I'm pretty sure they wont let you have an abortion after the first trimester. I really don't know too much about this stuff, but I'm sure you could call up different clinics and see how far along they will accept. -- Have you ever considered adoption?

In the states they will allow you to have an abortion up to 20 weeks I believe. In Canada its not performed after 12 weeks

Breana, you know the date you were raped - add two weeks to get how many weeks pregnant you are (stupid, I know, but the convention is to date the pregnancy from the last menstruation). Go to the Planned Parenthood web site where there is a chat line that will answer all your questions. There are clinics that will do abortions after 12 weeks, but the cost goes up steeply. Adoption sounds like a win-win-win solution, but the percentage of women choosing that option is extremely small. GL!

Forgive me, but I have to disagree. I know that it's really none of my business, and as a fellow teen mom, I can relate. But abortion is definately not the right choice. Life begins at conception, really. My best friend was aborted, but survived, proving that it really is life inside of you. She was aborted at 6 months. A nurse found her crying in a medical waste can and took her to an orphanage to be taken care of. The child inside of you is growing and has a beating heart, just like you. Another friend of mine was also raped at a very young age, but decided to have her baby. Now she watches her son grow and she's more than happy, even though the baby wasn't planned. If you can't take care of the baby, put it up for adoption. The best thing that you can give it is life. Believe me when I say that you will regret the abortion. You sound like a sweet girl, and I know you don't want to be hurt. I've done a lot of research on this stuff, and believe me when I say that it's way healthier (emotionally and physically) for you to have the baby. Women who do get abortions usually wind up in very bad shape after. I've seen so many people after abortions who have completely destroyed themselves in the emotional pain. I know that I may sound like I'm trying to ruin your plans, but I'm really not. I've seen both sides of the story (Abortion and birth) enough times to say that abortion really isn't safe. As for life beginning at conception, as soon as a baby is concieved, it begins to grow. It gets a heart at about 5 weeks, it has a face, and hands, and feet, and a brain: and in every aspect, it is just a mini human. So many women give the excuse, "Well it's MY body." It may be your body carrying the child, but it's not your body inside of you. Even a child who is born, without any human contact will die. Right now, your little baby boy (or girl) needs you. As for adoption, it is so easy to put a child up for adoption. Look online and you'll very likely find a way to put your child up for adoption in your area. In some cases, you can even visit the child after if you want. I'm not sure about your state, but I know that in some states, you can leave your child at a hospital, police station, or any other safe place if you want to put it up for adoption. Believe me, I know that teen pregnancy is a tough thing. I'm going through it now, but I would never consider abortion. I know that the little life inside of me is very precious and that I never want to harm it. In my case, I'm going to keep my baby. On behalf of your baby, I beg you to please reconsider.

Peanutthecat, amen. I've seen both sides of the story and I've seen the emotional and physical affects it has had on the friends I have who have had abortions. I kept my unplanned baby and my son is due in 18 days. I love him so much more then I've loved another person and he isn't even here yet, and that love will only grow a million times stronger once I hold him. He is precious and my definition of perfection. Every baby is a gift and breana, if you can't accept yours as your own bless somebody else with that beautiful baby.

I also forgot to mention that there are many health problems that come with abortion. You would be more at risk of cervical, ovarian, and liver cancers. If you wanted to have a baby sometime in the future, an abortion now would put that future pregnancy at risk, or even leave you sterile. You would be more prone to infection after your abortion. An abortion would also put you at risk for PID or Pelvic Inflamitory Disease. As mentioned before, it would affect you emotionally for sure, and some say that you can even develop mental problems after an abortion. You could also risk getting your uterus pierced by the doctor's tools. And in rare cases, abortion patients do die. From what I hear, this is stuff that abortion clinics will not tell you beforehand. Only 18, that's great! I'm not due until my baby's daddy's birthday (Christmas day), so that'll be exciting. :) I'm so hoping that I'll have a baby boy, and so is my boo. We didn't really plan to have a baby yet, but we're both really excited.

If you're not due till Christmas how do you know you're pregnant? I may have counted wrong but that would give your a BFP at the end of this month wouldn't it? Anyhow, congrats :) hope you get your little boy!

I just found out the other day. I had already known the signs of pregnancy from when a friend of mine had a pregnancy scare, so when I started showing spotting and weird mood swings, I decided to take a test. It came out negative first, so I waited a week and tried again, the second one came out positive. When I told my boo, the first thing he did was pull out his iPhone and download a pregnancy app. He entered in my last menstrual date and it said that I was due on Christmas. It could be wrong with the date, but I'm definately pregnant.
