Breathlessness Anyone Have This

Hello, I'm new to the third trimester board--- but have noticed that for the past two weeks or so, I've felt out of breath- or like it's hard to get enough air when I breathe. Even sitting here on the computer, it seems like I struggle for the right position to allow me to breathe easier. Anyone know what I'm talking about? I'm 28 weeks, today. I've gained somewhere around 12-15 lbs so far, and wasn't overweight before pregnancy. (or breathless before pregnancy!). THANKS! Mic

Absolutly know how you feel! I often take realy deep breathes because i havnt been breathing normaly and my boyfriend thinks im mad about something, but im just trying to breath. Its especialy dificult when i lay down. I read that shortness of breath is due to the baby pushing your organs around so that your lungs are in a diferent spot and not able to get as full of air.

I also know what you are talking about. This has been happening to me since I started my second trimester and has not lighten up since then. I am 29 weeks and 6 days today, seeing as it is 2 in the morning. My boyfriend gets so scared when I start to do that and I tell him I'm just trying to breathe. I was told it was normal and seeing as I am having a boy, all of my organs are pushed up. Sometimes it hurts to yawn when I need extra air in my lungs. Again this is suppose to be normal. Our bodies are working extra time to get oxygen to our baby as well as us. It seems to happen to me quite often but I try not to worry.

Aha! I read the other night something that does in fact help! If your having trouble getting enough air, lift your arms over your head for a bit. It does help. I especially notice when I'm in "lounge"position, laying back, I have trouble getting enough air. I've been holding my arms up, and it does help get you regulated...
