im on yaz. but ive only been on it for like 10days so i dont know if its entirely effective me and my boyfriend decided to trie it without a condom. we did it once and he pulled out.. then 2days later our condome broke while we were having s_x.so we continued without one...again. i know there had to be pre-c_m. but he didnt c_m inside me. were worried that i might be pregnant. we still have 3weeks till i get my period tho. i looked up that u could start tsting after about 10days. do you think the birth control is effective yet? and can i get pregnant? with the chance that its not effective? is anyone on yaz?that could help a bit more...

Read the instructions to your birth control, KID! They tell you not to have unprotected s_x!!! The birth control hasn't even freakin' kicked in yet! JEEZUS!

Birth control pills generally take 1 full cycle before they are fully effective. I'm guessing you started your pills right after you started your period, making your cycles a little over 4 weeks? It's possible you are close to your fertile window, with any luck the pills did stop you from ovulating although with only pre c_m your chances should be pretty low. I don't endorse s_x at such a young age but if you are going to do it please at least wait until you are through your first pack so it can be fully effective and talk to your doctor about these pills. If you don't understand how they work that can really put you at risk. Also keep using the condoms too for a back up method and make sure your bf learns to put it on correctly. If it broke chances are he did something wrong.

Birth control DOES NOT work if you do not follow the directions--like everything else in this world! SURELY your doc gave you the basics of the pill!??!?! Actually who took you to get the pill??

lunamoo - August 22

What I don't understand is that you are clever enough to find a computer, and do a google search to find a pregnancy forum, why don't you google, BIRTH CONTROL PILL and read the directions??

I am sorry, but if you are too immature or simple to read directions on the use of something they you shouldn't be using it. Meaning if you can't sort out the fundamentals of bc then you shouldn't be having s_x. Like if you don't take driving lessons and listen and learn, don't try to drive a car by yourself. Try not to get to worked up by some of the responses you will get here. You are 14, you have no place in participating in anything that can land you pregnant! Good luck

I just googled: "birth control pills how to use" and every hit, yes every hit!!! Starts off by saying to use a 2nd form of bc for the first month. Come on, if you think you are clever enough to have s_x, be clever enough to do it safely. READ before opening...

Okay dude, I don't know what age you are (skyblue) but I can't imagine that a 14 year old is really navigating s_x the right way. Either she has an older boyfriend who's telling her what to do (and still might not be navigating it the right way) or it's really like two figuring out "oh hole??? maybe this goes in it". You probably remember that wasteful in and out s_x??? Really most people don't figure out how to have a great s_x life for a while. And obviously they have figured out the logistics of birth control methods. And lastly, we all know that with a 14 year old, if you don't pat her on the back, saying anything she doesn't like is going to cause a spastic, immature response. I mean come on, he's going off then thanking Krissy by saying "except that Krissy25 chick"-no respect.

Yaz if the birth control i was on and i took it perfectly. Never missed a pill. 3 months in, i was 3 weeks pregnant!

Teddyfinch - August 22

usually it's effective after a week. and why are you on b/c at 14? couldn't you wait until you weren't a baby before sticking someone in there?

amanda17 - August 22

Alright calm down everyone. Don't you think we're being a bit harsh on her? She's 14, that's the age I started having s_x too, and I'm sure at that time I didn't know it took a while for the pill to work either. I probably thought you waited a half hour like if you were taking tylenol. Anyway, girl whos unsure, I say give it about a month, and always use at least two forms of protection. I doubt that a test would be effective ten days after conception, unfortunately you need to wait for your period to come, and if it is late, then you can test. Good luck.

You need to grow up! You're being so incredibly stupid and I don't want to see another dumb 14 yr old get knocked up because she couldn't read the dang directions. READ THEM!!!!! They come WITH the birth control! Read them FRONT TO BACK. IMMEDIATELY. And sit down with a dang adult or whoever is your guardian and you need to have a bigggg talk with them, miss irresponsible.

Can a 14 year old drink alcohol regularly and safely...? Probably a few, but the law is they should not. Chances they will binge, get drunk, pa__s out and get into some sort of trouble, SO, parents and adults will strongly advise that 14 year olds should not drink alcohol because they do not have the experience and maturity to do it wisely. Same goes for s_x. This twit who posted cant read the directions, so obviously she has no business having s_x. And we adults should not be advising how to do it correctly when she does not have the maturity to do it--let alone the legal age. If she asked how to make a Margarita, should we tell her (because we a__sume she will just do it anyway...) or just say NO...Something for us to think about...
