Question Of The Erm Monthish

When the nurse was turning up the drop on my epidural I looked over at her and said "It feels like a really big fist is falling out of me" (or something along those lines. I really thought I said "I feel her head" but no, my mom said that I said I felt a fist.) I only pushed for a total of 7 minutes it was probably only 4 or 5 pushes before she was out. When her head came out I thought it was over and I got all relaxed ready to see her, then they were like "Uh. There's still the shoulders." So it was one more push for that and THEN it was over haha. I still felt pretty much pregnant until the placenta was delivered. Then it was like my stomach deflated. My doctor was pretty quick to give me an episiotomy... I saw the whole thing in the reflection of his gla__ses, so I could see her head coming out and it looked like she would have been fine but, he cut me anyways. My mom said there's something about redheads and it being more likely for them to need it. She also said redheads bleed more than most people do but I have no idea if that's true or not. Ellie also didn't have a "cone head" at all which I thought was weird. When my nephew came out he had a cone head and he didn't even make it all the way through, my sister had an emergency c-section. I guess maybe it was because I wasn't in labor for that long? I don't know. I was looking at pictures of her as a newborn the other day and every time I do I can't believe how small she was. Like I'll look at my hand or something compared to her... gosh she was teeny tiny! I feel like I didn't even notice her growing, I'm sitting here thinking she's still as small as the day she was born but nooooo she isn't hahaha

ugh I hate all of you you and your birth stories! with Dante I went in march 5 330pm, got induced, then had dante on the 8th at 645pm....I was in active labor for at least 27 hours....then STILL had FREAKEN c-section! Then Zaiden my water was broken for 9 hours before I got contractions going then I was in labor for 14 hour and...AGAIN STILL HAD A C-SECTION!.....poo on all of you!!!! ***runs away crying***

haha nb i have bo idea why i was under the bed lol, i was very very active during labour i could not keep still i was changing positions every miniute, i think i wad in the process of kneeling on the floor with my head on the bed but i think i got a real painful contraction and ended up under the bed lol, i was so all over the place thats why she had to put my legs in styrips so she could actually get a look down there lol! nb why did they have to cut you if you had allready tore lol thats just mean.......or i supose they might of thought you were going to tear more. i didn't have much of an urge to push either i could feel her which made it easier for me to push her out as i felt more in control as to when i couldn't feel anything lol. Heidi had such a cone head lol there is a pic on myspace where she had just come out it looks so funny, i cant beleive how dofferent she is now! she,s so big already and starting to smile! she,s fitting in to her 0-3 clothes already lol

aww db if it makes you feel better at the time i would of done anything for a c-section lol i even asked for one with just gas and air as i swore it would hurt less lol

durante baby - March 12

lol I would have done anything to NOT have c-sections....you can ask my friends Charee who is on and off of here sometimes...I was like a psyco woman looking up all the ways to avoid c-sections....what i could do to get the baby to drop, get me to dilate more, get contractions going....ANYTHING that wouldnt harm the baby I was willing to try! my next pregnancy i will be even worse i am sure, cause if I am lucky enough to have another, i am sure that will be my last...So of course i will want it to go exactly how i want...If you go into third tri and look back in 07july-sep, I am sure i had a million crazy rant threads on there about me not wanting a c-section, and about v-bacs, EVERYTHING...Oh man I really miss being pregnant : (

angelmonkey - March 12

aww db what was the reason for your c-sections? i was terrified of having a c-section while i was pregnant, it was biggest fear lol!

amanda17 - March 12

I was pretty indifferent toward having a c-section. I figured if I need one I need one and getting one is a lot better than having whatever complications, you know? I just wanted her to be healthy no matter how she entered the world. I always said to myself throughout my entire pregnancy, whatever happens happens, and as long as she's okay, I'm okay. And I still feel that way, you know?

angelmonkey - March 12

oh amanda i so get you there........if i needed a c-section then so be it, i think everybody wants there baby to be safe but that does not mean to say that some are terrified of what thay may be lol

amanda17 - March 13

Yeah I'm just saying that's why I wasn't scared of getting a c-section. There are ups, downs and risks to both ways of delivery and neither one of them is going to be fun so... Yeah they were pretty much even in my eyes. I wouldn't have been scared or upset if my doctor told me I needed one.

I dont know....My first c-section was a emergency c-section. I didnt know what was going on they wouldnt tell me, and they were literally rolling me down the hallway in a bed that had broken wheels, shaving me and prepping me, as they were telling me....Dh almost wasnt there for it. He barely made it back from getting coffee. I was so p__sed at all the drs and nurses for not telling me what was going on that in the middle of them trying to push my broken bed down the hallway, I jumped off the bed and told them "if you guys are stupid enough to not to the patient what is going on with her baby, then I doubt you can push this bed and preform a c-section" it took three of them to get me back on the bed (i already had my epidural)....Then the epidural didnt kick in all the way til halfway through my 3 minute c-section..I still to this day do not know if they ended up putting me out or if i pa__sed out. All i know is that right after the c-section they took the baby right away, dh came and said "aww he is so ugly!" I cried cause i thought he was serious....thats the last thing i remember. Then i woke up in recovery. I lost too much blood and they had to do a blood transfusion...I was Dante over 3 hours after he was born for the first time. they knew I wasnted to b___stfeed but since i was in recovery for so long they went ahead and bottle fed him. Dante never took to b___stfeeding very well cause of it Zaiden was a little more peaceful story, because i was more prepaired for a c-section...My c-section was schedualed for sept 5th. my water broke on the sept 1st...started my contractions with my b___st pump....i was in the hospital in labor for about 12 hours, before they suggested a c-section. I agreed because Zaiden wasnt comming down. he would bump his head on my pelvic bone then jump back up to where the dr couldnt even feel his head anymore...so I had the c-section....it went great! the drs were AWSOME! let me see him right after they pulled him out and by the time they were wheeling out of surgery i was holding Zaiden and bfinf him....I got out of the hospital on the 5th, and by the 11th I was back in with a horrible infection! my WBC was 29,000. they seriously thought it was going to kill me...I had to stop bfing so i could be on antibiotic...once i got home from the hospital I quit the antibiotics against drs orders so i could continue bfing....It was horrible! Now i have endometriosis, and I am reading more and more things saying that c-section seem to increase the chances of endometriosis

WELL hahaha thanks for disproving my point Db that sounds scary! I've known a heck of a lot of people to have c-sections and none of them were scary like that. Like my sister had a tilted uterus or something like that so her doctor knew she would need a c-section, but at her request they tried to let her go naturally and she was induced a few days after her due date. She was only in labor for a few hours before they said "Ok you need a c-section" and then she had one and that's pretty much all there is to tell hahaha. She complained more about being hungry than the actual c-section. She said that she wasn't allowed to eat anything anf she was starving, then her husband comes in with a big-a__s burger from Carl's Jr and he just looks at her blankly and says "what?"

durante baby - March 13

lol yea with Zaiden I wasnt allowed anything but IV fluids and ice chips 72 hours after......dante it was 48hours i believe

amanda17 - March 13

I had a big fat piece of cake before I realized I was in labor hahaha. So really I only went 10 hours without eating anything and I wasn't hungry. When I was in the mother baby unit they said it was time for lunch and I was like "Oh, yeah I guess I'll have something." :P

I have a very tilted uterus and have delivered both my girls v____ally. A tilted uterus almost always rights itself during pregnancy. So my OB said anyway. I wasnt scared of having a c-section, just REALLY didnt want to have one.

angelmonkey - March 13

i think i was pretty much terrified of both haha, well actually a c-section more lol i've always been scared of not being numbed properly and feeling it or my guts falling out after and my scar bursting open.........db i really feel for you. i know you obviously cant eat if you,ve had a c-section but you can eat with a normal birth.i was eating in the middle of labour lol i needed some energy! thne i had a sandwhich after lol

amanda17 - March 13

Newbaby, I wouldn't swear that she had a tilted uterus, I may have been confusing her with someone else. I know she had something that the doctor was pretty sure she'd have a c-section for but a v____al birth was possible. It's been a year and a half since he was born so forgive me if the story makes no sense hahaha Angel, I ate right before and right after but not during. I think my hospital makes sure there's no eating going on in case you need an emergency c-section for whatever reason. The hospital food was just terrible though... except the breakfast, but how can you mess up breakfast? I also think the afterbirth was pretty sucky. First at the hospital they have nurses help you pee... One of the nurses who was a__sisting me wanted to make conversation and I felt too awkward to ask her to shut up so I just had a conversation along with her! Thank God I didn't have to poo ].[
