Hi Girls, This may be help you. All the best. How Soon Can I Take a Pregnancy Test? All pregnancy tests look for the presence of hCG. hCG is short for "’’human chorionic gonadotropin’’". It is a hormone produced by the placenta during pregnancy. It is not produced until implantation (when the fertilized egg attaches to the uterine wall). Implantation does not occur until 6-12 days after ovulation. So the soonest you can take a pregnancy test and get a positive test result is seven days after ovulation, though many women will get a false negative at this time. It can be tough, but you should try to wait to take a pregnancy test until 10-12 days after ovulation. Remember, even if you wait that long, you may still show a negative result. If you miss your period, you should retest. 90% of women will get a positive result the first day after a missed period--but 10% of women will test negative even though they are pregnant. If you’re trying to get pregnant and get a negative test result, you should still avoid alcohol, cigarettes and recreational drugs, just in case you are actually pregnant. Testing at Home All home pregnancy tests are urine tests that measure the amount of hCG in your urine. You can find early home pregnancy tests in grocery stores, drug stores and pharmacies. But before you head out to buy one, you may want to know: "How soon can I take a pregnancy test at home?" There are two different types of home pregnancy tests: dip or midstream. In a dip test, you fill a clean, provided container with urine and hold a test strip in the urine for a specific amount of time. In a midstream test, you hold the test in your stream of urine. Both types of tests are equally reliable, but you need to read the enclosed instructions to make sure you take the test correctly. Many false negatives are due to incorrectly reading the instructions. Most home pregnancy tests are accurate if you test around the time you miss your period. If you tried testing earlier and got a negative result, try again after your period was due. And you can even try again a few days later, because hCG continues to rise in the first part of your pregnancy.

hi.... opinions pls... My bf and i just started trying. According to the calendar i would have ovulated on the 16th of May. On the 23rd (in the evening) i had some bleeding. It was runny, red with a bit of clot. Im not sure if thats the egg nesting? Ive been having headaches and a little bit of cramping and have been throwing up. But the weird thing is, I dont throw up everything, only certain things in the food I ate (ie, peas). I would consider it a sign, but I also have a cold, so I dont know if its just me overthinking things. I took a HPT this morning and came up negative. I am due to have my period tomorrow. My bf thinks we were successful, but I dont want to get my hopes up yet... Help! thoughts pls...

Hi, I have felt the same way. Condom slipped off and never notice it spill all the sperm inside. It happened on 5/21 and it's now 5/30 and took a test. It was negative but I have been feeling bloated, nipples are sensitive, acne and have had nausea. Maybe I have been worried that I am and maybe I've been making myself feel all these symtoms. Any words of wisdom?

It is 6-2 now and I feel a bit naucious and have stomach c___ps. I usaully get my period around the 1st week of the month but last month for some reason I had it on the 12th. I am going today for a blood test to see if i'm pregnant but not sure if it will show up. Do you think it will show? Today is 6-2-11.

Ladies, the BEST advice I can give any of you is to stop worrying, stop stressing and go see a doctor. We've all done it ... driven ourselves crazy only to find out we are not pregnant. It's torture for most but sometimes a happy median for others. If you ARE trying to conceive, wait for a missed period to be your first sign. Most of the "symptoms" we think we are experiencing early are in our heads. I hate to say it. So save yourselves the un-needed ups and downs and just be patient and wait it out. HPT are good for detecting early pregnancy but still, sometimes, those are not even reliable. I am witness to it. I had a positive test and was 100% NOT pregnant which was confirmed by my blood test. It drove me insane. I wish you all the best. Rest, relax, talk to your doctor about trying to conceive and when it's the right time, it will happen. Hugs and baby dust sprinkles to you wonderful wives who are TTC.

Hello everyone, am totally new to this forum and can see this is an ancient post but with some recent replies so hope it is ok to fire it up again. I am trying to learn the lingo of this site but cant for the life of me work out what all the abbreviations are... ive figured out LMP - last menstrual period? but AF, BFP and LFP? im lost. Anyway.. were TTC (check me out) and I had my LMP (hehe) on 26/5/11. I waited for (this sounds gross) the increased v____al mucus and felt myself ovulate, usually do, and so we had UPS (i think thats one). This was only two days ago. Anyway, I'm imagining a few pregnancy symptoms, which I have discovered through reading fiteen pages of this thread that this is pretty common. For some it worked out and for others it didnt. Reason I am posting, the hippy and fruitcake that I am, is because I tried to dowse with a crystal pendulum yesterday and I Dowsed for my due date and if I were pregnant. It gave me a yes and the date it liked were March 1st, 2012, which happens to work out, freakily, on a due date calculator... I then, being baffled, went on to do myself a tarot reading which gave me another positive outcome. I just thought I would share this stupid information with some random strangers because my friends all think I am bonkers. I will let you know if my pendulum, thats usually never wrong, is correct. I will also let science, medicine and biology do the rest of the work. Just a bit of fun to entertain myself while I (im)patiently wait for my next period to show or not.

Hi ladies. :) so... was on the depo from 14-22 yrs old my bf and a want children so I went on the pill to get things going again. I stoped taking the pill after my last period and was set to ovulate on the 11th this month. From the 11th to the 15 I had mild cramping that lasted all day long and have since started feeling more tired. Almost threw up at work today with no warning or reason. Ive been researching alot and one of the things i've found is that 75% of first pregnantcys end up being chemical:( cant test till the 28th to be sure wish me luck. Will let you girls know

bblou - June 20

it was negative... but im holding onto hope as my af not due for another 3 days. I had cramping for 5 days, thats unusual for me, and that has ended today and still no other signs of af but lots of possssssible signs of pregnancy. sickness, acheyness, moodyness, increased insatiable appet_te, increased cm, headaches, dizziness, waves of exhaustion.... that could all be in my head though lol. Will post when I test next.
