ok well i had my second scan today and everthing was perfect!! my baby is so active lol its so cute i love it so much allready!! i have pics on my myspace its w w w. myspace.com/cheekydamonkey...........i have a question i got told today that i am RHD negaitive and have to have an anti-D prophylaxis injection at 28 weeks and straight after giving birth, bascially i have a rare blood type i am B neagative and most people are something positive which makes my pregnancy complicated without the infection my body could try to abort my baby or i could have a stillbirth si thak god there is an injection it get more complicated with the more pregnancys you have but it means that my blood is neagative and it will be very rare if my babys is neagative which means it will be B positive or something and if my blood mixes with the babys blood it will attack my babys blood like my baby is a foreign object but hopefully the injection gives my body certain antibodies so that my blood doesnt attack the babys blood so everything should be fine it just means if i have any va___al bleeding or an accident i need to go startight to hospital for another anti-D shot. i was just wondering even though its rare had anyone else had this?

Dont worry ashley you're fine. Im Rh- as well. My blood type is O- which is even more rare. 15% of women are rh-. Its only a prob if your blood mixes with the baby and the baby is rh+. If the father is neg as well its not a problem. As long as you get the injection at 28 weeks, after delivery, and at any spotting then you'll be fine. But it is very important to get the rhogam shots!

thanks newbaby but im not ashley im angelmonkey lol, unfortunatly they dont test my partner to see if he is negative they just go about it as if he is positive and baby is positive they say they will test babys blood group when its born, i know its only a problem if the blood mixes but its quite scary im to scared to move incase i do something that causes me to infect it with my blood, it doesnt sound very nice either knowing that my blood could harm my baby!! but yes your right as long as i have my shot at 28 weeks and at deleivery and any bleeds i should be fine thanks

sorry lol. But yea nothing you do can yourself will do any harm. And even if something does happen it will be fine as long as you get the shot. I have a horror story with being rh- and not getting the shot but i dont want to scare or worry you. Even with what happened to me, everything is fine now and i have perfectly healthy pregnancies and babies :)

I've never been through it myself but I've read a little about it. I think you'll be alright just follow what your doctor says.

Who told you being RH- is rare, because they are full of c___p? It's as common as being RH+. If this is your first baby you have NOTHING to worry about even if the baby is RH+. It is only subsequent babies you will need to worry about something happening & that is ONLY if you never had the shot. As a precaution they will give it to you regardless of what the baby's blood type is so that your body doesn't have a chance of building up a defence against any positive blood. My mum is RH O- & all 3 of us kids are RH O+ & she is VERY lucky that everything turned out ok after my brother, as she refused to have the shot (Don't know why). Do you know what blood type the babys father is? It can be a little confusing the way blood types are pa__sed on, but your baby has a 50/50 chance of being RH- because you are, & a 100% chance is the father is too.

Being rh- is not as cmon as rh+. Only 15% of women are rh- which means 75% are not. Positive blood types are much more common then negative,

Yeah don't worry too much about it. It just has to do with immune systems. You know how they give blood transfusions and they have to have certain blood matches or the person could have complications? It's the same thing. The baby could have a father with a blood type that doesn't match with yours and then your body would fight it off, meaning try to fight off the baby. Back in the day they had more miscarriages from this, but now that they have the shot, when it's caught then it's smooth sailing. It's not a real complication, it just means they give you the shot and you go on with your pregnancy. So it doesn't mean that your baby is in jeopardy, because even without the shot many babies are born just fine. Just sometimes a little underweight. My mom and dad's blood types didn't match. My mom didn't have a shot with my brother, and he was fine just a little small (but six pounds not bad) and had jaundice-which hell-a lot of babies have. With the next two pregnancies she got the shot, and with me she didn't get the shot and I came out the biggest healthiest baby my mom had. So relax!

yhanks girls E58 my midwife told me its not very common so im going with that and also it can still be dangourous with your first child and also my baby has a lot more chance of being positive than negative, dont know why. my partner has asked his mum if she knows what blood type he is. but she also told me its dangourous if you have a fall or v____al bleeding as the blood can then mix and that why if i even have a fall i have to have an extra shot. i have a leaflet hse gave me here which has been helpful i just dont wnat it to make anything complicated lol. hopefully all willl be fine thanks girls
