ok so im 36 weeks tomorrow and about 2 nights ago i had really bad pains and BH, i mean i was nearly in tears god knows how im going to cope with labour lol...........well i was up until about 5am from the pain and at about 3am i went to the loo but, this may sound a little odd lol.............when i peed it didn't feel like it came out my pee hole lol, it felt more like there was a tap in va___a that got turned on full blast for about 6seconds or so.....ever since my belly feels a lot harder and her movments feel so much stronger......do you think my waters broke and that my hard belly and her movments are related to my waters breaking...........the reason i ask now is that i wasnt concerned at first i thought it was a little odd but thought if my waters broke i would have contractions by now.............. I spoke to someone today who said when there waters broke she never had contractions and had to be induced...............was it my waters or did i really need to pee lol.....oh and i went for a pee about half hour before and usually my bladder isnt that full after half hour

No one can tell you if your water broke except your doctor, which she couldnt do even over the phone. Some women go weeks after their water breaks before delivering, as long as the body keeps replenishing the fluid. Its quite unheard of, but does happen. As long as nothing is inserted into v____a, risk of infection is very slim. Just call yory midwife and see what she says and dont have s_x or attempt any kind of v____al exam until you do.

It sounds like there might be a problem. Pains to the point of tears is not supposed to happen. You may even be in labor. Call your midwife immediately.

My braxton hicks have had me in tears several times. They're just worse for some people. And that was 2 nights ago. She'd know by now if she was in labor.

hmm i had s_x last night and used ultrasound gel as lube (which is safe) to check my cervix this morning........... i havnt been in much pain since just pressure from her head to the point it stings.............i was going to wait until my midwife appointment tuesday but will seek advice sooner........ newbaby was just looking for opinion on wether my belly being harder and her movments being stronger against the skin could be a sign of my waters breaking..............i didnt mean for it to sound like i was asking if my waters had broken lol...............really the water can replenish its self? even if there is a big split in the bag? how does it saty in lol i mean for your waters to fully break the sac has to pop or somethign right?

I don't think waters break over some period of time. It's like a water balloon that pops. It can either spring a leak or gush out. And when my water broke it didn't feel like anything at all. Newbaby I know braxton hicks can be painful and uncomfortable for some people but I think it's one way or the other right? If her braxton hicks are more painful than usual that would sound like labor to me. Everyone is different, some people are in labor for days and some people give birth on the toilet :) I think that if my water hadn't of broken I wouldn't have really realized I was in labor because I didn't know what to expect. And my contractions didn't feel like anything anyone had described to me. I probably would have thought I was just cramping up and drank some water or something. Angel your belly being harder could be a real contraction. If it's painful and your BH aren't usually... I can't think of anything else it would be.

Oh, well you said "do you think my water broke?' Yes as long as your placenta is healthy, the amniotic fluid continuously replinishes itself, if your water did actually break you would continue to leak it. If you have any concern of your water being broke at all s_x is a big no-no!!! And so is inserting any foreign body into your v____a. That could cause an infection possibly fatal to the baby. Amanda for me my braxton hicks get more painful the farther along i get. Like they started at 20 weeks and were hardly noticeable. Around 20 weeks they were uncomfortable and now they are quite painful. When my water was broken with Rylie at first it was a gush then it continued to trickle out up until i delivered. Angel your belly could also feel harder because your baby is running our of room so shes all crammed against the uterus walls. Ive had times i thought i was having a painless contraction but it turned out to be her back or but pushing out.

my water broke and i was dumb enough to have s_x afterward thinking i was wrong...then hours later i realize it really had when i was leaking water obviously, then i stayed at home and had to stimulate my own contractions with my b___st pump.....the only real wat to know is go to labor and delivery and they just stick this little strip in you and if it changes to the right color it means your water broke...go get checked though cause i got a EXTREAMLY bad infection because my water was broke for so long......its wasnt fun at all!!

hi i would like if someone could help me out if i was to be pregnant and i stop taking birthcontrol beacuse im suspicious of a viable pregnancy could i still bleed because of the stopping of the pills? because when u miss pills and stop taking the pills you experience breakthrough bleeding could i still experience this?even if i was to be pregnant? ↑

guccigal87 - January 17

well yes it is possible for your water to break and not fully empty, it just leaks, but i do remember at the end of my pregnancy i had thought it broke a few times with the long peeing, but when it did break i DEFINATLY knew it broke! haha and sometimes it breaks and you dont have contractions. I was finally induced, and i had contractions and i didnt even know i was, cuz i thought he was moving and it was REALLY tight as well, and the nurse was like no hunnie that syou contracting LOL then i got seriously into the labor and i knew cuz it was the most painful thing EVER i would go in to double check it never hurts right

Often labor begins within 24 hours of your water breaking. If this does not happen your doctor will likely recommend inducing your labor to help protect your baby from infection during pregnancy. If the amniotic fluid is ruptured for more than 24 hours your risk of developing a uterine infection increase dramatically. GO GET CHECKED! IT CANT HURT BUT IT CAN ABSOULTLY HELP IF U OR BABY IS AT RISK!!

so i went to labour and delivery and everything looks fine............she hooked me up to a machine to monitor baby for about half hour, she said i had to stay lying down as if i was leaking there would be a poole of water..........well when she checked after about an hour of me lying down there wasnt a poole but she did say there was alot of white discharge so she swabbed me for thrush, she said my cervix was long but soft and she also found a trace of pritine in my urine but said it could be from the discharge but i have a midwife appoinment on tuesday so if they find protine again they will look in to it. she thinks the baby is laying against my spine which can make a more difficult labour so hopefully she,l move. she said i have ALOT of water which can soemtimes mean problems with the baby but i told her my last scan was at 33 weeks and i have another next week so she wasn,t to worried as they would most liley pick up a problem but its still a bit worrying but apart from that everything is fine

newbaby2009 - January 17

Glad everything is ok. What is pritine? Protein?

newbaby2009 - January 17

Sounds like you're having all kinds of issues. Did they do any kind of exam that may have caused the bleeding? Im RH neg as well but they told me my 28 week rhogam shot covered me up until delivery.

angelmonkey - January 17

yes they inserted a spectulam to see if i had a poole of water at the top the v____a to see if i was leaking and took a swab...........at the moment they are putting it down to that even though its only suposed to cause light spotting and i,ve half filled 3 pantyliners! i went and had my blood taken so can count the antibodies or something and i have to ring about noon to see if i need the anti D, which the midwife seems to think i will as i have bled quite alot (not like loads but alot more than just spotting)............i got told it would cover me until deleviry unless i had a bleed which i have....... well i went home after that and just spotted fir about an hour then i went and put a pad on and with in about 10 mins i had more which was more than spotting but not more than first time and was quite red. i left it but tonie was really worried and wanted me to ring again so i did, they said all they would do for tonight is monitor me as thats all they can do for now so i can stay at home if i wish as i have to go back tomorrow anyway but if it gets worse through the night to ring........he didn't seem too conserned si i feel safe staying at home for now
