14 days after the start of your period and 14 days before the start of your next period is the same in a 28 day cycle. Which a regular 28 day cycle is what i was referring to. Yea no wonder i got pregnant- IT WAS PLANNED. And quite well i might add. The 1st week after having my mirena removed.

Yeah, it might just be a continuation of the post-baby bleeding. I'd not rely on the family planning just yet, because you may still be at the point where you aren't actually ovulating, but it is just your uterus finishing up it's cleaning. But if it's something you want to do, just start paying more attention to your body, discharge, calender days. I'd also recommend to start tracking your cycles on a site like Mycycle dot com. After awhile it'll be a pretty good predictor of your periods as they start getting back to normal, and your ovulation days.

I hadn't bled a spot in a month, and I got all the symptoms my period was coming a few days beforehand. It lasted like 7 days I think, but I did lose about 3 pounds from it...I dunno. We'll see what happens next month.

Do you have a regualr 28 day cycle if so, you will ovulate in aug. 19. So u were fertile this past week. If any if you need 2 calculate your ovulation day let me know. I have this app on my phone that is called The Cycle and it calculates when you get your period or when you ovulate depending on your cycle. So just let me know!!! =]

Well, I just had my daughter 11 weeks ago so my periods will most likely be irregular. I don't know if I'll be able to calculate ovulation until it gets back on track.

kreken- I got an iud at 20. They're not recommended for younger girls b/c of the danger of infection if you have more then one s_xual partner. But they will put them in after explaining the risks. You also have to have had at least one baby.

I asked for an IUD and my doctor said it wasn't a good idea. I'm trying to explore some other options but nothing seems totally ha__sle-free to me.

Why not just use the pill and back up with a spermicide. That should reduce the risk further. Or use condoms and spermicide. (don't use just spermicide as it isn't very effective alone.) I didn't feel like reading through all the post so I will give my two cents about ovulation too. A women ovulates around the 14th day of her cycle if her cycle is 28 days long. You need to add a day to your ovulation date for everyday your cycle pa__ses 28 days. (ex. 30 day cycle you would ovulate on day 16 counting from first day of flow) You can check for signs of ovulation like, cervical mucus becomes clear, thin and stretchy a few days before, during and a day or two after ovulation, you are fertile through this period. Sperm can live for 3 to 5 days and has been seen under a microscope still alive after 7 days inside the women. So on a regular 28 day cycle I would avoid s_x from about day 7 to atleast day 17 of your cycle. Day 17 might be close to if you ovulate a little later than the 14th day. Some women get a pain in one side or the other when they ovulate and some women may spot a little too.

I don't use the pill because I'm b___st feeding. I asked to not be prescribed the mini-pill because in some cases it can reduce milk production. Definitely not a risk I am willing to take, no matter how small. I basically just use condoms and go along with my ovulation signs now.
