My daughter is 14 months old. She started using a sippy cup at 6 months. Mainly for juice. By 9 months thats all she used. It was a very smooth transition. She never even acted like she missed the bottle. Heres my issue. She refuses to use any sippy cup besides the soft nubys. She chews them as she drinks from them so a sippy cup is only lasting a week at the most. Ive tried the regular hard ones and she refused them. Its not that she doesnt know how to drink from them b/c she had done it before. She did fine for about a week once then one day she just went back to refusing them. She loves Elmo so i brought Elmo ones. She loves race cars so i bought race car ones. And nothing. Ive tried not giving her nubys, jus the hard ones and she didnt drink for 2 days. So thats not an option. Any suggestions? ?

maybe if you dont give in and give her the hard top ones and if she refuses leave it osmewhere with juice in it im sure when she gets thirsty she will use it, i know it sounds mean but its just a habbit that she,l have to grow out of if there only lasting a week lol. my friend had the same problem and done that which worked i know it sounds horrible its kinda like you drink out of this or get dehydrated but she wont lol she,l use the cup if she really needs a drink

Yea except she doesnt. She is incredibly stubborn and didnt drink a single drop for 2 days when i tried that. When i finally gave her a nuby she chugged it , she was so thirsty. I felt terrible.

Buy her the sippy cups that are hard but have the rubber around the mouth part.....I would also try again with the hard sippy cups during the day and the nubbys at night...A compramise may make her less reluctant to use it.
