Alrighty now that Ellie is born I need to start seeing about birth control. I have a check up with my doctor in a week to see how my healing is going, and I was going to talk to him about prescribing me some birth control. Now, I was on birth control when I got pregnant with Ellie, I don't know what happened I think my doctor gave me too low of a dosage or something weird like that... It confuses me. So I'd really like this time around to WORK... Anyone have any certain brands they like or have any advice on what I should say to my doctor? Seriously birth control confuses me hahaha

Are you b___stfeeding?

angelmonkey - June 23

i dont know if they do it where you are but i had a contraceptive implant which is a rod about the size of a hair grip that sits in the under of your arm and works for 3years by realsing a hormone in to your blood its like 99% effective altough it didnt agree with me it really helps for some people

thy have it in the states..i wouldn't go on it..but hmm...it is always an option.

no i just meant if she is then to talk to her doctor because it could be pa__sed into the baby...so she does'nt want to go on any medication that can really effect the baby in any way. yet of course its not a reliable protection. i would suggest condoms until you get something that wont hurt the baby in any way.

angelmonkey - June 23

i know it doesnt sound reliable but doctors will tell you its safe and thats you,ve got the same cahnace as gettibg pregnant as being on b/c but i guess for you amanda thats not reliable lol

PreciousBaby19 - June 23

yeah but then you have to think about the baby getting the stuff through the milk....i wouldn't suggest being on anything that can be pa__sed through the b___st...

angelmonkey - June 23

no nor would i really, hmm there might be things that are safe

I'm getting an IUD! Mirena ftw lol!

i would really talk about it with the doctor and let them know that you are b___stfeeding. cause i dont have any idea which ones are acceptable with it. I think speaking with a doctor about your case is best. cause there can be things we didn't think about.

I had the mirena and so did several of my friends. We all had it removed within a year due to side effects. I got pregnant 3 days after it was removed so it doesnt affect your fertility!

PreciousBaby19 - June 23

i mean i dont think fertility is going through her mind..but there should be something safe for her new babe.

i wouldn't go with an iud. all i see is failure after failure with it. it's almost a fertility drug at this point lol.

Yes I am b___stfeeding, I didn't even think about that so thanks for pointing it out. I don't know what an IUD is?

angelmonkey - June 24

newbaby is the mirena the same as the implonon? i also had it removed after a year and lots of my friends also got pregnant as soon as having it taken out, it actually makes you really fertile 2weeks after havin it taken out! i,ve heard its really good for some people though, amanda if i were you i would just use condoms while your b___st feeding its the safest bed, as long as you use them lol

I had an IUD... im b___stfeeding too ( my daughters 6 months now) it works amazing... i havent had ne side affects... actually i still have had a period... umm... there is some spotting ... but it isnt bad... it stops after like the first month... what the iud is a T shaped device they put into ur cervix (after having a baby its still a lil open so it goes in easily)... most doctors wouldnt recommedn this for teens who are not in monogomous relationships because it makes u more prone to infections... and chances are a teen is less likely to use a condom w/ it (it doesnt prevent stds only pregnancy)... the mirena iud also releases a horomone... this makes it doubly affective... the T shape being in ur cervix doesn't allow for the egg to attach to the uterus wall and the horomones make the mucous thicker so that the sperm can not reach the egg... i think i explained it the best i can... it's not bad... insertin it is a quick process...and the mirena lasts for 5 years a copper one last for 10... the copper one however does not have horomones... i have to say getting mine inserted hurt because i ended up having a c section so my cervix wasnt open as much as it needed to be... o well lol... goodluck.... i know if you are b___stfeeding and you choose to go on the pill.. they would probably would prescibe the mini pill because it has less horomones and it wouldnt effect your milk supply.... goodlcuk with your choice

Well Harold & I have always had problems with condoms... I don't know what it is, we either never buy the right size or he just has a weird p___s lol. The regular ones are too small and he can't even put them on without them breaking, then the bigger ones are like falling off of him. Maybe I'm missing where the sizes are in between teeny tiny and enormous hahaha. I was planning on trying out condoms again and using both... I'd really prefer to take a pill though, maybe I should just stop having s_x until I'm done b___st feeding. It might be sooner than I think, she makes my nipples bleed so I have to talk to my doctor about that too.
