Has anyone tried this and been successful? I would like to try that this time, as my first was induced and resulted in a c-section. Im really trying to have a v-bac this time. Thanks!

Hi Tasha, I"ve had two c-sections, first was induced and ended up in a c, the 2nd I just scheduled it. This time however, I am planning to try a vbac as well and was hoping to try this acupuncture thing. I hope someone responds to your thread. Good luck!

I personally have not done accupuncture for bringing on labor, but 2 close friends of mine did! The first one was on her due date and her midwife said that everything looked great... she had been 70% effaced and 2cm for a few weeks (2nd child) so she went in for accupuncture at 11am and got home around 1145am and starting have contractions a few minutes later... then 6pm the midwife came over to check her (homebirth) and she was 7cm and 90%... so the midwife stayed and said that she would go soon! So at 8:08 she deilivered her baby boy... she says the transition was very fast and the pushing was very quick and she almost delivered in the shower bc she couldn't move to the bed fast enough! Her first labor was VERY LONG... 32 hours and lots of problems! She swears by the acupunture! Then my SIL did it this April bc she was 10 days past due... hers did not work as fast, but she got the acupuncture around 10am and delivered the baby the next morning around 9am. But during that day she was able to do things around the house... she also says that the last hour or so was very intense and the actual delivery was very fast (this was her 2nd v____al delivery after c-section)! I myself will be trying this once I am pa__sed my due date and the midwife says I am starting to dilate and efface... let me know what you end up doing. Just make sure you go to somebody who is very familiar with this... they will do the acupuncture and then advise you and your coach as to the pressure points to rub during a contraction and the points to rub for relaxation... it's pretty amazing stuff! Good luck!

Thanks for your imput, my friend did it the day before she was to be induced so they did it very stong on her and she went in the next day naturally, but she hemraged(sp?) but everything turned out great! So Im going to start about 2 weeks before my due date and do things slower to get my body ready..hopefully!!!! I do NOT want another c-section! But if it goes that way I have no choice.
