Another Birth Control Question

Okay I've decided to not use birth control until I'm done br___t feeding (my goal is six months) but has anyone used Mirena? I've been looking around for the best type of birth control for me and I think Mirena sounds good... So I just want to know if anyone has had any positive or negative experiences with it.

Ugh icant help you much on this subject...lol, but I do know that mirena is what I wanted, but my dr didnt want to put me on it with irregular periods...but everything ive heard has been positive

Yeah I'm just horrible at taking pills and I don't want to get that under arm thing... Not looking forward to shots either, and I don't want the patch to show... So basically that rules out everything but mirena haha. I went on the website and I have yet to see a downside to it. I'll talk to my doctor about it, I'm going to see him after my postpartum bleeding stops.

IUD's scare the living bejesus outta me *pokes db in the ear with one*

Mirena is an IUC.

AddysMummy - July 12

I want it, that's for sure. And I've heard that it's great and stops your periods or can depending on the person.

angelmonkey - July 13

amanda you cant really be to picky unless you want another baby anytime soon, some of your ideas for not wanting certain things are silly, like you dont want the patch because you dont want ti show! well then where it under clothing!

angel...I have the same reasons as amanda. I dont want to take the pill because I am too busy to acturally remember or be in the right place everyday at the same time to take the pill, and the patch, when my sister was opn it, i just looked disgusting, the first day it was fine, the second day it looked like a really old band aid and you can imagine what it looked like for the days after that. not to mention my sister had hers come off several time and she didnt notice. usually came off in the shower. I dont see what is wrong with her takeing the mirena if that is what she prefers?

hey arent IUD and IUC the same thing? I kinda thought they were, because my Mirena pamplets refer to it as both IUD and IUC....*scratches head ahhh I'm confused again*

amanda17 - July 13

Yeah angel the patch looks really disgusting, especially after you shower with it. I'm not even being picky, I did the research and Mirena seems like the best choice for me and my lifestyle. It's 99.9% effective so I don't know why you think I'll have another baby when I'm using it. DB - An IUD is like when they insert something into your skin, and an IUC is something they insert into your uterus. Or that's what the website said anyway.

durante baby - July 13

Oh okay...lol! Also Isnt birth control something that you SHOULD most deffinately be pick about?

amanda17 - July 13

Yep. And I actually was. I wanted it to be ridiculously effective (99.9% is a nice record, I think that's more effective than any other form...even surgery), I didn't want to think about it too much (and I won't have to for another five years max) and it's removable for when I try to conceive later on, it's estrogen-free so it doesn't have those weird side effects, it gives you shorter, lighter or sometimes no period, it won't make you gain weight, it doesn't effect fertility, and side effects are mild, rare, and typically go away on their own. I don't know what else you could ask for haha.

theres picky and then theres oh i just wont use anything for a while like what the hell is wrong with condoms! oh you say they break! pffttt well you should have your boyfriend learn to put them on properly, i mean jeesh you can fit a condom over your head with out it breaking! so the chances are he,s doing it wrong! im not saying what your choosing is wrong and i understand about the pill and maybe the patch if it comes off but because your picky your not using anything! i mean i know your b___stfeeding but there are things that are safe! do you really want another child right away! you should use something! or its just as bad as teenagers ttc!

durante baby - July 13

Angel condoms do break, and condoms even when used properly or dont break arent that effective. My 3 year old was concieved with a condom that DIDNT break. I have had a large handful of condoms break. and unless you put a condom on your head then have s_x, I really think there is no wrong way to use it.

angelmonkey - July 13

oh really theres no wrong way to use a condom! ok so lets just put it on with out squeezing the tip...hmm what would happen! oh it would break or the sperm would have no where to go! how about we roll it on inside out! jeesh you should know these things! no wonder you conceived with a condom! and excuse me but using a cindom is still more effective than not using one at all! and when did i say you put a condom over your head and then use it? my point was you can put a condom over your head with out it breaking! so how the hell do you girls manage to break them while having s_x? its still stupid to use nothing at all! she,s just just as bad as a 14 year old ttc! your obviously very fertile amanda the amount of times you,ve conceived and your little one was conceive while on the pill! jeesh use your brain and use protection before you end up with another one! thats all im saying! be more responsable!

Angel those are all things you learn in the 4th grade when you go through your first s_x ed. Its like rideing a bike once you learn you dont just forget unless it is you......Now to put you through a little s_x ed, because god knowsthat you OBVIOUSLY need it....When One decides it is time to endulge in s_xual activity, sometime things may become a little rough for the pleasure or dominance. which may in some occasions lead to a more physical and rough mattered fornication. When this happens and condoms are the source of bc, be sure to be extra careful for condom breakage. Condoms are 96.8 effective against pregnancy when in tack, but not very effective at all when broken. Then to conclude, even when used properly with end pinched. Very often the male ejaculates a extream large amounts of s____n, which the end is not designed to hold and the condom may overflow. it is also not uncommon at all for condoms to come off the male during intercorse leaving it inside the females v____a, which also raises the chances of the female concieveing drastically......I will be sending you the bill in the mail...thank you.

amanda17 - July 13

Okay Angel I don't know why you randomly decided to be a b___h, nor do I care, but you weren't in my bedroom so you really don't know what happened. I'm really not sure why the condoms break when he puts them on, he said the end that holds it on feels very tight and it bursts... I wasn't inspecting it or watching him put it on so I wouldn't know. And what's wrong with not having s_x at all? Neither I nor my partner need to have s_x, we have s_x when we want to and when it's appropriate. I'm deciding to use birth control for the times that we do get intimate. Really angel, you're incompetence is overwhelming.
