Pregnant And Not Sure What To Do

I am 18 years old and I attend college and have my own place but my parents pay for well pretty much everything for me. My boyfriend is 24, he works in the oil fields (and comes from money) and is gone most of the time working for long hours, and we have been together for almost 3 years now, and madly in love and have plans to get married once i finish college. He has recently expressed to me that he wants to have a baby, because he feels he is getting to old. So we TTC and now I am 6 weeks pregnant and still have yet to tell my parents because I know they will not approve and I am scared to death. What do I do??

Congratulations! It appears you are surrounded by love and financial support. Your only problem is you fear you have failed your parents' expectations. It's time to 'fess up. Start the conversation with "You know, Rob is real anxious to start a family. How do you feel about a grandchild?" Your support system will allow you to continue with college, which you should make clear is your intent. What you do about marriage depends on your culture. With close to half the births in this country being to unmarried parents, one has to figure that most firstborns arrive before the wedding ring. The best of luck!
