i dont know about a babies father , but i have had this happen with my ex boyfriends before. you have to be strong, and going out with other girlfriends and maybe start dating other guys will really start to get over him. it takes time, and time will heal! be stong ((( hugs)))

im kind of in the same boat as you, althought my ex is still in and out my life on a regular bases (as and wen it suits him) and i know how hard it can be to just forget about the man you love, expecially when you are having a child with him, no matter how mch people tell you hes not worth the pain. it has took me so long for me to get over my ex and i stil dont think i will ever completly lose my feelings for him bcos as soon as he makes contact the memorys flood bak! and i know exactly how u feel about the cuddling gdbye thing, that happens to me everytime but he just looks at me and walks away, kind of breaks my heart all over agen. the best thing for u to do is keep urself busy and think about how in a few weeks/months ur gona have this beautiful baby girl to give all your love to and ul wonder how u every loved him in the 1st place ... gd luck for the future x

dsmom, you WILL get over him, trust me honey, it does take time. I havn't read any of your other posts, but I'm guessing that you are pregnant right now. I was with my ex for 6 years, we split when I got pregnant cause I refused to have an abortion. I NEVER thought I would get over him, I would cry my self to sleep almost everynight. When I saw him, I jsut wanted to try and make it work, but I knew that it wouldn't. My mom told me that once I had my baby things would start to get better, I didn't believe her, but she was right. Once I had my daughter I knew I had to protect and nurture her, and I put 100% of my time and energy into doing just that, and after a while I just stopped thinking about him. There are times now when I wonder what if, but my ex is a deadbeat adn IMO he dosn't deserve his daughter, I now refer to him as " The Sperm Donar". I went from loving him with all my heart, to HATING his guts. It took a LONG time, but I got over him, and so will you. When you have your baby, put all your heart into taking care of him/her, and slowly you will foret about your ex, I promise. Stay strong (((((((HUG)))))))))

Well, Ive had my daughter..she's 3 months old. We have been apart since last November (05)I still love my ex. He was emotionally and physically abusive, and had so many character flaws, however I still wanted to make it work. There isnt one day that goes by that I dont think of him..I know he has moved on and that still hurts. Everytime I look at my daughter I think of how happy we used to be before he went ballistic on me. I love her with all of my heart and having her was the best thing ive ever done..I put all of my heart and soul into being the greatest mom I can, but I still love her daddy so much. I guess we just have to give ourselves time, I think it takes longer for some of us..Stay strong!
