angel, please keep in mind that you aren't in the US and doctors here aren't midwives there. things are done differently in different places so you can't say "well it doesn't happen here so it doesn't happen anywhere". for example, here in the US, if a woman has a boy, the doctor and nurses will nag her about getting him circ_mcised because that's just what's done here. but in australia, they don't even ask and if you ask them about it they tell you "eh, it isn't something that needs to be done. don't worry about it". i'm telling you the computer changes my due date all the time, but not all doctors will say "ok we've changed it by 2 days". as long as it isn't a huge change they don't bother. but no baby grows at exactly the rate they expect. that would be strange. so the growth fluctuates from day to day. sorry, but unless you've seen the pc they use to calculate it, a person probably wouldn't know or understand what i'm trying to say. i know you're not causing drama. i can tell you're trying not to, but you can NOT say that the due dates don't change like you did at first. at least now you admit that sometimes they do, but don't make broad statements. these girls are moms already and know these things and i have done probably more research on this kind of thing than i'd like. most laymen don't bother with the technicalities so not everyone knows what goes on at each scan. just because a doctor doesn't say "ok this is you're exact reading" doesn't mean he doesn't know. my doc checks my thyroid every 2 months and doesn't give me my exact values until i ask for them. i simply get "you're thyroid's fine" and that's that. but my levels do fluctuate. and as long as the change isn't major, they don't bother mentioning it. same as with the baby's growth. know what i'm trying to say? ooh ooh and my big sis came right on her due date lol. but she used to be a journalist, so she's all about the schedules lol. and her baby came on her due date too =P to be totally honest, though, only the little cuties know when they're coming. they just like to see what the doctors guess i think.

Jeeze right on her due date? I read somewhere that only like 12% of women have their babies on their due date. I know someone who went 39 weeks and 6 days, and another 40 weeks and 1 day (C-section). My sister thought that all babies came on their due dates so when 40 weeks came along and her son wasn't born she practically ripped her doctor's head off haha. "YOU TOLD ME HE'D BE HERE BY NOW!!!" I thought it was funny :P

newbaby2009 - October 2

I read 4%. Why even bother with a due date? How about a due month?

AddysMummy - October 2

Yeah with Addy they constantly changed my date, Dec. 20th, dec. 10th, dec. 8th, dec. 6th, dec, 4th, dec 11th, it went backkk and forth like every time I went in.

amanda17 - October 2

I agree Newbaby. It might be 4%, I dunno I read about it forever ago when I was still pregnant, anxiously awaiting.

angelmonkey - October 2

teddy i did say in my previous post maybe things are done differently if you would like to take the time to read that lol! omg really!! they try and make them have a circ_msition!! they certainly dont do that here lol! but yes i think things are different here..............here you see a doc between 8-10weeks who then refers you to a midwife and dating scan, you have your scan and your midwife comes to your home at around 12 weeks she then refers you for your 19-20 scan........then you see her at 16 weeks then you have your scan 20weeks then you see the midwife at 24weeks where you get a form caled a map b1 that pretty much makes your pregnancy vialble because the baby can live outside the womb at that point then you carry on seeing her every 2weeks untill 28 weeks where you will continue to see her every 2weeks then at 36weeks you see her every weeks untill delerviery.................thats pretty much sums it up lol!! sometimes you have an extra scan when you make a referal to the hospital to give birth which is why i,ve had 3 so far then if theres problems with babys weight ect they will also check..........we dont really have much to do with docs during pregnancy teddy when they scan me the pc is right nect to me lol they show and explain everything to you! if your baby is messuring a day ahead they tell you they show you hoe many mm/cm your bbay should be messuring for however many weeks and days you are...............on my last scan the u/s person didnt know how far along i was and afetr she messured it came up on the screen 19weeks 2days which was exactly what i was.........like you said things are done differently obviously when they are like your baby should so many cm or mm its like between so many cm or mm but if your messuring a day ahead or behind they tell you...........teddy im glad you see im not trying to cause anything i was just saying because of amandas statment that EVERYONES due date changes at EVERY scan i was just saying no they dont.....mine hasnt and they messure in days here i know that babys grow at different rates ect but it doesnt nescasaraly mean that the due date will change yes some women do but no amanda nor EVERY persons does.......... i raed that 85% of women go about a week overdue eith there first? i hope thats not me! well then again 85% of women have positve blood and im in the 15% that have negative blood (newbaby to i think) yeh i think they should say like you baby will be here with in these 2 weeks lol not this day! i hope i dont go in on my due date its valentines day lol

angel: i did read it and before you finally gave into common knowledge, i had already told you what REALLY happens at ultrasounds that most women don't know about, including you. obviously. some doctors just don't want to confuse people i guess. who knows. so before you tell me to read anything, make sure it's something you're actually doing first ;-) you tell an awful lot of people to read your posts and 50% of your posts are "oh i can't be bothered reading your long post". =) if whoever does your scan said you were measuring a day ahead, it changed your due date but because it was only a day and not something like 2 weeks, they didn't bother to say it was changing your due date. they could safely say you still had the same due date. do us all a favor and don't start trying to point fingers. if you had no explanation for the original poster, you probably shouldn't have bothered replying. we obviously know why her doctor was changing her date and you obviously don't. so don't try to claim someone else is starting anything. amanda was right and you were wrong until you were the only one trying to say "nu uh!! doctors never change due dates!!!" sorry, sweetie, but everyone's due dates change. whether or not your doctor tells you is another story. if they don't think you'll understand, which you obviously don't, then they won't tell you and if they don't need to, then they won't tell you. oh yes and if you're counting on valentine's day, lol you will probably be disappointed. what your doc said is your due date doesn't matter one bit to your baby. so don't make plans around it unless you plan on holding your legs shut until then or being induced on that day.

hey guys.. sorry i didnt mean for people to fight about this.. i was really worried if this women was really messing me up with m due dates.. see up here i dont talk to anyone on base so i dont no much about all this stuff.. im learning as the doctor tells me but i was just worried about them miss messureing my baby.. im glad that im not the only one this is happening to , oh yehi went for a scan today again and the bloody people said my due ate is back to the 15 th so i give up..the baby will come when god allow it so im not gonna stress it anymore.... angelmonkey im so glad you recieve what you wanted a baby girl. yeh i do have a myspace, i went looking for yours but its private so i was waiting for you to ask mines since mines is also private..tell me when you want the address and ill give it to you or ill send a invite to you...

angelmonkey - October 3

ok teddy sorry but you do need to re read posts before you reply...............i am NOT counting on giving birth on valentines day!! i even said that i DONT wnat to! and all i can to the rest is pfft the obviously do things differently here as they tell you everything up to how mant mm your baby is!! they tell you if your due date is changed everythime!! if your baby is big enough to be cla__sed as a day aheda they tell you!! they told me that my baby was messuring 3days ahead! thats under 2 weeks and they told me! no amanda was not right in what she said! she said every due date gets changed i said no it doesnt!! if she was right i would have had my due date chnaged at all of my scans like she says!! i never said NO ONE has there due date changed!! im really fed up with you teddy!! go pull your head out your a__s!! pcfwife if you add me as i friend and say its you i,ll add you! i would say give me yours and i,ll add you but im away for the weekend visiting the inlaws lol so it would be eaiser if you add me (yeh i get everyone poking my belly all weekend lol!!)

amanda17 - October 3

I get what you're saying Angel but I didn't literally mean EVERY ultrasound the child measures differently... I meant the child won't measure perfectly throughout the whole thing. I had a few times were she measured exactly the same as a previous ultrasound but it was fairly rare. You've had 3 ultrasounds and they said that she's measuring 3 days ahead on the first one, that's them changing your due date 1 out of 3 times. Really your due date is whatever your LMP says it is.

angelmonkey - October 3

ok amanda i think we just got confused as i wasnt saying thatevery baby messures the same the whole time either, i just took your comment literally and thought you were saying that everytime you have a scan they will change your due date............its just here they really do telll you if your baby even messues a day ahead and my baby has messured the same at every scan so i was just saying you know thats not true i hope you understand what im saying i totally see your point now you,ve changed the way you worded it

Teddyfinch - October 3

amanda: angel's british. she doesn't get jokes =P (stereotype that english people have no sense of humor. mwahaha!) angel: do you ever get people putting their lips right up to your tummy and talking to the baby? yeah that's my favorite -.-

V9653 - October 4

Okay, you know what? I've pretty much stayed out of these postings because they are ridiculous and I don't feel like getting b___hed out about how no one is arguing but just discussing-cuz you know what. It is arguing, it's just not being nasty like how it gets sometimes. Everyone's being so d__n pa__sive-aggressive. You know what, people don't need to nitpick every frigging thing everyone says. Not everyone is speaking literally when they throw out frigging joke comments showing their frustration towards their dumba__s doctors who throw them through the frigging loop. Also, english doctors aren't that frigging different than over here. It just depends on the frigging doctor. Some people get doctors who are very intimate and tell you every single detail, while others are very vague and like Amanda said they won't bother to tell you stuff unless there is something substantial. So really can we get over these wasteful responses where people are going over and requoting something someone else said to prove a needless point-it's friggin RUDE!!!!!!!!

V9653 - October 4

Oh yeah angel-remember that you are one person, with a specific situation and not the representative for all english women who are pregnant.
