I am 36 weeks, 2cm and 70% effaced. I had gone in for an appointment last monday and was told that i was 2cm and 50% effaced. i began experiencing consistent Braxton-Hicks 4 days later and called to see what the Dr. wanted me to do. He wanted me to come in so he check me. I had effaced 20% more in 4 days. I don't know what that means, but he told me to drink lots of fluid and to stay off of my feet. He wants me to try to hold off until atleast 37 weeks. i have a toddler, so the "staying off my feet" is impossible. I go for another appointment on Thursday and I'm sure they'll check me again. i feel a lot of pressure down there and the Braxton Hicks are sometimes intense, but they are still not painful. i've done 'self-examinations" and I can feel my cervix is right at the opening to my v____a... i hope it's not much longer. All I seem to do is eat in these last months. I've already gained 36 lbs i don't want to gain anymore.

Theresa It is amazing I am almost 37 weeks and when the nurse checked me she could feel the top of the baby's head I asked my ultrasound doctor that the nurse felt it and he told me that it was true because checking the sonogram the baby's head was all the way down in position. HE also said that the baby was facing by spinal cord does anyone know what that means

due december 27th, started having contractions november 9th. thought weekend of december 10th he was coming out for sure. went to my midwife, she told me i was soft, but anterior, when i was posterior 3 days earlier. she said come back in 4 hours, if it was really labor there would be a difference. came back 4 hours later, dialated 1 cm. its been 2 weeks, and i am only 1.5 cm as of yesterday. it feels as if he is never coming out!

heyy all thought i would let you know i started to soften at 27 weeks and dilated by 35 but went overdue by 4 days!!!! Its such a tease when they tell you all this... best wishes

I am 37 weeks and i have dilated 1 cm already. do you dilate everyday or what

i am 34 weeks and 2 days, I went to the ER last night cause my contractions were 8 to 10 minutes apart, well they told me that I was dilated 1 cm. they didnt say anything about being effaced or anything They gave me Brethin to stop my contractions which was 1 shot, and 3 pills of Breathin, I still have a few contractions now after sending me home, can someone tell me how long is labor after this? this is my 3rd child and Im in so much pain I wish it was over!

im 36 weeks 40% effaced and 1cm dilated... Im excited to see the progression from week to week lol.
