for the past six weeks i have had this light line from my belly button downwards and lots of veins over my chest. but HPT are neg. what could cause this if im not PG?

sorry, but I don't know. In my experience the line doesn't show up til you're a few months into the pregnancy.

i'm not sure what causes it but i have the same things and i'm not pregnant.are you sure they weren't there before? if not then maybe you should get a blood test. do you have any other symptoms?

I live in UK. they wont do blood tests or ultrasounds until you get a +. The line wasn't there before. Apart from the veins and the line and tired all the time and PMT.

i have the same line and its very noticable now,i got negative too but could be 7weeks

The Linea Nigra is often first seen toward the end of the first trimester, but for some it can be much earlier. Ovarian cysts and glandular upsets can generate pregnancy hormones and symptoms. If you don't have a positive hpt by the time you miss a third period ( 10 weeks gestation ), you might ask the doctor to examine you for an upset cycle rather than a pregnancy. By that time a pregnancy can be determined by means other than hCG. Good luck!

Hi Anne, I slao live in the UK and I have a faint line, I think the veins on my chest look more noticeable but no one else seems to be able to see them, i am 2 wks "late" but cant get a +ve , so i feel for you!!!!! hope you find out sooner rather than later, keep us posted!!!

Grandpa Viv is right. The Linea nigra line don't show up until the second trimester. I would go see a doctor....Good luck!!!

I had a pelvic scan done 8 months ago and nothing showed up and I've had blood tests done for hormonal problems and all came back fine and that was done 2 months ago. could this be a sing of PG. on another forum, another women has the same signs as me and she's just found out she's PG so there's hope yet.

could i be having a phantom pregnancy?

i went to the GP today and they gave me a blood test and hope to find out Friday or Monday for the results. i hope it shows up something or it's a phantom pregnancy (I'm 27yrs I'm to young to have a phantom pregnancy you only get it in your late 30's and 40's). I'll keep you posted.

Hey Anne please keep me updated about your situation as I am going through something quite similar. If you want you can email me at shedahbomb@aol.com. I've had the linea nigra line appear a couple of weeks ago myself and since then it has only gotten darker and more pronounced. I've been thinking I might be pregnant every since late April but I still get my period. Not normal periods though. So far I've had one that started off normal then went off into spotting and one that lasted barely three days. I've had 2 neg blood tests (one qualitative one quant_tative) and about 6 neg hpts, I've had alot of symptoms but they've all pretty much gone away except for my very very very strange appet_te change. Normally I can go the whole day without eating much and without feeling hungry but now I cannot not eat breakfast, I eat way more than I usually would and I'm hungrier alot more often. I'd be 16-17 weeks by now though and my stomach seems bigger but only a little and my lower stomach is alot firmer but I dont know, I'm starting to think that I'm crazy.

Do you get a clear discharge when your pregnant and lots of it?
