Addy it sounds like you need shampoos that don't have that waxy substance in it. I can't remember what they call it but it pretty much coats your strands like a wax. For some, it is great and keeps their hair sleek and shiny looking (like my curly, easily frizzed, thick mess) but for other's it makes their hair feel and look like they slopped a handful of grease on it. I say this because you said Pantene and Garnier make your hair all funny and they are the top products for having that waxy stuff in it. I do agree that products like dove will help because they don't have all that gunk in it. I had tried Herbal essences degunkify (which is in a clear blue bottle) it removed a lot of the built up substance in my hair but and didn't seem to have much wax in it.

I have the same problem as you do V. Curly, frizzy, unruly hair (I hate my hair, it's a pain in the a__s). I never knew that about shampoos. I've always used pantene. Guess I'll try dove or something. I have to straighten my hair whenever I want to look half way decent (which honestly isnt much anymore because I hate doing it). I've thought about just shaving it all off so I dont have to deal with it lmao.

Yeah see my hair is very thin and when washed too often it gets brittle, and pantene... well the next day it feels all greasy if I use pantene =/. And I absolutely hate that because I only wash it every other day :( If I was to wash it everyday I'd have severe breakage.
