Bed Rest City Population Me

I am almost 34 weeks and starting having some painful BH contractions. I knew in my 2nd trimester I had what my doctor called acute placenta previa but that it was not a worry and would probably move. Well I had some spotting a few days ago with BH and some back pains. SO here I am, at least I finally have a computer now, there are only so many magazines a girl can read & if I see another Sudoku puzzle I might scream! LOL! Anyway I am able to walk around for 15 minutes every few hours and I can take some time to shower etc. Which isn't so bad I guess there are few women in this wing of the hospital that can't get up at all!!!! Crazy. The bad news is that they think because of this and the fact that my uterus has a bit of an odd shape I will have to have a C-section. I was somewhat prepared for this but always had a little hope that maybe I would get to deliver her va___ally. Anywho...just bored...hahaha. Any suggestions on how to pass the time? Kate

I'm really sorry you're stuck in the hospital. I was on bedrest for 6 weeks and told just to get up to eat and pee. I also did a few days in the hospital on magnesium sulfate and was not allowed to get up at all. Honestly all I really did was watch tv and talk and play games on the computer. This site really helped keep me sane. At least you're able to walk around a little. Have they talked about doing your c-section or inducing you early?

Yes they have discussed my c-section be scheduled when they see my progress in the next 48 hours. I am so happy to have a computer now, I can say if there is anything you need to know about Hollywood celebrities I can probably inform you! LOL! There are quite a few women here on magnesium and I feel so badly for them, I feel like I count down the minutes until the nurse comes in to let me walk up and down the hall! :)

I dunno if you have yahoo or msn messenger but my s/n is ms.kblunt AT yahoo.com. I'm usually signed on and I should be having my son Monday but maybe I can help keep you a little company lol messengers REALLY helped me pa__s the time. I was on bedrest for preterm labor and taking meds every 6 hours and just recently rejoined the land of the walking when they told me they wouldn't try to stop my labor anymore.

hey angel you are not alone! i'm on strict bedrest orders and i am going on 4 weeks. i just got released from the hospital today for preterm labor and i'm 32 weeks tomorrow. so as far as bedrest goes... it sucks yeah. i go through periods of time when i just feel really quiet but my friends on this site are super nice and super understanding. myspace fills some time too. oh yeah and ebay! but mostly tv and movies. my doctors have brushed over the c-section a little with me cuz i have a cyst on the umbilical cord and they fear that it may rupture during a v____al birth but nothing is set in stone yet. but hey i am jealous that you get tot take a shower! lucky! i have to take baths! uck. but if you ever wanna talk feel free to email me h1l1kus at mac dot com

wow...thank u everyone, i feel so much better now! i'm a little scared because this is our first. my name is kate and i'm 26, i live in ontario, canada. we are having a girl! she is due on my mother's 50th birthday but that is not likely to happen now with a c-section in the works...oh well. dh is so busy and feels guilty that he can't stay on the phone, visit more etc...but someone has to bring home the bacon for this baby right? :) i am the first of my friends to be preggo & this is the first grandchild on both sides so I feel like there's been a lot of pressure for some reason!!! lol...anyway i don't have yahoo or a myspace but i am now addicted to pogo games..haha. i haven't been on this site that much but now find it really great!!! thanks so much. i am going to watch 27 Dresses on my computer so i'll be back later! Kate

hi kate. wow that is alot of pressure but you seem to be maintaining your sense of humor and your insanity so more power to you girl! i'm julie and i am 35 years young with baby number four. i got addicted to the game mahjong for a while. i wanna see that movie too..... oooh now i'm jealous!

I got addicted to games on yahoo....mostly bejeweled and I actually BOUGHT sally's salon in a moment of weakness. I also watched a good bit of movies. I'm kay, having a boy, due June 1st and will be 36 weeks tomorrow. He's got a knot in his cord so I've had ultrasounds every 4 weeks and everything has been going great but I have an amnio scheduled for Monday. As long as his lungs are mature I'll be having him that afternoon. I've had weekly NST's for that since 27 weeks then at 28 weeks they started watching my contractions too when I started my preterm labor c___p. Thankfully you are pretty close to done, although I'm sure it seems like it's far off!

I am still here....in bed, ugh. But if all goes well I will be going home on monday, but still on bed-rest. I really want to be in my own home so I am following every rule given to me! lmao. DH brought me a ninendo game thingy for one person and it was fun for a long time, not any more though. I am going to have a C-section now for sure, so my daughter will be here on June 2nd at 4pm-ish!!! So exicted that it is so close, I am so happy to have had this experience but I am NOT loving being pregnant anymore. I feel so guilty to feel miserable & complain because I have 2 close friends who are really struggling to get preggers. But man alive I want this to be over!! LOL. So that's it, I'm still lurking about counting down the days. Kate
