Hi all. My name is Kasey I'm 20 and engaged to Nick for about 4 years now. We have a beautiful baby girl Lila. Who is 13 months today! She is such a little tazmanian devil lol. She was a preemie and hasn't started to walk exclusively yet but she still manages to explore and squeeze her little self into everything. As of now she is 17lbs and 10oz 29 1/4"in long. We have had a really rough year. Nick was on drugs and went to jail, while I struggled to care for Lila. Luckily he has changed drastically. He is in a drug recovery program and started going to school for Massage Therapy with the hopes of eventually becoming a Physical Therapist. He is doing great and I am so proud of him. Not to mention he and Lila are joined at the hip. He is so happy to be her and its amazing to see what a daddy's girl she is. As for me I am still in school and will be attending the police academy in September (hopefully, the waiting list was freaking long) I 'd really love to have another baby soon, so we will see how things go. I miscarried twice this year so I think I'm going to wait and see what god has planned for me! If you made it this far you deserve a hug lol

Aw, that's great. I'm glad Nick is doing better. It's good that she has a father figure in her life, along with such a loving mother like yourself :) Good luck with your schooling!

Everything is great! Other than the whole being extremely exhausted thing haha. It's all worth it though. I've scheduled an appointment to see a lactation specialist, she gets really fussy when she gets and burping isn't doing much. It's been suggested that she might have reflux, but I hope not! I had a meeting with a nurse the other day to check her development, and she was commenting on how great I was handling everything. I guess she wasn't expecting it from a teen mom but I showed her :P You said Lila was a premie? How early was she?

I went into labor a day before I turned 36weeks, I was 35 weeks 6 days then I had her at exactly 36 weeks. She was a healthy 6lbs 2oz 19.5 inches long. I had gestational diabetes to so I'm sure that helped her be so big. She never took to the b___b though, and my milk never came in :(

She's pretty close to my daughter. I had her at 37 weeks and 3 days, she was 6 pounds 4 ounces, 18.5 inches. She also had b___b problems... she couldn't latch. I saw a lactation specialist who gave me a nipple shield, so I've been b___st feeding for 7 and a half weeks now with no problems. Yesterday she even took the b___st without the shield. I was thrilled. What was her problem with b___st feeding?

I'm not sure what her deal was. I actually think it was because my milk never came in. My entire pregnancy I leaked constantly and then i had her and I was dry. I think the most I ever got out was 2oz. I was so devastated it actually caused some mild postpartum depression. But I'm hoping with my next one I will get the chance to try harder.

Did she latch well though? It seems weird that you would dry up all of the sudden. I'm sorry you had to go through that, I was very upset when Ellie was having trouble too. I remember a few days before going into labor my grandma was telling me about how she couldn't b___st feed her first child because she had inverted nipples and she was depressed about it. I rolled my eyes at her wondering why she would be upset about that, but then the same thing happened to me. I apologized to her. I guess it's just hard to understand something like that until you experience it for yourself. I really hope the next time will be different for you.
