i work in pathology so that includes the morgue. gucci i can totally understand your interest. the first time i saw a body, my brain wanted to watch but my stomach said 'oh HELL no b___h' and i had to leave the room to keep from throwing up lol. since then i'm ok with it although sometimes it still catches me off guard. one time i walked in and they had a man on the table, he looked like he was laying out by a pool, loungin...then i saw the table next to him with all his internal organs...i had to leave the room that time too. but if i had seen it on tv i would have been fine. i can understand amanda why it would be hard. even if intellectually it is something you are interested it, it's hard not to face the reality of the fact that we are all just bodies when you see things like that. that being said, preserved cadavers are different. they wont smell awful, you smell formalin, like paint thinner. and they are grayish in color, they don't look real. certainly if you can bring yourself to do it, a human cadaver is the way to go.

I'm sure I can do it... Thank you for describing it because I don't want to be unprepared. I'd hate for them to roll in a body and start puking my lungs out haha. I was quite distressed when I first heard it, but I'm becoming more and more comfortable with the idea. I'm not going to let it keep me from my goals.

You know I always wanted to be a crime scene clean up person. for accidental and homicide deaths. I am wierd like that. I was working on a job out here several years ago. It was a cono project 36 stories high. It was right on top of a very busy freeway here that runs along the strip. It was a very sad story about a girl. She was 26 was going to schoolo for engineering, had her head straight. well she decided to go out and celebrate graduating, with her friends. She even did that responsibly. She had her mom drop her and her friends on the strip, then went out partying, got wasted and took a cab to get home. I guess in the cab the girl was drunk and decided to tell the cab driver let us out here! The cab driver said i cant drop you off here we are on the freeway. The girl started yelling and screaming at the cab driver and got violent with him, so the cab driver was forced to pull over to avoid a wreck. when he pulled over, the girl jumped out of the cab and tried to run across the freeway...yea didnt happen! she got hit by a semi right next to the tower i was working on. I was on the roof with a carpenter telescope watching all the marking and clean up of the remains...it deffinatly wasnt pretty and made dh throw up, but i found it so facinating....but yet such a tragedy when i actually learned the story behind it.....my point is when it was just a person with no story to me, i didnt care. It wasnt til I saw it on the news and heard the girls story that i felt guilt for being so facinated and cold hearted towards her accident....That is how it will be for you to.....Im am sure once you get pa__sed your fear of all of it, you will be just as facinated by what you see and learn about the human body. If I was in your position and had the option of cat or human, i would chose human. Mainly because i am not going to school to be a vetanarian...I would be going to school for humans

I'm not questioning whether or not it's true... I know it is. I've spoken with the career counsellor and a nurse who went to the same school I'm transferring to. I also have a friend signing up for the same cla__s who was told the same thing by her career counsellor. There was also a paper I had to sign and such... There's really no question about it.

hahaha no its definatly true, but its sooo amazing, i mean they work you up to it and like jezebel said, they dont look real, when you see dead ppl at funerals they have makeup done and they dont look so bad, i remmeber i was pregnant when my grandpa died and at his funeral it was open casket, and i was looking at him and i was like he doesnt look dead, they must be lying to me i knwo what a dead person looks like and he looks real, his makeup and everything i was waiting for him to jump up at me and yell SURPRISE i was just kidding, obviously that didnt happen but after everyone left i stayed behind just to make sure, and i gave him a kiss and told him that if he was kidding he better let us know soon and i waited until they put him in the car and drove away, real dead people look well, i dunno not pale but like a weird color, and they do smell but its not to bad, but if you dont do the human you will regret it!! cuz a cat just isnt the same! i wish you all the best luck with this amanda! it feels amazing to graduate and have your baby there on your hip for graduation!

Haha yeah I've seen an open casket at a funeral. They made him look like a mannequin. I can only a__sume dead people look like they do on those hospital shows... Where they're all greenish purply and they look really cold I feel like they should have a sweater on hahaha. Welp, I'm starting to get pretty excited about it. I have all these questions buzzing around in my head wondering what it's going to be like, how I'll feel about it, what it'll look like... For some reason I imagine it being a woman but who knows. :)
