I know you should stop taking the pill for about 2 months before trying to conceive. I was wondering if starting a pill cycle just for a week then stopping is safe?

It's not recommended to stop taking the pill part of the way through a pack, but it's perfectly safe. You may just have a weird cycle and break through bleeding from stopping, and you may experience more symptoms from stopping the pill than if you'd waited. Definitely nothing serious though.

Well, if you trying to conceive there's no point in even starting the pill. If for some reason you still want to start the pill, the pill doesn't harm the baby. What it might do is push back your ovulation because thats what the pill is initially meant to do. Some women take pills for a period of time because they actually want to conceive at a certain time.

actually, the pill can harm your baby. the plan b pill has been described as a large dose of birth control, so i'd say yeah it can hurt the baby. probably a reason why they say don't take it if you're pregnant... anyway, if you're trying to have a baby, you should stop the pill, not just take a break from it. it's a birth "control" pill for a reason.

I posted the question, but I think you may be confused. I want to start the pill just for a week in November because I am going on vacation. After I come back, I want to start getting the pill out of my system so we can start trying to conceive by the end of december beginning of january, not right after I stop the pill after a wekk. I just wanted to know if that would do anything to me besides mess up my cycle.

No, you'll be fine. The doctor who prescribed you the pill for this purpose should have told you that though.
BTW, if you're trying to delay an ill-timed period you may want to take 4 weeks of pills straight. Your body will already be preparing to have a period and taking them only for the week you're expecting your period may not be enough to prevent breakthrough bleeding. But ask your doctor what they recommend.
