck on which ever little precious it is.
Dicegirl15~~ you sound like me. I was in a=such a hurry to buy the first little pink something. I guess it made it like yeah its a baby in there and she is a girl.
sbea~~ congrads on your great doc app.

The heart beat thing is tricky I think. I had heard that if it is 140s or so then it could be a boy and in the 160s a girl. Since the first day we could hear our little one's heart beat, it was always in the 160s. I thought for sure that meant that he was a girl, but nope, he is a boy LOL! I guess I just wouldn't be too hopeful because you never know!
MNMOM- Wow you have a strong will power not to find out. You and Sbea, I am so surprised by both of you! I wish I had that will power...good for you guys!

Well Dice the next baby I won't have a choice about finding out or not. It will have to be a surprise no matter what.
As for the baby's heart beat, I was talking to my mom and she said she suspected I was a girl because I have a high 150 hb and then for my brother that was right after me she thought he was a boy because of his hb it was low 120 hb. Well when she got pregnant with my middle sister (3rd baby) she thought she was a girl because she had the same hb as me. And well she was a girl so it work 3 times. Then my mom got pg a 4th time and the hb was low 120s and for sure thought boy. Well when it was a girl my mom told the doctor to check again. So we will see what happens in the end. We have names for both possibilities.
Mnmom I am excited I am not the only person who didn't find out. Now to wait and see. Makes me want the time to pa__s by quickly so I can find out and meet this little boy or girl. Do you have a suspicion on the s_x of the baby?

Hey ladies!
Yea, Sbea and Mnmom, you are SO strong. I tried not to find out and gave in at the u/s (plus it was obvious).
dice - you can get wall stickers at Michaels and Chapters. They have really cute ones at Chapters, actually. That's what we're going for. I was going to draw characters and paint the walls, but we don't own and it's so much work just to paint over it when we move (next baby).
munchmom - I bet you're excited about getting to buy cute little dresses and outfits! I would be too, but I don't want to have a little girl like I was (stubborn and rebellious). Scary thought. lol
I had my appointment yesterday, so that was nice. I got a ma__sage therapy referral, which means we can have it covered under my husband's plan. Also means when the pain gets so bad, I can get relief and not kill David's hands. But, I gained 9.5 lbs last month! Total being 12 lbs, but 9.5 lbs in a month! That scares me. I know I'm still somewhat behind in weight gain, but I didn't want it to happen all at once!
Kepp healthy everyone. Talk to you all later!

DiGiacomo ~~ you are so right, I had gotten 2 outfits before whe knew she was a girl, they were light green. Then I bought the first little pink dress for her las week, I think that I am going to let her take her first picture in it. There has not been a little girl in my family in 6 years. So everyone is so excited and buying all kinds of pink dresses, skirts and things. Its so nice. Even though I wonder about her bc i gave my mom hell as a teenager.
Wow how did you get a message therapy referral? That sounds nice. I am going to have to look into that.
I am kind of excited because my shower will be in about 2 1/2 weeks. I am excited because this will be my first baby shower.

So I had another ultrasound today (#11) and my cervix got shorter again. At week 15 I was measuring 3.2cm, today I am measuring 2.2cm. So now my perinatologist has to talk with my OB about what to do, either progesterone shots or cerclage. I am kinda leaning towards cerclage because I haven't read too much about progesterone shots, except in conjunction with bedrest which I am hoping to avoid. So scary though. I am 21 weeks today and I think this little guy just can't wait to make his grand entry. I'm glad the rest of you are doing well. It's hard for me to be excited about showers and clothing and things when all I can think about is making it to a safe point in my pregnancy...

les706~~ sorry to hear that you are having some problems. So do they know why your cervix is shorter? I mean does it just happen or something? That sucks, but I will pray that all works out well for you and your little one. I did the progesterone, not the shots but I had pills to insert v____ally every night. Dont worry and dont stress all will be fine. ;-)

Les, I am really hoping that this problem will be fixed. You are in my prayers.
Okay I just felt the most amazing thing ever. So the baby has been sitting really low and pressing on my bowels and bladder. Well I was sitting with my feet up and had the laptop on my lap pressed against my belly. All of a sudden i could feel the baby start to roll over (so the back was facing forward and watched the computer slowly move away from my belly. IT was amazing to watch and feel the baby roll over and start kicking forward so the computer is jerking away! JUST AMAZING!.
Anyways, I had to share that with someone as I am home all alone right now.

Les- I hope all goes well, you will be my prayers as well. I am thinking of you and sending positive thoughts your way!
sbea- I too experienced something amazing today. I was sitting in a sort of reclined position and for the first time ever I actually say my belly move when the baby kicked! For some time now I have been able to feel it with my hand and even have felt him move and not just kick. But to see it was amazing, and it happened 3 times in a row! I am looking forward to more of that, so exciting.

So how many of you ladies have started going to the doctor every two weeks now?
Have any of you had the glucose test yet, and if so then when did you have it?
I am asking because I will be 24 weeks when I go in for my next apt and they did not tell me anything about not eating or drinking anything because of the test. I had thought that I should have already had it, but I guess not.

munchmom04- I have not started going for apts every two weeks yet. I believe that starts a little later on, but I am not 100% sure. This Thursday I will be 26 weeks. I however did have my glucose test 2 weeks ago today. So I was 24 weeks when I had it also. I didn't go in planning on having it and I asked the same question about fasting before hand. My midwife told me you don't have to fast, but just don't eat something sugary or a big breakfast. It really isn't as bad as everyone says, and you just can't drink anything but water after you have downed the glucose drink. I hope all goes well!

I got my form to do the glucose test last week, I have yet to set up an appointment. I will be going to do that tomorrow. I have also haven't started to see the Doc every 2 weeks yet. Like Dice, I am 26 weeks tomorrow. Last week of the second trimester. I don't know if I am ready for this yet.
Oh and yesterday my Dh got to finally feel the baby move! And for Father's day to boot! Oh I don't know if I let you all know I found a job part time. I still have mixed feelings about it. I am so tired and only worked 5 hours. Blah. Anyways I should go.
