Munchmom - Hey girl, I don't see why you can't unless your insurance prohibits it. That really sucks when doctors do that c___p. I hate it!! I always switch when I get treated like that. I don't expect the royal treatment but d__n, this is a stressful time, so help us feel a little bit better, ya know? My doc is wonderful! The RN is great too....they are so awesome and answer every question no matter how many I have! Call and see if you can get in with Dr. Laura Bradford (817-926-4118). She is not far from JPS (Ft. Worth) and does deliveries at Harris d-town and Baylor d-town. I love seeing them. I have never been happier. She is an OB/Gyno. Right now she is only taking patients that are pregnant, so hopefully you can get in!! If not, there are other doctors in that office that are good too (Dr. Cynthia Robbins and Dr. Jacquin Matthews are other good ones I have heard about). I know I have worn them out with worries and calling for every little thing I think is wrong; they never not answer me and always make me feel better! Let me know if what you find out! The only thing I will say can be a pain is the waiting room sometimes. That office is packed! The best times to get in are first thing in the morning if you can. Otherwise, I have waited never waited longer than 30min. I usually get there 15min earlier than my appt time (I live like 10min south of there) and I always seem to get in a bit quicker. Let me know what you find out!

Jaqui~~~ thanks for the info lady. I called the office and niether one of the doctors that you listed take medicaid. But the lady that answered the phone did tell me that there are 2 different doctors in that office that does take medicaid. She said she will give my information to Dr. Zee's nurse and have her give me a call. I did tell her that I am receiving prenatal care at a different office, but would like to switch providers. I am looking forward to her calling me back. Thank you so much for that information. Hey do you know the address of their office? Thanks so much I feel so much better and I know that once I talk to her and if everything works out I will have a provider that will actually pay attention to me. Your a lifesaver Jaqui!! Thanks again lady :-)

Hey munchmom, I am soooo glad you got the info!! Are you talking about Dr. Zwernemann? From what I have heard, all the doctors in there are great! Joe, the sono guy is awesome too..he is quiet but funny and very knowledgable and so far, has never been wrong on gender sonos they say! Their address is 851 West Terrell Avenue Fort Worth, TX 76104. Not sure where you are coming from, but you can take I-35 to Rosedale, and go West on Rosedale. Once you pa__s the light at Hemphill, you will pa__s Travis Ave, then you will see Lipscomb St. Take a Right on Lipscomb (North). At the Left side (corner of Terrell and Lipscomb) is their office (the SW corner). It is set at an angle. The parking lot is not too big but I always find a space. From that corner, you can take a Left going South on Terrell, then a Right on Alston Ave. At Pennsylvania, take a Left and Harris Hospital is only a couple of streets away! I can't wait to hear what they tell you! If they don't call back by this afternoon, just call back and check-in. That is what I did. I was told that they were busy by friends so jsut do the polite, "Hey, just wanted to make sure I am still on the list for a call back...I have heard good things about your doctors and am excited to be seen by Dr. Z..." lol Cheesy but it worked!! You are so very welcome chica....anytime you need something, and if I can help, I will always be more than happy to help you!

munchmom04 - May 20

Jaqui~~ thanks again. I have not gotten a call yet, but like you said they are busy so if i dont get a call by at least 3 I will call them back. I am not sure if that is the doc she was talking about but she did say Dr. Z. Oh they are not too far from the doc that I go to now. The one I go to now is on 8th ave. right across from Baylor. I know how to get there since its not too far. I did not know if it was going to be far away. I had my son at Harris in fort Worth almost 5 years ago. I loved the nurses there, well the nurses that I had were so nice and so good at making sure me and the little one was ok. I will make sure to let you know what they tell me when they do call me back. Thank you so much again. Good luck with the gender scan tomorrow. ;-)

Hi ladies, I haven't posted in a while. I usually only post at work and work has been crazy lately. Everything seems to be going well with the baby. I have another ultrasound tomorrow but it's only a TV ultrasound so I won't get to see much. Hopefully at my next ultrasound in 2 weeks they can tell the gender. I'm so jealous all of you ladies are finding out already!! Next week at my OB appt they are sticking a catheter in me to drain my bladder and see why I still have bacteria after my antibiotics...sounds painful, I am definitely scared. Glad to hear everyone else is doing well. Take care ladies!

hey Jaqui I just got a call from the nurse. She was very nice and asked alot of questions. She asked me if i would mind telling her why I was looking to change doctors. When I told her about the past few experiences that I have had with my current doc, she was like oh hun I am sorry that you are not getting the attention and the care that you deserve. Oh yeah it is dr Zwernemann. So she is going to check and make sure that the doc is taking new patients and get back with me. She did tell me that I would have to change my mediacid from Cooks to Amerigroup. That is no prob, I can do that with just a phone call. So I am going to wait and see what she say when she calls me back. les706~~ glad to hear that all is well the baby. Ouch that sounds painful. How long have you had the bacteria infection? It will be fine. Good luck on your ultrasound and I hope you get to find out soon what you are having.

les706 - May 20

When I did the routine urine test with my bloodwork around 10 weeks they told me I had a bladder infection. So they gave me antibiotics and I just did another urine test and there is still some bacteria but not as much. So my doc said they don't want to keep giving me antibiotics, they want to see if there is some problem. He said this is what the urologists are recommending they do these days. He says it won't be very painful, but he's not having it done!! lol. Oh well...I've had an easy pregnancy so far so I guess I'm due for a little pain.

munchmom - I am glad the RN called you back! I know the office closes at 4 and like at 1:30 on Fridays. So I hope they got back to you by now. If not, I know the nurse has called me as late as 5:30p before, so I hope they can get you in!! If he can't then I hope the other doctor can there! I don't know anything about Medicaid; my job pays for my health/dental insurance. I have BCBS. I love that they pay for mine, but to add family is horrible! It would be one of my checks! We have a high rate because we are a smaller city vs FW or Dallas. So DH has to carry the twins on his; much cheaper that way. I can't wait to here if when you get to see Dr. Z!

munchmom04 - May 20

Jaqui~~ I guess that they forgot about me because I did not get a return call. I think that I will give them a call in the am to keep me on thier minds. Oh since I am not working I got to apply for medicaid. Hubby does not have insurance on his job, I guess his boss thinks it is too much. Hes a truck driver. Well I will call them in the morning to see what he said about me being a new patient. les706~~ oh ok. i understand. that still sounds like it is going to be painful. I hope not though. well good luck with that

CgGirl - May 21

Hey Les706, don't worry about the catheter thing; I've had that done before, and also during labor and it doesn't hurt. You can feel something but it is definitely less uncomfortable than a v____al exam. What's a TV ultrasound??? Let us know how it goes! Munchmom: I'm glad you were able to have other options regarding your Dr...

Jaqi - May 21

Munchmom - don't worry, just call this first thing this morning. They can get busy and he may have had to go deliver a baby, so don't worry girl! Keep calling them!!

DiGiacomo - May 21

Hey everyone, Wow, I'm so excited for you who have found out the gender already! My appointment is also June 8th, so we're crossing our fingers that the baby is not crossing it's legs. My hb and I went to our first prenatal cla__s Tues night (which was really cool) and you're not alone in having to switch OBs, munchmom. A lot of the women we talked to had similiar troubles, including me. I guess I just expect the doctor to be as excited as I am, and therefore more willing to talk about things/answer questions. I swear I haven't spent more than 5 mins in the office so far, and we lost a twin at 9 weeks (I kind of thought he'd want to spend a bit extra time with me over that). Good luck with getting a new OB! I'm sure everything will work out. I finally felt very obvious fetal movement Monday night for the first time, but I'm not feeling it very often. How much should I be feeling? Should it ever feel tender (like someone poking a bruise)? I get so many little aches & pains in my stomach I don't know what is normal and what's not. What is everyone doing for exercise? Any suggestions?

Dicegirl15 - May 21

Wow! I am so surprised with the switching Dr.'s thing. I can't believe that they would treat their patient like that! I am so sorry!! I suppose I have just been lucky with mine. I see a midwife, so maybe that makes all the difference. My appointments are at least a half hour long, and they really take the time to listen to me and answer any of my questions. I have even gone over in appointment time! Are there midwives in your area, perhaps switching to one would make you feel better? It is more like I am talking to my Mom than a doctor and I have found it to be wonderful! I hope you do get to switch though! Di- I have been feeling fetal movement for a while now...isn't it amazing?!!!!! I find that sometimes it takes my breath away, and it doesn't always feel "good". I have never felt it like a bruise, but def. not comfortable! How far along are you? I guess that some woman don't feel the baby until 20 weeks ( I was a bit before that). And then after that they feel the baby every day. I didn't start to feel him everyday until a couple of weeks ago...I am 21 weeks today. But sometimes I just lay there in the bed or something, and wait. If you have questions about movement or aches, I would call your doctor. They are there to help you and answer your questions, or at least they are supposed to be! And if this is your first baby, like mine is, I feel they should be taking extra time to help you and put your mind at ease!

les706 - May 21

cggirl ~ thanks, that's comforting to know. TV is transv____al. I just went this morning and not the best news...my cervix is a couple mm shorter than last time they checked. So now I have to go back in a week instead of two weeks to see if it is getting even shorter. They said right now it's still in the normal range but I am so scared! I see my OB on Wednesday and then my next ultrasound is next Friday. I was really expecting them to say everything looks great, see you in two weeks and you can find out the gender! It definitely caught me by surprise...
