Hi everyone. I ovulated on Feb 23 and had unprotected s_x on Feb 21st. Is there a high chance i could be pregnant? I went to the doctors today (its been a week) and she took blood, is it too early to tell?

With a blood test? No, the result should be pretty accurate.

In my opinion it is way too early - you have almost a week to go before your expected period. The doctor is a rip-off artist. In England the doctor won't even think of talking to you until you have missed a second period!!. Your chance of pregnancy is about 30%. Wait to see if you develop early signs of pregnancy in the next week, and take a home preg test using first morning pee when you are sure a normal period is late. Good luck!

Whaaat? She would be 3 weeks pregnant by now, a blood test would be ok. Sure, it would probably be better if she waited a week or so but if the doctor already took blood.... Doesn't first response brand pregnancy tests claim to have an accurate result 5 days before a missed period? That's just an over the counter urine test and it would have been accurate days ago. Your period is due around the 9th, isn't it candj?

Most of the time a fertilized egg doesn't implant until 10 days after ovulation. Your own body doesn't even know if it's pregnant until implantation, so any test you take that early will not be accurate. I'm surprised your doctor went and did a test anyway. It was a waste of time.

Usually the earliest a blood test can tell is 10 days past ovulation. Of course that is still pretty early and there are things to take into account, but even still, yes you went in too early! If you get a negative, you won't be able to trust it and you'll have wasted money and will still have to either wait until your period is due and get a urine test or go back in to the doctor and get another blood test.
