I am almost 29wks and i have been getting them everyday for the past month. it happens pretty frequently but not where i have to time it. i told the dr and he said i shouldnt be getting it this early. he also did a fetal fibronectin test and that was negative. is anyone else in the same situation? any input would be great.

Kaitlin, is it your first pregnancy? If not, it's normal to have them frequently. But even if it is your first, the book "what to expect when you're expecting" says that from 20 weeks on, you may feel them regularly...

Yep. I am pregnant with my first and I started getting BH everyday right around the same time as you. I am 35 weeks now and still getting them but with increasing intensity. You'll be fine.

I'm 37weeks pg with my 2nd and have had BH since I was about 18 weeks. With my 1st baby I started noticing them around 24 weeks. We acually have contractions as early as 12-13 weeks, but can't detect them b/c the uterus is not very big. BH, as long as no more than 4 in an hour, are actually beneficial. They are believeed to stimulate circulation to the placenta and therefore the baby. There is no harm in them, again, unless you are having more than 4 in an hour. If that's the case you should call your OB after a couple consistent hours of 4 or more. Also if they increase in intensity or are accompanied with bleeding. I think you'll be fine.

It's perfectly normal from 20 wks onward, just as long as you're not having more than 4-6 in an hour. I have no idea why your doc would be saying you shouldn't be having them. :S

hi, just wanted to ease your mind. BH can come very early in a pregnancy and is normal. I have had them for probably the last 3 months and i am 33 1/2 weeks. I get them every time i stand up roll over....lol always...some get painful ones some don't even feel them.....so i wouldn't worry hun.....only if they come frequently like 10 min apart for a good period of time.......i had that happen a couple weeks ago at 32 weeks and was having minor contractions i ended up in the hospital for 3 days......but if they arent' frequent for you to time i wouldn't worry about it hun.......good luck and Congrats!!!
