I'm on my first day of bedrest and bored already. I also have a headache and heartburn from the procardia they put me on so any company or cheering up would be helpful!

that is c___ppy Kay. I hope you feel better or at leats get some company. I remeber when my aunt was put on bed rest from 6 months on and it was tough. How much longer until you are due??

Eek six months would really suck. My baby has a knot in his umbilical cord (has NOTHING to do with the preterm labor, it's just something they monitor with NST's and ultrasounds to make sure it isn't causing problems which is rare) so I was already trying to push them to deliver me at 37 weeks since I'm having c-section anyway. They seemed hesitant to even discuss going at 38 weeks because they can't really guarantee till 39 that the babies lungs are developed. Well now maybe if things stay the way they are I'll get my 37 weeks because I got a steroid shot to help develop his lungs as a precaution and I have to go back in tonight to get the other one. They did a fetal fibronectin test that came back positive so I've got a 1 in 6 chance of going into labor in the next 2 weeks. If at the end of my 2 weeks I'm doing well and they repeat that test and it comes back negative I think I'll get the ok to go back to work and my normal day.

Kay, I've been on bed rest for the past 8 weeks. The first week was spent in the hospital followed by 3 weeks of rest at home. I've been re-admitted to the hospital and am nearing my 5 week of rest in the hospital. I have been diagnosed with an incompetent cervix and tested positive for signs of pre-term labor. So, I'll be hanging out here for the rest of the pregnancy (I'm currently 31 weeks). We're hoping to make it to 36 weeks which is when my cerclage will be remo ved, and then looking to have baby girl around 37/38 weeks. At least you're on bedrest at home. I know it stinks, but just try to take it one day at a time. Rest up as you won't be resting much once l/o gets here. Try to maintain a sense of humor as well. Otherwise, you may find yourself crying and cracking up. Good luck...

wow jaira 8 weeks? What do you do all day? I bought a crossword puzzle, a pack or regular cards and a pack of uno, then I've got my laptop and the tv. I'm used to resting at home after I've been at work because I'm tired from being on my feet all day. Now I have nothing to wear me out and you can see I'm already awake at 530am. That's awesome that you've made it to 31 weeks so far after all you've been through. rmc - what are you going on bedrest for? I had an ultrasound and nst already scheduled for this monday so at least I have an outing to look forward to. My ultrasound tech is awesome, I completely adore her because she checks everything she needs to then goes and play photographer for me and tries to get some cute 4D pics of my son for me. She's really nice and you can tell she enjoys her job so I really appreciate it. Since they gave me those shots to develop his lungs I wonder if he'll be doing practice breathing already?

Um....let's see....How do I pa__s the time? Well, lately I've been running out of ideas. I have the laptop and a few DVDs. I watch 1 soap opera M-F, check emails and pregnancy boards, and I have th I-Pod. After 8 weeks though, these have become a little redundant. Twice daily I'm placed on the fetal heart monitor for an hour, and I have my vitals constantly checked throughout the day. I'm still bored, but it works for now.

You probably have nurses coming in and out all day checking those. How's the hospital food treating you? I've resorted to online games which is mildly entertaining for now since I've never played them. I'm corssing my fingers I'll only have to do this for two weeks, but I don't wanna get my hopes too high and be crushed if they tell me no. I watched a movie yesterday, which I'm not big on either, but I think my cable bill is gonna get run up from me renting them. At least you and the baby are doing well. Sounds like you're mostly doing a lot of the same stuff I am.
