18 weeks preg. i have severe itching "down there". doctor says its not a yeast infection. could he be wrong? what else could it be? how can i make it go away?

maybe genital herpes? Most people don't know about it. You have to be tested for it by taking samples and blood. it can be in your body for years without any breakouts. I have been tested positive for GP. I felt very embarresed but by educating myself 1 out of 5 people have GP. yes you read correctly. 1 out of 5. You can live with and now that I am 20 weeks pregnant I already had like 4-6 breakouts. I will be taking medicatin the last month of pregnancy to prevent breakout during delivery. Dont' feel embarresed to ask for testing. Better be safe than sorry. If you are positive, hope you are not, it can cause serious problems if you have breakout during delivery and neither you or your doc knows about it. It may be fatal to the baby. Let me know. that is something that actually never crossed my mind. would it cause the itching though? how long do the breakouts last? i've been dealing with this for over a week.
