Worried About Maternity Leave

I was just wondering how many weeks you generally are when the doctor takes you out of work. I am a CNA at a nursing home, and I know that I most likely will be taken out of work before others with less labor intensive jobs, my doctor knows my job and everything and hasnt said anything about it, so i was just wondering.. thanks!

You can either be taken off work completely, or be put on light duty. If I were you though, I would probably stop working at about 36 weeks. That is when you really start becoming uncomfortable. I am 37 weeks 1 day pregnant with our second child, and this has been true with both my pregnancies.

It is different for each company, typically the Insurance company for the short term disability will dictate what they allow. I would talk to HR as soon as possible so you know going forward. Good luck.

I am a CNA also and I was able to work until I felt I needed to stop. A good friend of mine just had a baby and she is also a cna and she worked up until the week before she had him. She was put on lite duty.

Im a cna also, im 16 weeks, and i was just wondering what you are doing about lifting. Some people tell me not to worry, and than other people freak out when they hear that i have been lifting. Just recently i have been really not lifting at all and letting co-worker get my residents out of bed for me. Just curious as to how you were handling the situation?

ebay, i dont lift more than I am comfortable with. I try to avoid puling on people and all of that. If possible I get someone else to do it for me. good luck!
