Was that depo shot your first dose ever??? Back up method should be used if you are new to the shot until it can regulate in your body. If it was your first shot then it can really throw your cycle off for a couple months. If you don't get your period over the weekend then I would take another test. Are you having any symptoms??

thanks!!! and yes it is my first shot and i am having alot of the symptoms.

oops i ment to put that i took a test last week not the shot.

I would say test again. If it comes out negative talk to a doctor and see what is wrong and why you haven't gotten your period.

The depo provera WILL most likely stop your period, so i would test in a few days if you are concerned about being pregnant, but most likely your period is out of wack because of the shot and most likely you wont have another period just light spotting at random times

There have been a lot of women coming to this site complaining about weird period or no periods due to the shot... and out of control hormones. I'd say that's probably the reason. Still, birth control can fail so you should practice using condoms as well.

Also, you should use condoms because you're 16 and don't want to catch anything. There are grown married women who catch diseases from their husbands who seemed like the type who'd never cheat, so imagine a 16, 17, 18 year old boy! I've also heard of women getting pregnant on the shot in the first round, so another reason to use protection but the fact is that the shot does do wacky things to your body and your period.

hi aalyiah i was on the shot for 3 years. it messes your body up alot i has spotting the first6 months of it straight. then no period at all for over a year. and the shot will cause you to have alot of pregnancy symptoms right after you get it everytime.
