My Mind Is Playing Tricks On Me

Hiya girls. Something weird is happening... Before I begin you should know there's like a 2% chance that I'm pregnant right now, and if I was it would be too soon to tell. I've only had s_x twice since Ellie was born. Once with a condom that broke, but I was on my period (or I guess I was just lightly spotting and then my period came) then again the day after my period ended with a condom successfully used. But I feel SO pregnant right now.. like second trimester maybe. I am starting to gain weight in just one area, in the form of a baby bump! I looked this big at 5 months and up until a few weeks ago I was losing all my pregnancy weight (and looking fabulous if I do say so myself. :P) I have morning sickness type stuff, I'm suuuuper exhausted but that could just be from Ellie, I have the instinct I had when I was pregnant like I just knew what I shouldn't eat and felt sick if I was anywhere near it (i.e. the smell of cigarettes) and I also just have a feeling that I'm pregnant, I wake up and wonder what the s_x is, and avoid caffeine. But I've had ovulating symptoms and I doubt I'd be ovulating if I was pregnant. So I'm fairly sure I'm just going psycho but what do you girls think?

Hmm, well the times you had s_x wee likely times you could have gotten pregnant. But it is possible. Here comes the cliche advice...wait to see if you're late and if so take a test. Lol.

Since there is only a TEENSY chance, I would pawn it off as post-baby symptoms. That happens. Especially when you BF and all sorts of things. When I BF'd Addy for those first few days, I felt pregnant the next month and it wouldn't have been physically possible for me to have been. It could just be your body :P. Just wait it out, everything will probably turn out right.

hmm you may think there,s only a teensy chance but i think theres more of a chance as nothing is regular when you,ve had a baby not even ovualting especially when your b___stfeeding. you could of been ovulating when the condom broke.but yeh wait it out a couple of weeks an dif you still feel the same take a test

Of course you do.

angelmonkey - August 25

of course you do what?

amanda17 - August 25

lol I put up that there was a teeny chance...you guys don't need to say that a million times :P Anyway I really, really don't think I'm pregnant...that wasn't my question. My question was if it is normal to feel pregnant after you have a baby. Addy answered that, thanks :)

amanda17 - August 25

lol sorry angel I wasn't being snippy. I thought it sounded snippy too but I couldn't think of another way to word it to sound the way I intended it to, thus why I put a :P face at the end. :P faces make everything better hehe

angelmonkey - August 25

amanda17 - August 25

Hey Amanda, sorry I'm late, but here's the funny thing-I felt the same way too. You know how you see so many girls get pregnant in the first 5 months after having a baby-I think it is because of that. Your body goes into times when it is more fertile (as the medical field has says you are after having a baby) and then it's like your body is your own ghost haunting you and reminding you of pregnancy. You might have times when you want s_x sooo bad it feels like you are withdrawing from drugs-weird I know. But the female body is insane and I think we learned that with just our periods and moodiness throughout our cycle. Pretty soon doctors are going to cla__sify a mental illness and all women are going to fit into it just from our crazy hormones!!! It sucks-that's why I'm so furious at eve-we really are cursed.

P.S. and I must warn you that that didn't just go away after the first few months-it came and went for the first year.

amanda17 - August 26

You are SO right V. It's seriously like ghost baby in my belly. I even thought I felt a kick... I feel totally insane haha. I need a hormone reducer, this is getting ridiculous haha

V9653 - August 26

Yeah the kicks are normal right around the point you are at. It's weird because everyone talked about the phantom kicks and I never felt them. I just had contractions longer than what they said I should have them. I never felt them until now...At least once a day, I feel little like fluttering in my pelvic area, and when I press in there then it feels like it moves to the other side and waits, then starts fluttering again. I know it's not gas bubbles, I mean after pregnancy you can distinguish the feeling of intestinal gurglings and other stuff. I got so creeped out from it the other night that I really started thinking...God what if I turn out like the other women in my family and end up being like 4-5 months pregnant and only just finding out. It really drove me batty. AHHHH!!! So I hear you. And it's been a year and a half, I shouldn't be feeling things like that...should I?

amanda17 - August 26

That's crazy. It's got me all paranoid. Now its like if I do get pregnant I won't even know the difference. I'll be like 8 months along still saying "Oh no that's just the phantom baby." Then all the sudden BAM! "No this is just phantom labor"... "Uh. Oh." I don't know what's normal, I hope I don't feel like this for too much longer. I wish all my hormones would go away already. They suck.

Amen!!!! I don't know if you have this problem in your family, but I also have a line of women who have at least one pregnancy where they have period-like bleeding every month for the first few months of their pregnancy. For my mom, her pregnancy with me was that way. She had what she thought was her period for 4 months. My sister had one or two "periods" while pregnant with her last child, and 5 with the first. Both took tests early on when they noticed they were sick and sleeping more but they came out negative for weeks. Well correction-my mom went to the doctor after it seemed like she had a bug that wasn't going away after a couple of weeks. Then when it didn't go away for months she went back. She was freaking thinking she was dying or something. LOL! I don't want to go through that. I mean honestly, I smoke, what if I have a cooler in that time period???? That isn't cool. But take comfort in the fact that it happens to people. People talked about Britney Spears on that news show when she was pregnant because she said she THOUGHT she was ABOUT six months, but though we all know she is an idiot, the girl got pregnant like within three months after having her first son-she may not even have known when she got pregnant. It happens!!! So I think that you should be fine and aren't pregnant but you will feel that way every now and again everytime your body goes through a hormonal milestone. It soooo sux, but keep a stock of pregnancy tests just in case, just to ease your mind.
