What is/was your favorite part about being pregnant?

1. The kicks. The first time I felt her kick I criiiiiied like a little girl haha. Then when I was in labor I felt her kick and cried because I knew that was going to be one of the last kicks of hers I'd ever feel. Well, ever feel on the inside of my tummy anyway. I still feel the phantom kicks but... Ah, it's just not the same.
2. Ultrasounds! Seeing her chubby little face, wondering what she'd look like. If she'd look more like me or her dad... Finding out the s_x!! That is such a slap in the face when you can stop referring to her as "it" and start calling her "her."
3. People touching my belly. I know most pregnant women hate this, and it only happened to me once or twice but I loved it. Babies have a way of bringing people closer together, even strangers...and I liked being a part of that.
4. The excitement and wonder! Boy or girl? What will they look like? How big will they be? Oh my god what if there's more than one?! What am I going to name them? etc. etc.
5. The baby you get from it! After 9 months of being more uncomfortable than you've ever been in your life... ta-da! You get a baby! A beautiful little version of yourself, only better! And for those 9 months, you get 18+ years of exhausting, but incredibly rewarding, work!

EVERYTHING! My hormones tore me up, I had panic attacks and depression at the end, but even with that I loved it all. EXCEPT people touching my belly. I wanted to punch the strangers who came up and wanted to rub on me.

the gas is Nitrous oxide. Trust me i would know its what I do for a living....it does not lower your blood oxygen level so it is prefered....In the US it is hard to find in a labor & delivery ward unfortunatly.....It is used primarily for dental work....to be honest a lot of women who think they have had a natual delivery in fact have not...The second they hook you up to a monitor or stick a needle in your arm just for basic fluid, labor is considered no longer natual...so to me the t_tle doesnt make a difference....It is what you think was the safest for you and the baby.

God I loved it all! I loved the adventure of it all-the morning sickness and how it amazed me because I had never felt so weird in my life and the heartburn was what I imagined a heart attack to feel like. What's even weirder is that nothing helped but pressing my face against this ugly brown wallpaper in my apartment. The kicks were out of this world, seeing how hard he'd kick and the print of his hand or foot or his little b___t. Lastly the labor/delivery process made me feel like frigging Lara Croft Tomb Raider. I felt bada__s for going through such a scary and painful little ordeal and felt strong and powerful being able to endure and push him out. It was the first time I ever ran into the "brick wall" in my life. You know the thing marathon runners talk about when the exhaustion kicks in and their brains stop working right and they just run into a real brick wall where they can't go on. It's always right near the end and some people fall out but some people go through the most revealing mental processes and battles and it happens in a matter of seconds and they overcome and push on when their minds were convincing them that it was an impossibility. I have never been athletic and never in my life met a challenge like the one I faced after the exhaustion of high blood pressure, a stressful and problem filled pregnancy, no sleep for a week, and labor set in. When I started pushing and realized there was now the new challenge of gettinig this baby out of this little whole on top of feeling like he was trapped behind bones, I hit that brick wall, and god it was amazing when I pushed through and pushed him out!!! Now I can't wait to go through that again!

Db, is it like laughing gas? That sounds kinda weird to have during labor. I mean I wouldn't give birth outside of a hospital just in case something went wrong. The monitors comforted me when I was in labor. I'd look over at the little graph being printed out and be like "Aww her heartbeat spiked there." And then I'd see how far I could get it to spike on a contraction. You gotta pa__s the time somehow! All that was on TV was that movie where Shaq is a genie.

lol, amanda nitrous oxide IS laughing gas....you know whats funny is whenever I was in labor someone on tv was having a baby too, when I had dante it was lucy off of 7th heaven having her baby in the elevator, then there was elizabeth from the view, ugh and there was 1 or two more that i cant remember....but i know it was really wierd when I had dante they aired the episode of 7th heaven of lucy having the baby, and then when i was having Zaiden they had the episode on as a re run

Haha oh man that's insane... I didn't know that was even healthy for pregnant women to take. I've never had to take it before but my mom got it when she went to the dentist a thousand years ago.. all I remember is her acting fruuuuuuity!
Man my hospital's channel selection sucked. After I gave birth it was just re-runs of A Baby Story from then on out. I really do not like any TLC shows except Jon and Kate Plus Eight... but my sister thinks it's a phase to watch the pregnancy/birth shows on TLC when you're pregnant. And I guess she was right because I watched them all the time haha.

amanda it is perfectly safe dyring pregnancy, its weird how you guys have never really heard of it and here its the most commonly used pain relif during labour lol, we also use it if you break your arm ect in ambulances.........you use it while having a contraction or just before it takes about 10secs to take affect and about a miniute to wear of, it kinda makes you feel a bit drunk. whwn we have wrok done at the dentist we have an injection in the gum that makes the side of your face go gum for an hour or so
