I may not be 37 weeks but I'm constantly in really bad pain. I have contractions just not often enough or strong enough to have them stopped or go into the hospital. I have lost my plug, had bloody mucous.. I mean I am absolutely miserable. I am just sitting here hoping she comes out soon. I feel like I can't function! I'm not kidding!

That funnt ash that you said that, cause when i had my membranes swept every other day in the end of my pregnancy with Zaiden (dr was trying to really help me avoid a c sec) I made dh come with EVERYtime to hold my hand. I would crawl up the table and turn all shades of red, purple and blue...then i made a comment when i was in labor, and we have it on video. my friend nick says to me "so how are the contractions?" and I said "a hell of alot better then the membrane sweep or having my water broken!".....my dr would go all out though. she would try to stretch my cervix too...my sweep usually took about 10 mins of her up to her elbow trying to stir up everything she could.....ohh the memories!
Pfcwife & a___l......Niether of you feel bad at all! with pregnancy #1 I had the most problems, was on bed rest all the time, always in and out of the hospital..ect, but when i went to have the baby i was sad my pregnancy was going to soon be over. then after i had the baby i cried for hours all doped up on drugs because he wasnt in me anymore and now i had to selflisly share him with the world....With #2.....haha that was a different story, not many complications past the fourth month, but by the time i was 5 months i wanted it to be over!! i was tired of the horrible morning sickness, my body seemed weaker that time around or something. baby was constantly on the siatic (sp) nerve.....Every pregnancy is different, and i am anxious to see what my next one will be like.....One thing i can guarentee ALL of you is that you may think this sucks i am never doing this again! but by the time you have your lo in your arms that is when god does his planning to erase the bad memories of your pregnancy and delivery so then you are dumb enough to want to do it again.

my membrane sweep with Dominik didnt hurt at all, she tol me it would but when she finished i was like.. "your done thats it?" LMAO, so im hoping its the same for this baby too. I have started to feel SOOO much better since i have been taking the meds for the infection, wow how a simple cold/infection can cause your body during pregnancy to go all out of wack!! Tess--- Ya my plug is gone as well, and i at times lay there crying just telling Jon i need it to be over. I'll be sooo happy once she is out, i cant take the incredible back ache anymore, or the need to pee every d__n 5 mintues, im still having contractions but like you they arent bad enough to go in, i go for an appt tuesday and my dr will let me know whats going on, but im a__suming since the meds are helping me that everything is fine(crossing my fingers)

PFCwife, here is the thing about the painful stuff of labor-if the situation presents itself, like you are having serious problems or you are afraid of a c-section and one of these painful procedures will help you avoid that then it really makes it so much better. The great thing about labor and delivery is that if you research and learn your options, discuss them with your doctor, and kind of have a game plan to be in control of your labor, then when intervention is needed, it is a situation where it's the lesser of two evils. So if yo u find yourself needing your water broken or membranes stripped then it may be painful but your mind will tell you, it's painful now but it'll be better than this annoying constant and longer pain. Because usually these procedures get you moving along. I was deathly afraid of getting an epidural, but when my blood pressure was elevating again from the pain of natural labor they said it's either the epidural to see if it brings my bp down or a c-section. Ummm I've never had major surgery and I've watched c-sections on television and I really don't want people digging around in me like they do, plus I didn't wnat the painful recovery, so I went for the epidural. It was horrible because I was having back to back PAINFUL contractions and they ask you to bend forward crunching your stomach and DON'T MOVE!!!! It was horrible! But I welcomed it (even though it didn't give me much pain relief and I believe it might be the cause of recent problems I've been having) because it numbed my lower back a bit and obviously calmed my system enough to cause my bp to go down and I delivered my son SOON after that (like 20-30 minutes). So don't be so apprehensive, it really works out great and don't wish anything fast on yourself because this is your only pregnancy with this baby. When you see it and really get to love it you are going to feel sad that that part is over and can never be done again with THAT child no matter how many times you get pregnant again. Take it as an adventure-because it is a wild ride!!! Hope that helps your nerves. All the best to you-oh and your husband will get his payback when you go through "transitioning" during labor. They always do!!!! LOL!

Has anyone actually seen a c-section up close and personal? My sister had a c-section and her husband was talking to me a couple of hours ago about when he saw her get it. He said that they asked him to come in right as they were plopping her guts to the side and he fainted! He's a big guy like well over 6 foot and husky! He said 4 nurses were standing behind him in case he fainted because it happened so often, and they actually had to push him to the side to avoid him falling on operating tools. I'm glad I'll never have to see that haha. If I ever need a c-section there will be that nice blue tarp to shield me :)

well the sweeping of membranes doesnt really hurt honestly, i had it done 4 times LOL they really didnt want to have to induce me! it was just like he was feeling around up there nothing big, but i had it done while i was already dialated and almost completely 100% thinned so im thinking thats why it didnt hurt, if you werent dialated it probably would hurt. I have seen a c section and i think its amazing! you dont actually get to see in the stomache tho so it wouldnt be her guts on the table im guessing it was the amnio fluid because her water hadnt broken yet and it has to go somewhere.

Oh I have seen c-sections on television where they do kind of throw the intestines around! I mean they don't take them out and throw them on the table, but they do push them around and sometimes a clump of intestines gets pushed up and over the skin. THAT IS WHY I DIDN'T WANT ONE!

guccigal87 when they give you a c-section they have to cut through the stomic muscels and then move them out th way to get to the uterus and when you have a c-section your partner can opt to watch so it makes sence that he may of seen that
im terrified of having a c-section my wordt fear is the pain relif running out and being able to feel it lol!

I dunno, I wasn't there. That's what he said exactly 'guts plopped on the table.' Anywho I really wouldn't want a c-section either. That's scary! Plus the recovery time? God I only spent 2 days in my hospital I felt like it was 2 weeks because I wanted to be home so badly! I was excited to get settled in and officially be taking care of her on my own instead of the nurses doing it... and I wanted to run away from them giving her shots all the time :( Which reminds me I have to make an appointment for her 6 month vaccines... I've been avoiding it because I really hate going :(
