Unique Girl Names Need Help

I actually really like Adelaide, but I think more for a middle name. I can't see people in every day life getting used to it... grrr. We have been thinking of Mia the last few weeks. It's one of my husband's choices that I could tolerate, but I just don't know if I'm totally FEELING it. Plus I can't think of a middle name!! We have a last name that is known as an "herb" or spice and unfortunately rhymes all too well with certain first names. So some names that I love are just a definite NO because of the rhyming thing. Anyone else have anything unique??

I know you said Emerson sounds like a boy, but I have a friend who named her daughter Emerson and I only think of it as a girl's name...they call her Emme (emm-ie) for short and it is so cute!

How bout McKenna or Avery?

Ok... Emerson is AWFUL in my mind because I had a former employee (male) named Emerson that defrauded our company with a falsified injury lawsuit. Bad memories there... HOWEVER I love Emmy...! I thought about Emily, but its SOOOOOOO overused although Emmy would be a cute nickname. As far as Avery goes... my 6th grade male English teacher Avery White seems to stand out in my mind and kinda ruined the name for me. McKenna is cute, although my other daughter Sienna would rhyme a little too much with it. My husband began saying "Mia" to my belly tonight, so I guess he's made up his mind, lol. Any one have a middle name that goes and doesn't sound too outrageously Italian with Mia (like Mia Bella) (I'm Italian but don't want the name to be corny sounding).

you said you like Mia, how about Maya? I've been wanting this name for my girl, but my hubby's best friends wife told me she would name their baby Maya. they are having boy Nathan, but if she decides to have another one and if it's a girl, i would feel bad if she couldn't use the name. I also love Dominique, Amelia, Olivia, Lydia.

Don't know if this has been suggested.... My hubby and I are only 14 weeks but think we are having a girl... :) We liked Miyah (pronounced like mia - it's japanese and has a really pretty meaning) So someone suggested Miabella (my beauty) ? Good luck!

Yes, I did like Maya but my husband is set on Mia. I guess Mia it is then! I'm trying to find a middle name now that goes with it and doesn' t sound too corny like "my"something... we'll see what we come up with... Oh and by the way, I did really like Keira... I found out it means "lady" in Greek and I had considered that name but I think Mia is a little bit cuter of a name.

I've always loved the name Alyssia, but I can't use it because we're looking at boy names.

Yes I loved Alicia ONLY pronounced Al-ees-ee-a, but my husband insisted that everyone will end up saying Al-ee-sha... which I'm not cool with because of her being "the other woman" in a former relationship. So that one was out.

We are also Italian and my hubby was set on Mia for our last daughter. I considered Mia Rose. (we ended up with something totally different, but I have a feeling it will be resurrected again for this baby).

We both like the name Cadence at one time... it's different. Does Mia Cadence sound ok? I was also thinking Mia Violette (but hubby doesn't like). Any other suggestions of things that go with Mia?
